"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out, and a wild boar was hit directly in the head.
The other wild boar grunted when it heard the gunshot and tried to run away, but it didn't get far before Old Master Zhao fired another shot.
"Bang!"
The other wild boar was also hit in the head.
The two wild boars died instantly.
"Aww!"
A sudden animal cry startled Zhao Hongbing so much that he fell to the ground.
"Bear!"
Zhao Dayong quickly picked up his younger brother.
"It's a bear, Grandpa."
This was the first time Jiang Wenwan had ever heard a black bear roar in a rage. She had only ever seen them in zoos before, so hearing it suddenly was quite frightening.
“Jiang Zhiqing, go to the village and call some people to bring the two wild boars down the mountain. We'll watch over them here.”
Those bears usually don't come this way.
I'm not afraid even if it comes. Back when we were fighting in the forest, I've hunted bears before.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Wenwan nodded and immediately ran down the mountain.
Fearing the bear might actually come out, she ran as fast as she could down the mountain. By then, the villagers were already tilling the land and preparing the furrows, getting ready to plant corn and soybeans.
"Hey~ Grandpa Zhao killed two wild boars and asked me to come down and call people up the mountain to help carry them,"
She stood on the edge of the field and shouted, and several men from the village immediately rushed over.
"Did Fourth Master hunt a wild boar?"
"Where?"
"Come on, let's go into the mountains and help carry it down."
"In the twelve classes on the mountain."
"Daban" is a regional division in the mountain area; as long as you mention it, the villagers will know where it is.
After all, the villagers used to go hunting in the mountains.
There are also special forest protection teams, which are responsible for hunting wild boars and wolves in the mountains.
It was only disbanded last year, but there are still quite a few villagers who can go up the mountain with hoes.
But the work in the fields is more important now, so I've digressed.
Jiang Wenwan ran ahead and quickly led them to where Master Zhao and his group were.
"You really deserve all the credit, Master Zhao. Taking down two wild boars with just two shots is impressive."
"Let's all work together to carry the wild boar down."
There were five or six people together, plus Zhao Siye's two sons, making quite a large group.
Suddenly there was a rustling sound from the bushes.
"Woof!"
Jiang Wenwan immediately became alert, and two large black dogs rushed out.
"Jiang Zhiqing, don't be afraid. These are our family's hunting dogs."
Zhao Hongbing explained for a moment and then added:
“These two hunting dogs haven’t been up the mountain in a long time. Once they do, they’ve gone off to who knows where. They’ve only just come back.”
The two hunting dogs circled the wild boar for a moment before heading off in one direction.
Jiang Wenwan perked up and wanted to follow.
Someone grabbed the back of my collar.
Looking back, there were about twenty couples with Zhao Dayong.
After Zhao Dayong pulled her back by the back of her collar, he quickly let go.
He smiled sheepishly and said:
"Jiang Zhiqing, those two hunting dogs have probably spotted wild boars again. You shouldn't go; it's too dangerous."
“That’s right. Jiang Zhiqing, you’d better hurry down the mountain with the others. This wild boar is no joke.”
Listen to advice and you'll eat your fill.
Jiang Wenwan knew that the men from Northeast China were somewhat chauvinistic, especially since they would definitely not want to take her, a short, educated young woman from the city, on a hunting trip.
"Alright then, I won't join in the fun. I'll go down the mountain with them."
Seeing that she wasn't making a fuss about going to hunt wild boar, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that she was quite sensible.
Jiang Wenwan smiled. Wouldn't she come alone next time?
The villagers cheered as they carried the wild boar down the mountain.
Last time, the wild boar family only got a little over a pound of meat, but this time there are two wild boars, so the family will get more than two pounds.
Jiang Wenwan, who was slaughtering pigs, didn't join in the fun and handed the pig feed to Lanxiang for weighing.
"Well done, Jiang Zhiqing. You managed to collect thirty jin this morning. Not bad. I'll give you two work points."
Jiang Wenwan smiled and went to the Qiao family with the four rabbits hanging from her waist. She spent 1.2 yuan to have Uncle Qiao skin and pelt the rabbits.
She also took the three skins she had taken before, so now she has five skins.
She stewed one of the two pheasants and kept the other.
Next month, when the weather gets warmer, wild mushrooms will grow on the mountain.
I'll pick some wild mushrooms and pheasants, stew them together in a big iron pot, and just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Life couldn't be better.
She and Zhu Xiaomin ate together, and the two of them finished off a pot of stewed pheasant, leaving the others only able to smell the aroma and eat.
"Oh my, you two ate a whole pheasant?"
You guys have such big appetites! This afternoon we were dividing up the meat, and we ate all the meat from last time. This time we're planning to marinate it, so you guys can contribute some salt too!
"It can be pickled and stored for a long time, so you can cut some up and eat it whenever you want."
Jiang Wenwan and Zhu Xiaomin exchanged a glance.
"No need, just cut us some meat, we won't help with marinating it."
After Jiang Wenwan finished speaking, Zhu Xiaomin also said:
"Yes, just cut some for us. We'll stir-fry some dried radish and make noodles for dinner."
"You're asking unnecessary questions. They eat much better than us. Unlike us, we can't even bear to eat radishes; we have to pickle them into radish melons."
They even marinate the meat and eat it only occasionally.
They're so capable!
They can eat a whole chicken in one go.
After Hu Qinghua finished speaking, he picked up a piece of dried radish and ate a bite with his corn porridge.
Jiang Wenwan rolled her eyes at her.
"Did the lemon come to life, or did it get jealous?"
After retorting to her, Jiang Wenwan saw that Wang Jianguo was also looking at her with annoyance, and she laughed.
