Chapter 386 A Horrifying Experience in the Water Room (2/2)

Sun Dahai's arrival even alerted the dorm next door. Everyone was wondering what great thing Sun Dahai, a veteran of the armory, could bring to Su An.

Amidst the questioning gazes of everyone in the dormitory, Su Tang simply nodded calmly.

She glanced back at Wang Xiaoya and said, "I'm going over there. You should get some rest and not overthink things."

"Yes!" Wang Xiaoya nodded vigorously, her face genuinely happy for Su Tang. "Sister Su An, you should go quickly, don't keep the leaders waiting!"

Su Tang followed Sun Dahai and left in a hurry.

Inside the dormitory, the girls were still excitedly discussing.

No one noticed the insane jealousy and resentment that flashed in Bai Wei's eyes when she heard Sun Dahai's words, "a tremendous good thing" and "a great mission."

The night grew deeper.

The female soldiers, exhausted from a long day, quickly drifted off to sleep.

Wang Xiaoya lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

She felt at ease when Su Tang was around during the day. But now that Su Tang was gone, the fear she had felt in the confinement room surged back like a tide.

She thought of Bai Wei.

The woman's timid and hesitant demeanor during the day did not make her feel relieved; instead, it made her uneasy.

She always felt that something even more terrifying was hidden behind those eyes.

I worked up a sweat during training today, and my training clothes felt sticky and uncomfortable.

Wang Xiaoya quietly climbed out of bed, carrying her washbasin and dirty clothes, preparing to go to the bathroom to take a shower.

The water room was empty late at night.

The old faucet wasn't turned off properly, and water dripped down, making a clear "drip, drip" sound in the quiet night.

Wang Xiaoya filled a basin with hot water, took off her clothes, and was about to wash herself when the door behind her clicked shut from the outside.

Wang Xiaoya's heart skipped a beat, and a chill ran from the soles of her feet straight to the top of her head.

"Who? Who's outside?" She grabbed a piece of clothing and held it to her chest, her voice trembling with nervousness.

Outside the door, all was deathly silent.

Only the "drip, drip" sound of water seemed to be counting down for her.

Wang Xiaoya's heart was beating faster and faster, and she felt her throat was dry.

Just as she was about to be driven mad by the eerie silence, a faint voice came from behind the door.

"Little girl, it's me."

It's Bai Wei!

Wang Xiaoya's pupils suddenly contracted, and the hairs on her body stood on end.

"What...what do you want to do?!"

Bai Wei, standing outside the door, let out a soft laugh.

The laughter echoed in the empty washroom, sounding eerie and jarring.

"I don't want to do anything." Bai Wei's voice was very soft, but it was like the forked tongue of a viper, carrying a cold, sticky feeling. "I just... want to talk to you."

"I have nothing to talk to you about! Open the door now!" Wang Xiaoya pressed her back tightly against the cold wall, as if that could bring her a sense of security.

Her mind was now filled with Bai Wei's lies and slanderous face. This woman locked herself in the bathroom in the middle of the night; she definitely had no good intentions!

"Don't be afraid, little girl." The voice outside the door was still gentle, even with a hint of grievance. "I really didn't mean any harm. I just... wanted to apologize to you."
