Chapter 59 Neighbors Come for a Visit: The Fish Are Plump and the Soup Is Delicious (1/2)

After preparing the gifts, Su Tang went to the breeding area in the space.

With a thought, she brought out a plump and healthy miniature pig, along with several pounds of marbled beef and a tender Sanhuang chicken.

She quickly cleaned the ingredients using the one-click cooking function in the space.

Then, it was wrapped in layers of large tarpaulin and old newspapers, disguised as if it had been bought from a state-run butcher shop, and placed in a corner of the kitchen. That was it.

As evening approached, the guests began to arrive one after another.

Li Xiumei, holding Xiao Hu's hand, and Wang Fengxing, carrying a small bag of potatoes they grew themselves, started shouting as soon as they entered the yard.

"My goodness! Su Tang! What kind of divine skill do you have! This courtyard looks just like a painting!"

Zhang Qianli and Zhou's wife, along with their two children, followed behind, speechless with astonishment at the sight before them.

In the small courtyard, the vegetable garden was neatly arranged like tofu blocks, and the lush green seedlings looked vibrant and healthy.

The fruit tree in the corner, though small, was full of vitality.

The most amazing thing is the small pond with stone rims. The water is crystal clear, and you can even see a few small fish swimming around in it.

This doesn't look like it was just moved in a few days ago! This is clearly an old courtyard that's been running for several years!

"Come in and sit down! Dinner will be ready soon!" Su Tang greeted them with a smile and welcomed them into the house.

The interior of the house was an eye-opener for them.

Clean, tidy, and cozy.

Although the furniture was simple, the soft sofa cushions, the thick curtains, and the mouthwatering aroma of meat in the air all exuded an indescribable sense of refinement and comfort.

"Pretty sister!" As soon as Xiao Hu saw Su Tang, he broke free from his mother's hand and rushed over, grabbing her leg.

Su Tang smiled and took a piece of chocolate out of her pocket, then put it in his hand.

"Wow! Chocolate!" Little Tiger's eyes lit up.

Zhang Qianli's daughter, Xiaoya, and son, Xiaoshitou, also watched longingly. Su Tang took out two more pieces, one for each of them.

The two children adored Su Tang and followed her everywhere.

She kept repeating, "Sister, sister, play with me."

Sister-in-law Zhou felt a warm glow in her heart as she watched.

Everyone says that Commander Qin's fiancée is a capitalist's daughter and very spoiled, but looking at her today, she's not spoiled at all. She's beautiful, speaks gently, and is good to the children. She's clearly a woman who knows how to manage a household.

Moreover, as the old saying goes, whether a person is blessed or not can be seen from whether he or she is liked by children.

When Li Xiumei and Sister-in-law Zhou saw the ingredients Su Tang had prepared, their eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"Girl! Where...where did you get so much meat?!" Li Xiumei pointed at the large piece of beef and stammered.

"And this chicken, this pork... My God, how much money and ration coupons must have cost!" Sister Zhou was also shocked.

Su Tang smiled and said, "I gave the staff at the state-owned butcher shop a little something extra, and asked her to save it for us. Housewarming parties don't happen that often in a lifetime, so it shouldn't cost much. As long as everyone is happy, that's all that matters."

Her words made the two men feel even more that she was incredibly capable.

To be able to procure so many good things when resources are so scarce is a skill that not everyone can possess!

Seeing that the fire was almost done, Su Tang smiled and said:

"We're still missing something, ladies. Let's go to the small pond and catch a fish to make soup!"

"Catch fish?" Li Xiumei looked incredulous. "There can be fish in this little pond that's less than two meters wide?"

Without saying much, Su Tang picked up a simple bamboo fishing rod made by Qin Ye, attached a small piece of bait (of unknown origin), and walked to the edge of the pond.

Everyone followed out out of curiosity.

Su Tang then cast the fishing line into the water.

Less than ten seconds.

The fishing float suddenly sank!

With a flick of her wrist, Su Tang flung a large, lively grass carp weighing two or three pounds onto the ground, where it bounced and thrashed about.

The fish are so big and plump, all thanks to the sacred spring water.

The meal was a delightful one for both host and guests, and the entire courtyard was filled with delicious aromas.

The braised pork belly is fatty but not greasy, the stewed beef with potatoes is tender and flavorful, the spicy diced chicken is spicy and appetizing, and the fish soup is so fresh that you almost want to swallow your tongue.

The children ate with their mouths full of oil, and the adults couldn't stop eating.

You have to marry a wife like this! She's respectable, capable, and will make your life so prosperous!
