Chapter 437 The Third Acupuncture Session (1/2)

Chapter 437 The Third Acupuncture Treatment Over the next two days, beneath an eerie calm, undercurrents were stirring within Camp Three.

The grueling "Hell Week" training continues, leaving everyone exhausted and drained of their last ounce of strength. But everyone knows this is just the calm before the storm. Two days later, the final combat assessment will determine everyone's fate.

In this suffocating atmosphere, the infirmary became a kind of "Shangri-La".

Every afternoon at the same time, Su Tang would appear here on time. Jiang Yan, on the other hand, would conveniently be lying in a hospital bed, waiting for his "attending doctor" because of a "sprained ankle requiring continuous observation".

New recruit medic Li Xiaoge became the perfect shield for the two. Every day at the same time, she would bring Bai Wei, who was in the isolation room, a meal in hand, with mixed feelings. This created a precious, undisturbed half hour for Su Tang and Jiang Yan.

Today is the third and final acupuncture session.

The treatment room in the infirmary was still filled with that strong, overpowering smell of bone-setting liquid.

Jiang Yan, his muscular upper body bare, lay quietly on the hospital bed, the muscles in his back smooth and firm, like a lurking cheetah. Unlike the tension and stiffness of the previous two times, he appeared incredibly relaxed and at ease at this moment.

Su Tang's technique remained precise and skillful. Without uttering any extra words, she held a three-inch-long silver needle in her slender fingers, disinfected it, and then precisely inserted it into an acupoint on the back of Jiang Yan's neck.

"Can you feel anything?" Su Tang asked as she slowly twisted the end of the needle.

"Yes." Jiang Yan's voice carried a hint of barely perceptible excitement. "A warm current, very comfortable, much gentler than the previous two times. Now it can flow down my shoulders and all the way to my fingertips."

He tried moving the five fingers of his right hand, and the stiffness, numbness, and trembling that had once plagued him like a nightmare had vanished without a trace. In its place was a long-lost sense of control, full of power.

He could even clearly feel that the nerve endings in every finger were full of vitality.

"Your nerve adhesions have been completely broken up, and the blocked blood and qi have been cleared," Su Tang stated calmly, as if she had only accomplished a trivial matter. "The rest is up to you to rest and recover slowly. However..."

She then changed the subject: "For the combat assessment the day after tomorrow, it's best not to use your full strength with this hand. After all, it's just been unblocked, and the meridians are still very fragile. If you overuse it again and cause the fascia to tear, that would be troublesome."

Jiang Yan suddenly sat up in bed, so abruptly that he forgot he was shirtless. He turned his head and stared intently at Su Tang, his usually calm eyes now churning with turbulent emotions.

"Comrade Su An, is...is that all done?" he asked incredulously, his voice trembling.

This hand, once his greatest pride, also became his deepest despair. He sought out the best doctors in the military region, only to be told "muscle fatigue, rest" each day, yet his condition worsened. He had even prepared for the worst—to take off his uniform and bid farewell to the shooting career he cherished as his life.

But now, Su Tang, this seemingly delicate and frail rural female soldier, has pulled him back from the edge of a cliff in just three days and three miraculous massages and acupuncture treatments.

This is no longer medical skill, this is a miracle!

"I said I could cure it." Su Tang's answer remained simple. She began to pack up the silver needles, her movements unhurried.

Looking at her calm profile, Jiang Yan felt an overwhelming surge of gratitude, admiration, and awe. He opened his mouth, a thousand words stuck in his throat, but in the end, they all condensed into a solemn promise, tinged with a slight tremor.

“Comrade Su An,” he took a deep breath and said, word by word, “from now on, my life, Jiang Yan’s life, belongs to you.”

He said this with utmost seriousness, his eyes filled with a resolute determination.

Su Tang paused in wiping the silver needles, raised her eyelids to look at him, her eyes calm and unwavering, as if to say, "Here we go again."

Jiang Yan's face flushed red instantly, and she explained awkwardly, "I...I didn't mean that! What I meant was that I owe you a huge favor, and I'll do anything for you in the future, even go through fire and water for you!"
