Chapter 54 Methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Qiao Muting had no idea what Qian Lai was thinking. All he knew was that suddenly, the person who had been blocking his way followed someone else onto the dance floor.

A pang of sadness welled up inside me. But a simple smile and a nod from her were enough to make me submit.

He would be better off getting away from the women as soon as possible, otherwise he might have a relapse and things could get really bad.

Qiao Muting jogged along, trying to slip into the restroom. But outside, by the sink, he saw Fang Wenjie arguing with a girl.

"Look at this, my suit is soaked with your champagne. Now it's covered in stains, and there's no way to wash them off."

The girl nervously rubbed her hands, presumably having tried many methods to no avail.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't find my brother just now, so in my panic I turned around a little too fast and spilled all over you. I'm really sorry. Why don't you take off your clothes and give them to me, I'll take them back and find someone to wash them."

"Take it back? What am I supposed to do now? Do you want me to run naked?" (Nakedness is not allowed to be written)

Qiao Muting swung his long legs and strode over to Fang Wenjie's side, intending to say a few words of advice. But when he saw the girl's face, he realized she was an acquaintance.

"Wenjie, what's going on here?"

"She rushed towards me like the wind, spilling an entire glass of champagne on me." He looked helpless, but there was almost no blame or sarcasm.

However, Hua Rui was so anxious she almost cried. Her brother was missing, and he had caused trouble again. This person looked so refined and gentle, as if he had a good temper, but how could he actually be so delicate?

"Dr. Qiao, you two know each other? Then please help me explain to him. Can't I go with him?"

"This dress is priceless. You can compensate me if you want, but it's not possible to do so with money."

"Then what do you want to do? She's just a little girl, look at her, she's almost crying because of you."

Qiao Muting had no idea what he was up to.

"Well, I haven't decided how to compensate you yet. Leave me your contact information and I'll let you know later."

What kind of trick is Fang Wenjie up to?

Hua Rui was very honest; she wrote down her address, phone number, and full name and handed them to Fang Wenjie.

Fang Wenjie took the paper, looked at it twice, and then smugly put it into his pocket.

"Comrade Hua Rui, right? My name is Fang Wenjie, and I'm a doctor at the military hospital. I'll contact you in a couple of days. Don't try to back out."

Qiao Muting seemed to understand. Fang Wenjie was hiding something.

Fang Wenjie: Huh? Does she really not remember herself?

As the group was talking, someone suddenly leaned against the railing behind Qiao Muting.

Qiao Muting subconsciously turned around and saw an elderly man, dressed in fine clothes, pressing his brow with a pained expression.

"Sir, what's wrong?"

"Oh, maybe it's because I haven't been resting well lately. I have a headache. It's nothing."

The man leaned against the railing, frowned rapidly, then closed his eyes, looking utterly exhausted.

"Would you like to rest in the VIP lounge over there?" Qiao Muting asked with concern.

The old man waved his hand: "It's nothing serious. I shouldn't have drunk alcohol. I was already tired, and then I drank some. Ah, that's how it is when you get old. It's nothing."

Soon, several staff members came out of the banquet hall and approached the old man with concern, asking, "Mr. Guan, after this dance is over, it will be your turn to speak. Shall we go to the back now to make some preparations?"

The old man nodded, took two steps, and then asked, "When is it my turn to go on stage?"

Um?

Something really seems wrong!

Qiao Muting followed closely behind. Unfortunately, unauthorized personnel were not allowed to enter the backstage area.

However, Qiao Muting's keen intuition told him that the old man definitely had a health problem. Something serious might be about to happen.

Having no other option, he went around to the front desk. Just then, the music finally ended, and Qian Lai brought John to find Qiao Muting.

At this moment, Qiao Muting had no interest in chatting with them. He gave a polite reply and then focused all his attention back on the old man.

After the music ended, the consulate's master of ceremonies stepped onto the stage and announced that the Director-General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would deliver a congratulatory speech on the establishment of the consulate.

Qiao Muting stood below the stage, his eyes never leaving Guan Zhixun.

As Director Guan walked into the center, he suddenly seemed to trip over something and took a small step. A staff member quickly helped him to the microphone.

This slight jump might just be an elderly person's carelessness in the eyes of an ordinary person, but in Qiao Muting's eyes, it was definitely an extremely dangerous signal.

He frowned deeply and didn't even hear Qian Lai calling his name twice.

Following his gaze, Qian Lai and John also gradually noticed the old man's unusual behavior.

All three of them were extremely nervous at this moment.

Director Guan began his speech. He himself was probably a little confused about what he was saying.

Some statements are even incoherent, while others are repeated over and over.

These unusual phenomena quickly attracted the attention of everyone in the audience.

This is not Director Guan's usual style, nor is it at his usual level of speaking.

Everyone realized that something must be wrong with him.

Just then, Director Guan suddenly made a vomiting gesture.

"Oh no!" Qiao Muting was the first to jump onto the stage, and the next second, Director Guan fell straight to the ground.

Fortunately, Qiao Muting reacted quickly, pulling him into his arms and gently placing him on the ground, letting him lean against his lap and elevating his shoulders and back.

He then quickly turned Guan Zhixun's head to one side. Guan Zhixun immediately vomited a large mouthful of liquid.

At this point, the patient's consciousness had rapidly faded.

John and his friends followed closely behind, rushing onto the stage.
