Qin Ye stared at the long string of numbers, completely bewildered.
All he knew was that they had spent almost all of those two heavy boxes of gold bars in just over an hour.
Su Tang set the receiving point for all the items in a large warehouse that she had temporarily rented with the robot Xiao Feng. When the two arrived, they were no longer faced with a list on a virtual screen, but with real, mountain-like supplies.
Ten thousand bags of rice and ten thousand bags of flour were piled up into two small white mounds, almost touching the roof of the warehouse. Frozen crates containing various kinds of meat were stacked together, like a wall that seemed to stretch endlessly.
Without hesitation, Su Tang used her mental power to manipulate the space, and the mountain of rice vanished into thin air.
Next up is a mountain of flour.
Then came the row of oil drums, the wall of flesh... excavators, tractors, machine tools... in less than five minutes, the huge warehouse that was originally packed full became empty.
The next second, she felt a slight warmth in her spatial ring. When she probed it with her mental energy, she saw that a mountain of supplies had appeared out of thin air on the open ground, a truly magnificent sight.
On a whim, she began to quickly categorize and organize the items.
Rice and flour were stored in the granary, meat was stacked in the cold storage area, and various machines were neatly arranged in another open space.
However, after sorting through all the supplies, Su Tang frowned slightly.
She knew that although the space was filled to the brim, the core energy of the space had not increased at all.
While these industrially produced grains, oils, steel, and machinery are practical, they cannot be absorbed and transformed by space, let alone drive space upgrades.
To allow space to evolve again, or even to find a way to completely solidify the connection between the two spacetimes, we need to find another way.
That's why she thought of asking K to help her find information about auction houses and the Museum of England, where a large number of antiques, jewelry, jade... especially those national treasures, are the source of food for space upgrades.
Now that she's come, she can't possibly leave empty-handed.
By the time I finished all that, it was already getting dark.
The two found a fully automated hotel to rest.
In the room, the walls can change color according to your mood, the windows can simulate various landscapes such as beaches and forests, and even the bed can automatically adjust its firmness and temperature.
Qin Ye, a soldier who usually slept on hard beds and found even a single mattress on a military cot too soft, felt his muscles tense up as he lay on the smart bed that was so big he could sink into it. He felt uncomfortable no matter how he lay down, even more so than when he was lying in ambush in the snow.
"Not used to it?" Su Tang came out of the shower, her hair still wet and draped over her shoulders, exuding a fresh fragrance. Seeing him sitting upright, as if in a meeting, she couldn't help but smile.
She took out two glass bottles of orange soda and an enamel mug from her storage space.
"Try this."
Qin Ye took the soda and stared blankly at the familiar red characters "State-owned Soda Factory" printed on the bottle.
The familiar packaging, the soft "pop" sound when the cap is unscrewed, the pungent bubbles... it's something from his era.
Where did it come from?
"I stockpiled it," Su Tang said matter-of-factly. "I grabbed it while browsing that warehouse, thinking you might like it."
Qin Ye opened the bottle, tilted his head back, and took a big gulp. The familiar sweetness, tinged with industrial saccharin, instantly washed away the strangeness and shock of the future world. He felt his heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settle down.
He put down the soda bottle, turned to look at Su Tang, and his deep eyes were filled with turbulent emotions.
He pulled her hand and made her sit down next to him.
The smart mattress sank slightly under her weight, and the two of them were very close, able to smell the fresh scent of shampoo in her hair.
"Tangtang," his voice was a little hoarse, "thank you for your hard work today."
He knew that everything his wife did was not just for her own benefit, but also for a greater good.
