Su Tang broke off a small piece of biscuit and put it in her mouth, chewing slowly, and continued to analyze for her: "What we need to do now is not to fight them for the bones, but to wait until they have taken all the meat, and then we will take the pot away."
"Carry the pot?" Chen Xiaocao seemed to understand but not quite.
“That’s right.” Su Tang smiled. “The teams on the mountain now are either those who won but have exhausted their ammunition and stamina, or those who lost and are hiding, afraid to show their faces. They are all carrying flags that they have worked hard to capture. These are our real targets.”
Chen Xiaocao's eyes widened as she finally understood Su Tang's plan.
They weren't looking for bargains; they were... waiting to rob us!
The thought made her heart race.
Just then, a series of hurried footsteps and suppressed arguing came from not far away.
Su Tang immediately made a shushing gesture, pulled Chen Xiaocao down to squat, and hid in a hollow tree. The tree hole was very well hidden, covered by vines, with only a gap for observation.
Two male soldiers ran over one after the other, but they both looked disheveled, their faces and bodies covered in mud and paint, clearly having been through a fierce battle.
When Su Tang saw who it was, she raised her eyebrows slightly.
What a coincidence!
These two male soldiers were the same ones who had mocked her and Chen Xiaocao as a "useless duo" when they were freely forming teams at the shooting range.
One was named Wang Lei, and the other was named Li Gang. They were average students, but they had a particular fondness for forming cliques and bullying the weak.
"It's all your fault! You had to go and steal Zhao Yan's yellow flag! Now look what happened! You got tricked by Zhao Yan and her group, and you almost died there!" Wang Lei complained angrily.
Li Gang leaned against a tree, panting heavily, his face grim: "How was I supposed to know they would team up with Bai Wei! Six people against the two of us, we're lucky we even escaped!"
"Where are Sister Qiao Lin and Du Jinshan? Didn't they go in that direction? Why didn't they come to help us?"
"Ha, help us?" Wang Lei sneered. "You still expect her to help us? With her attitude towards contracts, we'd be lucky if she didn't stab us in the back. She doesn't even remember we formed an alliance."
Their conversation revealed a wealth of information.
Zhao Yan and Bai Wei have formed an alliance, and it's a large team of six people.
Qiao Lin and Du Jinshan seemed to have formed an alliance with the two male soldiers in front of them, but when they saw Zhao Yan and her group of six coming in a menacing manner, they abandoned their alliance and ran away.
The situation on the mountain was even more chaotic than Su Tang had imagined.
"No, we have to find a place to hide right away. We only have one green flag on us, and if we get touched again, we're doomed!" Wang Lei looked around in panic.
"Hide? Where can we hide?" Li Gang looked utterly desperate.
Suddenly, Wang Lei's gaze fell on the hollow tree where they were hiding.
"There! We can hide in that tree hole!" Wang Lei grabbed Li Gang as if he had grasped a lifeline and pulled him over.
Su Tang's heart sank slightly.
Chen Xiaocao also tensed up. She subconsciously gripped the gun in her hand and looked at Su Tang with a questioning look in her eyes.
