Qin Ye was somewhat surprised that she made a decision so quickly: "Aren't you going to look at other options?"
Su Tang shook her head: "No need, this place is the best."
The two pushed open the creaking courtyard gate and entered the empty courtyard.
The ground was covered with weeds that were half a person tall, and there were piles of broken bricks and tiles in the corners of the walls, creating a desolate scene that had been uninhabited for a long time.
Su Tang liked it very much.
She pointed to the mottled courtyard wall: "Let's plant climbing plants here, it will look especially beautiful when it's lush and green!"
Qin Ye listened quietly, watching her slender figure gesturing in the empty courtyard.
"The soil in the front yard looks alright. Let's clear it out and grow some vegetables, like cucumbers, tomatoes, and bok choy. We'll feel more at ease eating what we grow ourselves."
"The backyard is even bigger. We can plant some fruit trees, apple trees, peach trees, pear trees... and build a grape trellis. In the summer, we can sit under it to cool off and eat the grapes we grow ourselves!"
Su Tang, holding Qin Ye's hand, pointed to one wall of the room:
"Qin Ye, I also want a big drying rack for meat and vegetables, to be installed there!"
Qin Ye looked at the sparkle in her eyes, the longing for a new life almost overflowing. His Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice softened unconsciously: "Okay."
Su Tang tiptoed closer to him:
"And also, there's a big room on the second floor, and I want to build a bookcase there."
"It's used to store my... well, the books my mother left behind, and the ancient books passed down from my ancestors. Those books are very precious, so I have to keep them safe." She said this nonsense with a straight face.
Those out-of-print books in the space need to be properly stored away, right?
Qin Ye was indeed somewhat surprised by her wildly imaginative ideas.
But looking into Su Tang's bright eyes, which were full of expectation, he couldn't bring himself to say no.
He hesitated for a moment: "Can you draw the blueprints?"
"Of course." A piece of cake.
Qin Ye nodded, his tone carrying a hint of indulgence that he himself didn't realize: "If you can draw up the blueprints, I'll make it for you myself."
"Huh?" Now it was Su Tang's turn to be surprised. "You...you can do woodworking?"
Qin Ye coughed somewhat awkwardly:
"When I was a child, I learned a little from the old carpenter in the courtyard house, and I can make simple furniture."
Su Tang was genuinely pleasantly surprised; this guy actually knew quite a lot.
"Qin Ye...you're amazing!" She didn't hold back her praise.
Qin Ye's ears burned from her praise, but his heart felt warm and full.
"I also want a modular, multi-functional wardrobe with drawers for hanging clothes, storing blankets, and storing small items!"
"I also need a dressing table, with a large mirror, and preferably a small storage cabinet next to it to put my bottles and jars."
"Oh, right, I also like to handle medicinal herbs. It would be best to build a rack in the yard specifically for drying them. It would be great if we had a greenhouse, so we could grow something in the winter!"
She chattered on and on, while Qin Ye listened quietly, nodding occasionally.
Everything Su Tang mentioned was so novel, yet so practical.
As Qin Ye listened to her description, he could almost picture the warm and vibrant home he would have in the future.
With her around, this family will definitely be very different.
A strong sense of anticipation welled up in his heart, and he solemnly promised: "As long as you can say it and draw it, I will do my best to help you realize it."
Su Tang smiled, her eyes crinkling: "It's a deal!"
