Chapter 88: Submitting the Marriage Report

Jiang Wenwan and Suanmiao exchanged a glance, put down the grilled fish in their mouths, and ran over to take a look.

In her mind, it must have been children from other villages who bullied him and stole his grilled fish.

When they got there, they saw it was Granny Sun.

"You bastard born of a slut, your mother is a slut, and your brother is a bastard born of a father but raised without one."

Still eating fish?

Bah! It's all because of your mother, that slutty woman, she's a jinx who brings bad luck to men.

You've caused my Sun family line to end, so why are you still alive, you little brat?

You still eat grilled fish? Do you deserve it?

I'll let you eat, I'll let you eat!

Jiang Wenwan ran over with a dark face and saw Granny Sun hitting the tie post with a stick.

She was holding a tied-up grilled fish in her other hand.

This old lady is really something else; she snatched the child's things and then hit him.

"Grandma Sun, stop right there!"

Jiang Wenwan rushed up, snatched the stick from her hand, and threw it far away.

When Granny Sun saw that her fire poker was gone, she immediately sat on the ground and threw a tantrum.

Jiang Wenwan subdued him, and then pulled the grilled fish off her other hand as well.

The grass carp was wrapped in a large leaf; it would be stolen. Granny Sun glared angrily at Jiang Wenwan.

“Give me back the fish. I want to give it to my son. You've all ruined him. What's wrong with giving him a fish?”

That female educated youth was truly heartless and utterly wicked!

Jiang Wenwan rolled her eyes at her and handed the fish to Shuanzhu.

"Go back first. In the future, stay away from that crazy woman and take a detour."

Turning to Granny Sun, she said:

"It's none of my business if you send food to your son, but you can't touch the things I send out."

Who is truly evil?

Your own son is utterly wicked and about to be shot, yet you still say I'm utterly wicked.

The eyes of the masses are discerning; they know who is truly wicked. How could you possibly be any better after having such a son?

Snatching things from a child, disrespectful to elders, oh right, and throwing a tantrum—go ahead and throw your tantrum all you want, I'll consider it a loss if I even look at you.

He turned and left, not wanting to pay any attention to Granny Sun.

Even though her grandson and son are both dead, she is a pitiful person, but there must be something hateful about her.

Moreover, if the hateful aspects outweigh the pitiful aspects, then it is not worthy of sympathy.

Let Granny Sun sit on the ground and throw a tantrum, while Garlic Sprouts and Hongwei followed Jiang Wenwan back to continue eating grilled fish.

They took the remaining grilled fish back with them. After a hearty meal in the evening, they returned to the educated youth settlement with a few bighead carp.

When Ma Debi returned, he was carrying a rabbit.

I was incredibly excited.

"Jiang Zhiqing, Jiang Zhiqing, look, I've caught a rabbit."

"I only spent an afternoon learning to hit that tree accurately, then I randomly picked a rabbit to practice on, and I actually managed to hit it."

As he spoke, he placed the rabbit on the stove and bowl.

"Spicy rabbit meat, Jiang Zhiqing, if you make it, I'll treat everyone to it, hahaha, from now on I can live a life where I can eat meat every day."

When everyone heard that he was treating the people at the educated youth settlement to a big meal, their eyes lit up.

Jiang Wenwan smiled as she looked at the fish she had brought back.

"Looks like we're destined for a big meal today."

I've caught quite a few fish here.

"Oh, what a great day! I'll take another day off tomorrow, and we'll continue our ascent up the mountain."

"Looks like you really want to massacre the mountain!"

She talked as she taught Zhu Xiaomin how to cook.

After the spicy rabbit meat and braised bighead carp were cooked, everyone in the educated youth settlement had a meal together.

The next day, when Jiang Wenwan was making boiled fish fillets, Hu Qinghua came over, clearly wanting to learn how to make them.

Jiang Wenwan wouldn't teach her; she simply grabbed a spatula and chased her away.

"I told you we'd keep to ourselves, but if you keep coming near me, believe me, I'll throw you into the latrine."

Hu Qinghua's lips twitched.

"I just wanted to see what dishes you made today?"

What's so great about it?

Besides, I've never seen you cook so many delicious dishes at home before. Who taught you to cook like this?

Isn't it a bit late for this person to start having doubts now?

"Of course it's Old Zhang from the clinic!"

Oh, you didn't know that!

Old Zhang is teaching me medicine. He said I can get a barefoot doctor's certificate someday, so I can treat patients without having to work in a factory!

Seeing Hu Qinghua's contorted expression, Jiang Wenwan chuckled.

I don't even bother with this female lead, but she insists on coming up to me, so I can't blame her for getting angry.

Then he said to Zhu Xiaomin, who was standing next to him:

"What will Minmin eat tomorrow?"

Zhu Xiaomin chuckled.

"I love any dish you make. Who told you to cook so well?"

He's a thousand times, ten thousand times better than some people!

Jiang Wenwan pretended to be deep in thought for a moment.

"Then when I go up the mountain to gather pig feed tomorrow, I'll pick mushrooms and also hunt a couple of pheasants."

Let's have chicken stew with mushrooms.

"Okay, okay!"

I love chicken stew with mushrooms the most. The chicken stew with mushrooms you made last time was so delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now.

"Okay, let's have chicken stew with mushrooms tomorrow."

Let's have braised pork ribs the day after tomorrow!

Or sweet and sour?

Sigh, then let's make two dishes, one braised and one sweet and sour.

I'll also buy a few more pig trotters; we'll braise some.

Jiang Wenwan kept her word and made chicken stew with mushrooms the next day.

The aroma wafted for miles, not to mention the people at the educated youth settlement who were all drawn by the fragrance.

Envious tears streamed from the corners of her mouth.

Then, just like Maddie, they reluctantly took out a dollar to buy a serving.
