Qin Ye paused, his gaze shifting from the document to Qiao Lin's cat-like face, sharp as a sword.
"The last one is today. At 4:55 a.m., there will be a Level 1 emergency assembly. As a soldier, instead of thinking about how to complete the preparations as quickly as possible, you're in your dormitory applying makeup, making your lips look like a monkey's bottom, and smearing your face like a theatrical performer. Qiao Lin, tell me, are you preparing to go to the battlefield to kill the enemy, or are you preparing to...seduce the enemy?"
With a loud "boom!", the crowd erupted in suppressed laughter.
The words "seduce the enemy" were more insulting than any punishment, instantly turning Qiao Lin's face a deep liver color!
Qin Ye put down the report in his hand, his cold eyes looking at her one last time, delivering his final judgment.
According to Article 17, Paragraph 3 of the "Regulations for the Management of Trainees in the 'Hunter' Preparatory Camp": Anyone who performs poorly, is lax in their thinking, or has a lax work style during training, or who makes serious mistakes in major exercises and assessments that cause significant losses to the collective, may be expelled from the camp upon verification by the command and approval by more than two-thirds of the instructors.
The four words "clear out of the camp" were like four sharp knives, piercing deeply into Qiao Lin's heart.
Her mind went blank, and she swayed unsteadily.
Qin Ye's voice was like a guillotine falling to the ground, cold and ruthless.
"Qiao Lin, your name is at the very top of this dismissal list."
"After deliberation by the command, it has been decided that Qiao Lin, a former cadet of the No. 3 Battalion, has serious problems with her ideology and conduct and fails to meet military standards. She is to be immediately removed from the reserve battalion, returned to her place of origin, and her file will contain a major demerit!"
"No--!!"
The color drained from Qiao Lin's face instantly, and her frozen expression finally collapsed, letting out a shrill scream.
She couldn't believe her ears; this was worse than death! Being expelled from the camp, a major demerit recorded in her fileāher life was over! How could she ever return to the capital? How could she face her sisters who were waiting to see her fail?
"Instructor! You can't do this to me!" She rushed forward like a madwoman, trying to grab Qin Ye's arm, but he stepped back and easily dodged her.
She rushed towards empty air, and completely broke down, crying out:
"I was wrong! Instructor Qin, I was really wrong! I'll never do it again! Please give me another chance! My father is Commander Qiao of the Beijing Military Region! You can't fire me!"
Even at this point, she was still bringing up her family background, which was her last lifeline.
However, she was facing Qin Ye.
Qin Ye looked at her face, which was a mess from crying, dust, and face cream, and his disgust was undisguised.
"Here, who your father is is irrelevant." His voice was icy cold. "The army is a place for the strong, not a place for people like you who treat the battlefield like a stage and the barracks like a playground. Your father, a division commander, has spent half his life in the military, and you've completely disgraced him today!"
He didn't even bother to look at her again, and waved to Lei Kuan.
"Instructor Zhang, there are four other people on the list. Deal with them as well. Call the disciplinary officers over and take them away."
These words completely shattered Qiao Lin's last hope and made everyone present feel the instructor's ruthless and merciless nature once again.
"Yes!" Instructor Zhang Ruobing responded loudly and immediately turned around to relay the order.
Soon, two soldiers wearing red armbands with the word "Military Inspector" on their arms walked over in step, expressionless. One on each side, they lifted up Qiao Lin, who was already crying uncontrollably, like a chick.
"No! Let me go! You can't touch me! I'm Commander Qiao's daughter!"
Qiao Lin struggled frantically, but her strength was no match for the two burly policemen.
Her makeup, a mixture of tears and dust, had turned into a comical, smeared face. Her lips, drawn with red paper, had smudged and looked like they were bleeding, making her look utterly wretched.
