Song Yaru's face flushed red and then turned pale.
Compared to Lin Xiaoxiao's simple and easy-to-understand example, her quotations and allusions seemed like empty talk floating in the sky—gorgeous yet superficial.
But Lin Xiaoxiao's approach was down-to-earth and could truly solve the problem.
She felt her cheeks burning, as if she had been slapped several times in public.
Awkward.
An unprecedentedly awkward situation.
She always thought Lin Xiaoxiao was just a bookworm who relied on her good grades to get special treatment, bringing her child to class, which was simply outrageous.
But now she realizes how wrong she was.
He's not a bookworm at all.
What she has in her head is many years more advanced than what this self-proclaimed elite has.
I was too presumptuous and looked down on people.
At this extremely awkward moment.
"Beep beep—"
Two loud car horns sounded outside the window.
These days, bicycles are a rarity, let alone cars.
Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to it.
A brand-new green military jeep came to a steady stop in front of the teaching building.
This car isn't for the average person.
Amidst the curious gazes of the crowd, the driver's side door opened, and a tall, imposing figure stepped out of the car.
The man was dressed in a crisp military uniform, his epaulets gleaming in the setting sun. He was tall and slender with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Even just his back view exuded a captivating aura of heroism and strength.
He closed the car door and turned around.
A handsome, striking face was exposed to the air.
A collective gasp filled the classroom.
Even Song Yaru, who had been so aggressive just moments before, was stunned.
Who is this? So young and so good-looking!
The man seemed completely oblivious to the admiring and inquisitive gazes around him.
He walked straight toward the teaching building, his goal clear.
He walked directly to the door of Lin Xiaoxiao's classroom and stopped.
The professor was also stunned, staring at the imposing soldier at the door, unable to react for a moment.
The man greeted the professor and nodded politely to the students around him. Then his gaze swept over everyone and landed precisely on Lin Xiaoxiao.
His originally cold and stern features softened instantly the moment he saw her.
Han Qiushi strode forward and walked straight up to Lin Xiaoxiao.
He didn't say anything, but simply reached out and took the books Lin Xiaoxiao was holding.
"dad!"
"hug."
When Han Qiushi saw the child, his expression softened even more, and he picked up Ping An and An An with both hands.
He turned to Lin Xiaoxiao and said.
"It's getting a bit colder outside, why don't you wear an extra layer?" His voice was deep and pleasant, and his words were full of concern.
Lin Xiaoxiao smiled at him, "It's okay, I'll leave after class, I won't get cold."
"Okay, let's go home."
After speaking, Lin Xiaoxiao greeted the professor and her classmates.
Han Qiushi nodded, picked up his two children, and the family of four went home together.
At that moment, it was as if they were in their own world, and everyone else was just background.
Standing together, the man was handsome, the woman was stunning, and the child was adorable; they looked like a painting, a harmonious and heartwarming family portrait.
Song Yaru sat in her seat, staring blankly at the scene.
The last bit of resentment and jealousy in my heart slowly dissipated.
She finally understood.
How could a man as outstanding as Han Qiushi choose a woman who is merely a country bumpkin with achievements?
Lin Xiaoxiao's charm lies not in her face, nor in her top score in the entire department.
Rather, it lies in the captivating intelligence she exudes as a whole.
I was too superficial, too rigid, and too arrogant.
A deep sense of shame welled up inside me.
She had to do something.
Just as Lin Xiaoxiao's family was about to walk past her, Song Yaru suddenly walked over.
"Lin Xiaoxiao."
Her voice was soft, with a slight, almost imperceptible tremor.
Lin Xiaoxiao stopped and looked back at her with some confusion.
Han Qiushi also stopped, holding Ping An and An An, and looked over calmly.
Song Yaru blushed. She didn't dare to look at Han Qiushi or Lin Xiaoxiao. She just lowered her head and squeezed out three words to the ground.
"I'm sorry, I spoke too harshly just now."
The sound was so soft it was like a mosquito's hum, but just enough for Lin Xiaoxiao to hear.
Lin Xiaoxiao was slightly taken aback when she heard the apology.
Oh?
Did they apologize?
That's pretty fast.
It seems that those who can get into this university are all quite clear-headed and have a higher level of awareness.
At least, they can admit their mistakes and correct them.
It's not beyond redemption.
She didn't say "it's okay," nor did she ask why she apologized.
He simply nodded slightly to the girl who was burying her head in her chest, which was considered an acceptance.
Then, she turned around and walked side by side with Han Qiushi toward the stairwell.
The sound of high heels clicking on the floor mingled with the steady footsteps of a man.
Song Yaru slowly raised her head, watching their departing figures, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
The footsteps faded into the distance in the corridor, eventually disappearing completely.
"I...my God..." A girl covered her mouth, her voice trembling, "That man just now, was he Lin Xiaoxiao's husband?"
The classroom erupted in chaos.
