Extra Extra Part 7

She paused for a few seconds, organizing her thoughts.

"Professor, students, Song Yaru's viewpoint is very reasonable, but I would like to talk about my thoughts from another perspective, a more micro perspective."

"first step......"

The second step is 'demand-driven production'.

We can't always wait for customers to come to us before we know what they want. Can't we proactively find out and anticipate their needs?

"For example, in this department store, we can make a small notebook to record what customers ask when they come to buy things and what they want. Some people ask if we have children's clothes, and some people ask if we have thicker cotton-padded coats."

We collect these demands and relay them to the factory, which can then develop new products based on these demands.

"Let demand dictate our production, rather than letting production dictate what customers can buy."

Lin Xiaoxiao's voice was calm and unhurried, but every word she spoke was like a bombshell exploding in the quiet classroom.

The entire classroom was completely silent.

Everyone was stunned by the blueprint she described.

Information networks? Supply chains? Demand-driven?

They had never even heard of these words before.

But upon closer reflection, I realized that what she said made a lot of sense, as if... it could really be achieved.

Song Yaru's face was completely frozen.

Her proud theories seemed so pale and empty in the face of Lin Xiaoxiao's imaginative and practical ideas; they were like children playing house.

How could a country woman come up with something like this? This...this is simply a fantasy. But why, for some reason, is it so damn convincing!

The professor's eyes were frighteningly bright.

From his initial casualness to his later focus, and now to his excitement, he leaned forward slightly, as if afraid of missing a single word.

After Lin Xiaoxiao finished speaking, she sat down calmly.

What she said was merely the most basic logical prototype of e-commerce and big data in later generations, but in the classroom at the end of the 1970s, it was nothing short of a thunderclap.

The classroom remained silent for a full half minute.

Suddenly, the professor slammed his hand on the podium, startling everyone.

His face was flushed, not from anger, but from excitement.

He stepped down from the podium, completely ignoring everyone else, and went straight to Lin Xiaoxiao's desk.

"Lin Xiaoxiao, you...you go on, your idea for a 'supply chain' is brilliant! Brilliant!"

He was so excited that he was almost incoherent. He grabbed a piece of chalk, turned around, and walked towards the blackboard.

"No, just saying no isn't enough!"

The professor was completely absorbed in his own world. He was drawing boxes and arrows on the blackboard while shouting to Lin Xiaoxiao without turning his head.

"Lin Xiaoxiao, come here. Let's draw this picture and explain it to everyone. Your idea is a completely new system!"

Finally, the bell rang, signaling the end of get out of class.

But the professor was still immersed in great excitement, holding onto Lin Xiaoxiao tightly. The blackboard was already covered with all sorts of boxes and arrows, looking like scribbles.

"How is information transmitted in this chain? How are costs calculated? What methods are used for demand forecasting? Is it sampling or a census?"

The old professor asked one question after another, his eyes shining brightly.

The students around her were still in shock, staring blankly at Lin Xiaoxiao, who was being questioned by the professor. Their eyes were filled with admiration, jealousy, and disbelief.

Just then, an untimely sneer broke in.

"That's quite a boastful claim."

Song Yaru walked over slowly with her arms crossed. She first glanced disdainfully at the drawing on the blackboard, then fixed her gaze on Lin Xiaoxiao.

"Anyone can talk the talk but not walk the walk. Just because you draw a few boxes and lines doesn't mean you're an economist."

Her voice wasn't loud, but it was sharp enough for the whole classroom to hear.

The students who were about to pack up and leave immediately stopped, their instinct to watch the excitement making them prick up their ears again.

The professor frowned immediately, about to reprimand him.

Lin Xiaoxiao gently pressed down on the professor's arm, signaling him not to get angry.

She turned around and looked calmly at Song Yaru.

"Song, do you think this is just empty talk?"

"Isn't that right?" Song Yaru raised her chin, exuding a sense of superiority. "You're a housewife who spends all day around the stove, you don't even know which way the factory door faces, what do you know about actual production? What do you know about real economics?"

"The theories you're talking about sound novel, but they're of absolutely no use. They're just sensationalism."

That's a rather harsh way to put it.

A murmur immediately broke out among the people around them.

"Yeah, isn't Lin Xiaoxiao unemployed? Where did she get these ideas from?"

"It sounds impressive, but in reality, I'm afraid it might not be feasible?"

“Song Yaru comes from a high-ranking official’s family. Her family members are either professors or teachers, so she must know more.”

Hearing the gossip around her, Song Yaru's smugness grew even stronger.

She wanted to expose Lin Xiaoxiao's true colors in public. What was a country woman pretending to be, a learned scholar?

Lin Xiaoxiao was not angry, and didn't even show the slightest emotional fluctuation.

She simply asked a question.

"Song, have you ever gone to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy cloth?"

Song Yaru was taken aback, wondering why she suddenly asked this, but she still subconsciously answered, "Of course I've been there."
