Chapter 170 Bringing Three Little Followers to Fight for a Bed (1/2)

Su Tang didn't look at the crowded people, but quickly scanned the overall layout of the barracks.

There were two three-story barracks in total. The one closest to everyone was Barracks No. 1. Su Tang looked deeper inside and sure enough, there was another barracks. She saw that the two instructors distributing supplies in Barracks No. 1 were male, and she instantly understood what was going on.

Lei Kuan's shout of "Dismissed!" was like igniting a powder keg, and most people instinctively rushed to the front of the barracks, the one closest to them.

It instantly became a crowded mess.

The sounds of pushing, shoving, cursing, and things falling were mixed together, creating a scene as chaotic as a vegetable market.

With this layout, there would definitely be more than one instructor responsible for distributing supplies, with the largest number of people at the front and the smallest at the back.

The head instructor only gave us fifteen minutes. If we wasted our time queuing and crowding, we wouldn't get anything done and would just have to wait to be punished.

Su Tang's gaze fell to the side beside her.

Wang Xiaoya was being jostled about by the crowd, her small frame seemingly about to be swallowed up at any moment. Her face was filled with fear and helplessness as she clutched her patched-up little bundle tightly.

Su Tang sighed, and then reached out and grabbed her thin arm.

"Follow me."

Her voice was like a reassuring pill, instantly piercing through the noisy crowd and clearly reaching Wang Xiaoya's ears.

Wang Xiaoya suddenly looked up and saw Su Tang's eyes, which remained calm and undisturbed amidst the chaos. Miraculously, her panicked heart calmed down.

She nodded subconsciously and gripped Su Tang's hand tightly.

Beside them, Liu Landi, with her dark skin, and Chen Xiaocao, with her delicate features, were equally at a loss. Like Wang Xiaoya, they had been squeezed out of the crowd and were staring blankly at everything in front of them.

Seeing Su Tang pull Wang Xiaoya and turn to walk in the opposite direction from the crowd, the two looked at each other and saw hesitation in each other's eyes.

"Hey, you two went the wrong way, didn't you? Aren't you going that way? Everyone's running that way..." Chen Xiaocao was kind-hearted. Seeing that Su Tang had gone the wrong way, she specially jogged a few steps to catch up and reminded her. Her voice was soft and gentle, with a soft and sweet quality typical of the Jiangnan water towns.

Su Tang didn't stop walking, but simply replied, "There are too many people over there. By the time you get to them, fifteen minutes will have already passed. By then, you won't even have time to change your clothes."

One sentence awakened the person from their dream.

Liu Landi and Chen Xiaocao's minds went blank for a moment, and they instantly understood.

Yes! Only fifteen minutes in total! Changing clothes and assembling, time is incredibly tight! The hundreds of people in front of you are all crammed together, pushing and shoving each other. By the time it's your turn, it'll be too late!

How come this pretty girl, dressed in shabby clothes just like them, is so clear-headed?!

Chen Xiaocao's face turned pale instantly. She glanced at the chaotic crowd in the distance, then at Su Tang's composed back, and felt a wave of fear wash over her.

Liu Landi, on the other hand, was decisive. A glint of light flashed in her sharp eyes, and without any hesitation, she immediately said to Chen Xiaocao, "Let's go, follow her!"

After saying that, she took big strides and followed closely behind. Seeing this, Chen Xiaocao quickly clutched her small bundle and started jogging to keep up.

And so, while everyone was rushing toward Barracks No. 1, Su Tang, with three "little tails" she had temporarily picked up, bypassed the most chaotic crowd from the flank and ran with a clear goal toward the quietest-looking building at the very back of the barracks area.

Just as Su Tang had predicted, it was exactly the same.

Sure enough, there was a table set up at the entrance of Barracks No. 2, and behind the table sat Zhang Ruobing, a female instructor in charge of registering and distributing supplies.
