Qin Ye assumed she was worried about his health, and immediately said frankly:
"Yes, I was shot in the leg, but it was a minor wound and it's healed already."
As he spoke, he rolled up his trouser leg, revealing his muscular calves.
There was indeed a bullet scar on it, but it had healed very well, only the skin color was slightly darker.
Su Tang, as the doctor, examined the injury carefully and nodded. The injury had indeed healed well and did not significantly affect the patient's mobility.
Then, she raised her head, her clear eyes holding just the right amount of inquiry, as if she wanted to say something but hesitated.
Qin Ye felt a pang of anxiety when he saw her like this.
"What's wrong?"
Su Tang bit her lower lip, leaned closer to him, and lowered her voice, as if afraid of being overheard.
"I heard... your injury wasn't just to your leg..."
"I also heard...you were injured...at all..."
Qin Ye's expression froze.
He was stunned for a full three seconds before he realized what "damaged the foundation" meant.
"Who...who told you that?!"
His voice even changed tone.
Su Tang blinked her innocent big eyes, her expression extremely serious, as if she really was just relaying gossip she had heard.
"I'm not just making this up."
She silently added in her mind: It's from the original novel...
"Everyone says that you, Qin Datian, were seriously injured in that battle. Not only are you unable to walk properly, but... you're not very good in that area either."
"Otherwise, with such a good family background and such a promising young man, why would you be almost twenty-six years old and still not married, and insist on marrying me, a capitalist's daughter with a bad class background?"
Qin Ye's face was quite a sight.
It was red, black, and green all at once, like a dye shop had been opened.
Finally, he took a deep breath, as if using all his strength, and squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth.
"Nonsense! That's not true at all! I'm perfectly healthy!"
Su Tang almost burst out laughing when she saw his exasperated expression.
But her face still held that "I don't believe you, don't lie to me" expression.
Qin Ye was about to explode from her gaze. In a moment of impulsiveness, he blurted out, "How do you want me to prove it?"
"Hmm... proof..." Some indescribable images flashed through Su Tang's mind, and her cheeks instantly burned.
This fire seems to have gone a bit too far...
Seeing her unusually shy expression, Qin Ye's anger at being wronged suddenly turned into a raging fire.
He also became bolder.
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed Su Tang's waist, pulling her forcefully towards him.
Su Tang gasped and crashed into his burning arms.
He lowered his head, his handsome face getting closer and closer, until the tip of his nose almost touched hers.
"How do you prove it?"
Their breaths instantly mingled, hot and scalding.
The air seemed to freeze.
Su Tang's face turned as red as a ripe peach, her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her throat, and her voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz.
"It wasn't said... that before we got the marriage certificate... it wouldn't..."
Qin Ye looked at her helpless appearance, his Adam's apple bobbing.
A wicked smile crept onto his lips, a smile he himself didn't even realize.
He moved closer, his hot breath brushing against Su Tang's sensitive earlobe.
His voice was low and hoarse, with a deadly magnetic quality.
