Chapter 32: He took down three grown men in one go?! (1/2)

"jeep?"

Could they be reinforcements for the enemy? Or... civilians who have been coerced?

"Order the troops to prepare for battle! Snipers, prioritize locking onto the enemy leader's vehicle! Don't fire on that jeep yet; assess the situation first!"

"yes!"

The convoy of remnants of the Nationalist army, like a flock of frightened birds, finally and reluctantly drove into the narrow valley of Yingchoujian.

Qin Ye had already ordered his men to set up a makeshift checkpoint at the entrance of the valley, where several soldiers in military overcoats stood armed with guns.

The lead car in the convoy was stopped, and a man in a leather jacket with shifty eyes jumped out and walked towards Qin Ye with a big smile on his face.

"Sir, sir, you've worked hard! Patrolling in this heavy snow!"

He took out a "Daqianmen" cigarette and was about to stuff it into Qin Ye's hand.

Qin Ye avoided the question with a blank expression: "Routine inspection, open the carriage."

The man's eyes darted around, and he chuckled awkwardly:

"Oh, sir, this is all grain we're transporting to the border ranches to support their construction. You can see for yourself!"

He walked to a truck, lifted a corner of the canvas to reveal neatly stacked sacks inside, with the words "Support the frontier, build our homeland" printed in red on them.

"It's just flour and rice, nothing valuable. Sir, please be lenient so we can get on our way sooner, right?"

Qin Ye snorted coldly:

"Enough talk! Open all the carriages! Check them one by one!"

"All of them?!" The man's smile froze, and sweat began to bead on his forehead.

He thought that when the People's Liberation Army checked vehicles, they would at most look at a few disguised ones outside. He never expected that this dark-faced, god-like officer would check every single vehicle and every single box!

Qin Ye's soldiers had already begun their work, deftly prying open the wooden crates covered with canvas with crowbars.

"Reporting, Commander! This box contains flour!"

"Reporting, Commander! This box contains rice!"

...

The first few trucks were indeed carrying grain.

The man in the leather jacket breathed a slight sigh of relief, thinking that he might be able to get away with it.

Just then, a soldier pried open a large wooden crate on a truck in the middle. What was revealed inside was not a sack, but bronze artifacts that gleamed with a faint light and some ancient porcelain pieces!

"Commander! This box...this box contains cultural relics!"

The man in the leather jacket turned deathly pale instantly, and he suddenly let out a sharp whistle!

"Bang! Bang bang!"

Almost at the same time the whistle blew, people popped out of every truck in the convoy, brandishing all sorts of guns and firing wildly at the checkpoint!

"attack!"

Qin Ye was prepared and gave the order!

The light machine guns and submachine guns that were lying in ambush on the high ground on both sides of the canyon roared at the same time!

A hail of bullets rained down on the convoy of the remaining Nationalist troops!

"Da da da da!"

"boom!"

Gunshots, explosions, and screams instantly echoed throughout Yingchoujian!

The remaining Nationalist troops were caught off guard, their men and horses were thrown into disarray, and their vehicles were riddled with bullets in an instant.

The battle escalated to a fever pitch right from the start!

The deafening gunshots could be heard clearly from two miles away.

Old Li was so frightened he almost lost his grip on the steering wheel: "Gun...gunshots! There's fighting ahead! Su, what...what do we do?"

Su Tang's eyes remained calm:

"Brother Li, don't panic! Pull the car over to the side and turn off the engine! Remember, no matter what happens, stay in the car and don't move, lie low!"
