Su Tang had just put down her gun and hadn't even had a chance to catch her breath when she was surrounded by dozens of male soldiers. The scene was even more exaggerated than when the military region leaders came down for an inspection.
These male soldiers were as enthusiastic as burning flames, vying to volunteer themselves, and almost got into a fight over who could stand closer to Su An.
"Comrade Su An! Choose me! I'm fast and can be your human shield! I promise, I'll be the first to block bullets for you!" A muscular man patted his chest, the sound echoing through the mountains.
"Get out of the way! You call that a meat shield? You're a moving target!" Another tall, thin guy pushed forward, not to be outdone. "Su An! I'm one of the top three fighters in the whole battalion! I'll protect you! Anyone who dares to lay a finger on you, I'll be the first to break their legs!"
“Su’an, don’t listen to their bragging! I can cook! I can make things for you out of leaves! I can make sure you have a hot meal even in the mountains!” a seemingly honest young man shouted, his face flushed.
Su Tang's head was throbbing from the noise, but her heart remained calm, and she even found it somewhat amusing.
This is reality.
When you are weak, even breathing is wrong; when you are strong enough to decide the life and death of others, you are surrounded by smiling faces and kind people.
One second these people thought she was a madwoman with a broken gun, and the next second they regarded her as a savior.
"Make way! Make way!"
The girls in the dormitory also realized what was happening.
Wang Xiaoya and Chen Xiaocao rushed over immediately, flanking Su Tang like two ruffled hens, warily watching every male soldier who tried to approach.
"Stop pushing!" Chen Xiaocao shouted, her cheeks puffed out. "Su An has her own ideas. How can she choose if you surround her like this!"
"Exactly!" Wang Xiaoya chimed in. "Everyone, step back a bit! We haven't agreed on this yet! If you keep pushing, we'll get squashed!"
Liu Landi stood silently behind Su Tang. She didn't say a word, but her sharp, wolf-like eyes were enough to deter those with ill intentions.
Zhao Yan and Zhou Zhihui exchanged a glance and quickly walked over.
“Su An,” Zhao Yan’s tone was unusually polite, even ingratiating, “that was all a misunderstanding when we were running before. It’s inevitable to bump into each other during training. Don’t take it to heart.”
She paused, then changed the subject, stating her purpose directly: "The next match is a real battle, so we in Dormitory Number One should unite. Look, the two of us aren't bad either, how about..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but her meaning was clear: she wanted to team up with Su An and share that glittering "get-out-of-jail-free card."
Looking at the polite face that had never appeared before her before, Su Tang knew perfectly well what was going on. This Zhao Yan was truly capable of bending and stretching for the sake of profit.
She raised her hand and gently pressed it down.
The noisy crowd miraculously quieted down, all eyes focused on her, holding their breath and waiting for her decision.
Su Tang cleared her throat, and her voice reached everyone's ears clearly.
"Thank you all for your kind offer." She glanced around, her expression unreadable. "However, I already have teammates."
What? !
One stone stirs up a thousand waves!
The entire firing range erupted in chaos!
"You have teammates? Who are they? When did this happen?"
"Holy crap, who's that fast? They snatched the biggest leg away in the blink of an eye!"
"It's all over! My get-out-of-jail-free card is gone! My life is so miserable!"
