Jiang Sushuang cried for a while, then suddenly seemed to remember something, jumped up from the ground, and rushed to her bedroom like a madwoman.
"Mine! My things are still here!" she muttered as she ran.
Su Dongcheng followed behind her with a gloomy face.
The bedroom door was wide open.
Jiang Sushuang rushed to the dressing table and opened the drawer—it was empty!
I opened the jewelry box—it was empty!
She rushed to the bedside, lifted the mattress, and groped for the hidden compartment in the bedside table—it was still empty!
All her gold and silver jewelry, her hard-earned savings, and all her receipts have vanished!
"ah--!"
Jiang Sushuang completely broke down. Like a mad lioness, she turned around abruptly, her bloodshot eyes fixed on Su Dongcheng.
"Su Dongcheng! It's you! It must be you!"
She screamed and lunged at him, her fingernails scratching at Su Dongcheng's face like sharp claws.
"You stole all my things! You conspired with that little bitch Su Tang to scheme against me! How cruel you are!"
Caught off guard, Su Dongcheng was scratched several times on his face, leaving stinging marks.
"Crazy woman! What's wrong with you!" He shoved Jiang Sushuang away.
Jiang Sushuang was pushed and staggered, but quickly bounced back like a spring and continued to fight.
"I'll fight you to the death! You heartless bastard! You've been treating me like a fool! Have you been planning to take all of the Su family's assets and then kick me aside?!"
"Do you think I don't know your dirty thoughts? You've been eyeing the Su family's money for a long time! Back when Su Henian was still alive, you were always hanging around me, just trying to take advantage of me, weren't you?"
"And the bank! The things in the bank's safe deposit box, you must have done that too! You traitorous beast!"
Jiang Sushuang cursed as she used her hands and feet to grab hair, choke neck, and kick calves, completely abandoning her usual noblewoman demeanor.
Su Dongcheng was so angry at her shrewish behavior that he lost all sense of propriety.
"Jiang Sushuang! Stop making baseless accusations!"
He began to fight back, grabbing Jiang Sushuang's wrist and forcefully shaking it off.
"I bet you stole the jewelry from the bank yourself, intending to keep it all for yourself and then frame me! Do you think I don't know how much money you've been hiding?!"
"You insatiable woman! If it weren't for the fact that you're still somewhat useful, I would have dumped you long ago!"
Just then, footsteps came from the stairs.
Jiang Xinyue rubbed her sleepy eyes, wearing her pajamas, and walked downstairs with a blank expression.
"Mom? Uncle Su? What...what are you doing?"
Su Dongcheng shoved away Jiang Sushuang, who was still scratching at him, straightened his collar which had been pulled askew, and his face was so gloomy it could drip water.
He looked at Jiang Xinyue, his eyes sharp: "Xinyue, were you in the room the whole time?"
"Yes...yes, Uncle Su. I...I was sleeping just now."
"Did you hear any strange noises while you were sleeping?"
"No... I was sleeping very soundly, I didn't hear or see anything."
"Has my house been burgled? Should I call the police?!"
Upon hearing the words "call the police," Jiang Sushuang reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, shrieking:
"Why call the police! Don't wash your dirty linen in public!"
She now suspects Su Dongcheng, but has no evidence.
Su Dongcheng stared intently at Jiang Xinyue, seemingly trying to discern some flaw in her expression.
But Jiang Xinyue maintained an innocent and terrified demeanor throughout.
Could it really be that little bitch Su Tang?
But how did she do it?
Su Dongcheng and Jiang Sushuang were suspicious of each other, their eyes filled with doubt and resentment, and they were almost about to fight again.
Just then—
"Bang!"
The heavy, carved gate of the Su family's old mansion was kicked open from the outside!
