Before even entering the room, Director Meng shouted in a loud voice:
"Hey, you little Lou, you always have to call me over for a meal."
I've just finished procuring the grain, I'm really busy. And you, Comrade Jiang, you're here too!
Jiang Wenwan nodded with a smile.
"I know you're very busy, Director Meng, but you still need to eat!"
This person needs food to survive; he'll get hungry if he misses a meal!
You need to be well-fed to have the energy to work and to think quickly.
When Director Meng heard what she said, he laughed and sat down.
"Comrade Jiang is right. Oh dear, I often forget to eat when I get busy. Over the years, my stomach has developed problems from hunger."
"Alright, I'm not in a rush. Now that we have food, I can finally relax."
Lou Xiao smiled and asked after hearing him say that:
"Want some drinks?"
Factory Director Meng quickly waved his hand.
"Sigh, no drink, no drink. I have so much work to do when I get back this afternoon!"
Then he said to Jiang Wenwan:
"The beer produced by our brewery is really good. Why don't you have a bottle to try?"
Jiang Wenwan also smiled and shook her head.
"I can't drink beer, but I can manage with some fruit wine!"
"Fruit wine? Isn't that a beverage?"
Hearing what Director Meng said, Jiang Wenwan shook her head.
"The fruit wine I'm talking about also contains alcohol."
I've heard that there are fruit beers with alcohol in other countries; I wonder what they taste like.
When Director Meng heard him say that, his brows furrowed.
"Alcoholic fruit beer? Can that even taste good?"
Jiang Wenwan smiled and shook her head.
"Who knows? We've only heard about it. Let's hurry up and eat."
As they were talking, the waiter brought out the dishes, and upon hearing this, Director Meng quickly said:
"Yes, yes, let's eat first."
Director Lou said you have a great talent for developing medicines, but I didn't expect you to be such a good businessman too!
"Since you're developing medicines, do you have any that are effective and fast-acting for treating stomach ailments?"
Hearing him say that, Jiang Wenwan said:
"Every medicine has some side effects. Since you have a bad stomach, you need to eat on time and drink more hot water."
Never let your stomach go hungry. If it does, it'll cause you a lot of trouble.
"After all this commotion, you're the one who suffers."
Factory Director Meng waved his hand.
"When things get busy, there's no time to even eat."
As he spoke, he picked up the bowl of fine rice and began shoveling it into his mouth quickly.
They were genuinely in a hurry to eat.
"Don't eat so fast, have some soup before you eat!"
"Okay, hurry up and fill your stomach, I have to go back to work."
Jiang Wenwan and Lou Xiao exchanged a glance; this guy really was a workaholic.
"That's how Lao Meng is. When he gets busy, he doesn't distinguish between day and night, and he doesn't even eat or drink."
I don't know how he managed to persevere.
"Okay, don't talk to me, I need to go back after I finish eating."
The two watched him quickly shovel rice into his mouth, pick up vegetables, shovel rice into his mouth again, and then, after finishing, put down his chopsticks and stood up, saying:
"You two enjoy your meal, I'm leaving now!"
Jiang Wenwan was speechless, watching with a smile as Director Meng hurriedly left.
Lou Xiao shook his head.
"That's just how Old Meng is!"
I want him to come over and listen to what you're saying about the fruit peel, to see if it can be displayed properly, and hopefully the result will be good.
But speaking of which, could you possibly develop a medicine to treat stomach ailments?
Jiang Wenwan shook her head.
"You're putting me in a difficult position, I have so many stomach problems."
There are causes such as stomach acid, bile, gastric mucosa, and intestinal peristalsis. If you simply want pain relief, it's like drinking poison to quench thirst.
Anyway, whatever the reason, it all comes down to food.
The saying "illness enters through the mouth" is absolutely true.
"Director Meng is so busy, isn't there anyone around to remind him to eat and drink?"
Lou Xiao shook his head and said:
"Old Meng has been working at the brewery for four or five years now. He's worked his way up from the very beginning. He's all about one thing: hard work!"
If it weren't for your help in getting that grain, he really wouldn't have kept his position as factory director.
They're definitely going to be removed from their positions.
That's a huge order from overseas; if we can't deliver, the losses will be enormous.
Jiang Wenwan was quite surprised.
Is it this curled?
A question suddenly came to mind.
"If he gets recorded, who will step in?"
Lou Xiao looked at her meaningfully, but didn't say anything.
Jiang Wenwan instantly understood, knowing that asking any more questions was not something she should ask.
"It's both Director Meng's good luck and my good luck that my friend needed to shred those rice grains."
It's all about timing and fate!
Isn't this what happens when the time, place, and people are all in harmony?
After Jiang Wenwan finished eating with Lou Xiao and Shi Zhu, she had nothing else to do.
Jiang Mo returned to the warehouse and began his work of finding suitable companies to participate in the trade fair.
Jiang Wennuan was fine; she was at the warehouse, waiting for Jiang Mo to come back.
There was a knock on the warehouse door.
She thought it was a delivery of jeans, but she didn't expect that the person who came was someone she didn't recognize at all.
Who are you looking for?
The other two were dressed in ordinary sailor shirts. The one in the lead glanced at Jiang Wenwan.
His gaze swept over her slightly protruding belly and he said:
"You're the one who looks after the warehouse, right?"
Did this warehouse ship out a batch of grain today and sell it to a brewery?
Upon hearing the question, Jiang Wenwan immediately nodded in agreement.
"Yes, that's true. What happened?"
The other person glanced around again and found that there was no one in the warehouse except for this pregnant woman.
