After all, he was the person she had longed for for so many years. Even though she had just thrown him away, she was still heartbroken and cried alone in her blankets.
Wu Weiguo quickly gathered pig feed and went down the mountain. Lan Xiang looked at the two portions of pig feed he had brought and recorded his work points with a look of admiration. Then he heard Wu Weiguo say:
"There's another one for Comrade Zhu Xiaomin; this basket counts as hers and will be recorded as her work points."
Upon hearing this, Lan Xiang immediately nodded cryptically and recorded Zhu Xiaomin's work points as well.
He then lowered his voice and said:
“Wu Zhiqing, please don’t hesitate to ask if you need any help.”
Wu Weiguo nodded.
"I'll go back first."
On the way back, Wu Weiguo ran into Wang Jianguo again.
“Wu Zhiqing, if you need any help, please don’t hesitate to ask. I would really like to be able to help you.”
Wu Weiguo glanced at him speechlessly; he hadn't come here with any mission in the first place.
Why does this Wang Jianguo keep coming up to me, wanting to help me with tasks?
"Okay, I'll definitely ask you for help if I need it."
Just as he finished speaking and was about to leave, Wang Jianguo stopped him again.
"Wait a minute, Wu Zhiqing, I'm not trying to find out about your mission, I really want to,"
Wu Weiguo understood what he meant; he wanted to make a contribution!
“I understand what you mean. You don’t need to say anything. If I need anything, you will be the first person I contact.”
Hearing Wu Weiguo say this, Wang Jianguo forced a smile, then frowned as he watched Wu Weiguo's departing figure.
Even if Wu Weiguo didn't need his help, he would still help him.
This is his only chance to make a contribution.
Wu Weiguo returned around three or four in the afternoon and stood hesitating in front of Zhu Xiaomin's window, unsure whether he should speak up.
He has good hearing and could hear Zhu Xiaomin sobbing inside.
“Zhu Zhiqing,”
Zhu Xiaomin was still lying on the kang (a heated brick bed) sobbing while hugging her pillow. She didn't respond when he called her from outside the window.
For a moment, the two of them remained silent, neither of them speaking.
Silence!
Zhu Xiaomin glanced at his figure through the window and knew he was still standing outside.
I turned my head, and felt like crying again.
I wanted to ask him if he already knew, but I couldn't bring myself to say it, and if I did, I would want to cry.
"Zhu Zhiqing, are you alright?"
Zhu Xiaomin remained silent.
They still have those paper windows, so you can't see the faces of the people inside.
However, since he could make out the figure, Wu Weiguo saw that Zhu Xiaomin had been sitting down the whole time.
Maybe he was holding a pillow in his arms, and suddenly he collapsed.
Wu Weiguo was startled, and his first thought was...
He committed suicide by cutting his wrists!
Wu Weiguo didn't have time to think much; just those four words flashed through his mind, and his heart skipped a beat.
They broke through the window and got in!
His words startled Zhu Xiaomin.
She forgot to cry and looked up at him in surprise from her pillow.
Wu Weiguo: ...
The scene inside the house did not match his expectations.
This was actually a bit awkward.
"Yeah, I thought you were thinking about something that was wrong."
I'll fix your window right away.
Zhu Xiaomin's tears were still wet on her face when she suddenly felt like laughing, her facial expressions out of control.
Then, looking at her broken window, she burst into tears again.
Her window looks so pitiful!
"Waaaaah."
Wu Weiguo was in a flurry of activity, unsure whether to clean up the debris on the kang window or comfort Zhu Xiaomin.
That's good, since everyone is working in the fields at this time, and there's no one at the educated youth settlement.
Wu Weiguo was in a flurry of activity.
"Don't cry, don't cry, I'll clean you up. You look ugly crying like that!"
"Anyway, nobody's watching, waaaaaaaahhhhhh."
Wu Weiguo was stunned to see that her crying only got louder when he tried to comfort her, so he squatted down on the kang (a heated brick bed).
Zhu Xiaomin burst into tears.
He squatted on the kang (a heated brick bed), at a loss for what to do.
Zhu Xiaomin cried as she looked at him, wondering why he hadn't left yet.
Why aren't you leaving yet?
Wu Weiguo then remembered.
"Let's go, let's go, I'm leaving now."
He said he would quickly get off the kang (a heated brick bed), then get back on and clean up the debris from the wooden window.
Suddenly, something came to mind.
"Oh, right, I have something to show you. Just wait."
Zhu Xiaomin watched him run out with teary eyes, and then saw him come back in carrying something.
She wiped away her tears, rubbed her red eyes, and when she realized it was the wolfskin hat she had made for Xia Zhoujian, she understood.
She burst into tears again.
Wu Weiguo scratched his head. Why is he crying again?
Explain quickly.
"I found this by the roadside when I went to Yumen Pass."
I picked it up because it looked like something you made. You must have made it, right?
See, he doesn't cherish you at all, so there's no need for you to be sad for him, right?
Good heavens, after he said that, Zhu Xiaomin burst into even louder sobs.
"Waaaaaaah!"
Wu Weiguo was completely confused. Had he made a mistake in his persuasion?
Zhu Xiaomin was too sad, and she didn't want anyone to see her in this state.
He simply grabbed a thin blanket and covered himself up, curling up into a ball inside.
Seeing her like this, Wu Weiguo was afraid she would feel suffocated, so he wanted to reach out and lift her blanket, but he was hesitant and didn't know where to put his hands for a moment.
Just when he was at a loss, Wang Guihua returned.
The first thing I saw when I saw the broken window was that I rushed inside.
When he saw that he was about to lift Zhu Xiaomin's blanket, his face instantly darkened!
"Wu Zhiqing, what are you doing?!"
Just as Wu Weiguo was at a loss, he saw Wang Guihua return.
