Chapter 20 First-Class Merit! The Municipal Party Committee Personally Delivered the Medal (2/2)

Her words were brief, but the meaning was very clear.

Both Director Zhao and Lin Wenbo were somewhat surprised by these words.

Commander Zhang was astute as he was, and immediately understood her meaning. He laughed heartily, "So it's a hero's marriage! This is wonderful news!"

"Comrade Su Tang, rest assured! The organization will definitely provide you with the greatest convenience and support in this matter!"

"We will handle your travel permit and related procedures with special urgency and simplicity!"

Things went exceptionally smoothly.

Su Tang breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed the road to Tibet had been paved.

A few days before her departure, her grandmother and uncle held a farewell party for Su Tang.

My aunt was busy in the kitchen, while my grandmother was directing her from the side.

While her grandmother and aunt weren't looking, Su Tang quietly slipped into the kitchen, pretending to help out.

In fact, she took out several main dishes that she had already prepared using the "one-click cooking" function from her space.

There are braised lion's head meatballs, sweet and sour pork ribs, steamed sea bass, and a matsutake mushroom stewed chicken that's so delicious it'll make your eyebrows fall off.

The aroma of these dishes was so enticing that it left my grandmother, uncles, and aunts speechless.

"Oh my, Wenbo's family, when did your cooking skills become so good? These dishes are comparable to those of the head chefs at state-run restaurants!" Grandma picked up a piece of braised pork with her chopsticks, her eyes squinting as she ate.

My aunt looked surprised and bewildered: "Mom, this...this doesn't seem to be what I made..."

Su Tang smiled and said, "Grandma, Aunt, maybe I caught a bit of the fairy's aura when I was helping out!"

The whole family burst into laughter at her antics, filling the house with a joyful atmosphere.

After the meal, Grandma took Su Tang's hand and began to chatter on about what she would need for the journey.

"Tangtang, this is an old cotton-padded coat that your grandfather used to wear. It's thick and windproof! It's cold in Tibet, so take it with you."

"And this, an enamel mug, you can use it for drinking and eating, it's sturdy!"

"These are a few kilograms of national grain coupons and Shanghai cloth coupons. Although it's not much, we might be able to use them on the way."

"Oh, and these two pairs of cloth shoes with thousand-layer soles that I made myself. They're comfortable to wear and don't tire your feet when you walk in them."

As Grandma spoke, she stuffed the things into an old canvas bag that was patched in several places.

Looking at those things, Su Tang felt a warm glow in her heart.

These things, which seem insignificant in the 22nd century, are now the best things Grandma could give her.

"Grandma, there's too much. I can't carry all of this by myself," Su Tang said with a smile. Although, as long as there's space, it's actually quite easy to carry even a lot of things.

"Silly child, it's not much, it's not much! Grandma is just worried that you'll suffer out there!" Grandma's eyes reddened again. "I've heard that the Tibetan region is much harder than here, and you're a young girl..."

Su Tang quickly comforted her, "Grandma, don't worry. Didn't Qin Ye say he's already a regimental commander? His living conditions shouldn't be too bad. Besides, I still have hands and feet, I can take care of myself wherever I go."

She took out the land deed for the Su family's old house from her bag and solemnly handed it to her grandmother.

"Grandma, this old Su family house will be handed over to you from now on. Whether you want to rent it out or sell it is up to you."

Grandma quickly declined, saying, "This is absolutely not allowed! This was left to you by your parents, how could Grandma accept it!"

"Grandma, please keep this for me. I'm in Tibet and won't need it. I'll feel more at ease if you take it," Su Tang insisted.

Grandma couldn't refuse her, so she had to accept it, saying, "When you come back in the future, Grandma will give it back to you exactly as it was."

Su Tang smiled and said nothing more.
