Chapter 98 How could I let you be the first to bring up marriage? (2/2)

"I'll take it."

He felt it was best to keep such a dangerous thing on himself, so that if anything happened, it would come at him and not implicate her.

Su Tang knew exactly what he was thinking.

She reacted quickly and snatched the map away.

"You're taking it? What are you planning to do with it? Go and be a lone hero?"

Qin Ye was taken aback by her words and said in a muffled voice, "Safe."

Su Tang was amused by his appearance.

Then, right in front of Qin Ye, the map simply vanished into thin air.

"It's safest to keep it with me." Su Tang clapped her hands, looking completely matter-of-fact. "No one can take it away from me."

Qin Ye's lips twitched. Looking at her empty hands, he couldn't say anything for a long time, and finally could only acquiesce.

Indeed, there is no safer place than her magical space.

“That A-Yun is definitely not simple.” Su Tang put away her joking expression and said seriously, “She must know the true value of these mines.”

Qin Ye nodded, his expression grave: "She will reappear. She won't let this go."

He looked at Su Tang and suddenly said, "From now on, you can no longer act alone. No matter where you go, you must tell me."

His tone left no room for argument, carrying the commanding air characteristic of a soldier.

Su Tang felt a warmth in her heart, knowing that he was worried about her, and nodded obediently: "Okay, I'll listen to you, Commander Qin."

She deliberately used a hint of coquetry.

Qin Ye's ears turned slightly red.

The stone house fell silent, save for the crackling of the campfire.

Su Tang looked at the firelight, but her mind was on something else.

They've been through so much, from wolf packs to avalanches, from ruthless bandits to mysterious girls—they've encountered almost every kind of danger that most people never experience in their entire lives.

She suddenly realized that some things couldn't wait any longer.

“Qin Ye,” Su Tang suddenly called out to him.

"Um?"

He turned his head, and the moonlight fell into his deep eyes, like scattered starlight.

"Let's hold the wedding when we get back to the army."

Su Tang's voice was very soft, yet exceptionally clear.

She thought that in such a world full of unknowns and dangers, the most important thing was to hold on to the peace and happiness in front of her.

She didn't want to have any more regrets.

Qin Ye froze completely.

He stood there stunned for several seconds, his mind blank, as if he hadn't heard what she said.

He looked at Su Tang, at her clear eyes, which reflected the firelight and his own image.

He managed to squeeze out a single word with great difficulty.

"……good."

His voice was so hoarse it didn't sound like his own.

Su Tang smiled, her eyebrows curving like the brightest crescent moon in the night sky.

Before she could say anything more, her wrist was suddenly gripped tightly by a strong force.

Qin Ye suddenly pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.

That hug was so strong it felt like it was trying to meld her into his very bones.

His deep voice sounded above her head, carrying a hint of both exasperation and amusement with his doting tone.

"How can I let you speak first in something like this?"

"I promise you, I will definitely give you a wedding that will satisfy you..."

At dawn, just as the sky began to lighten, a tremendous roar, growing louder as it approached, shattered the silence of the snow-capped mountains.

"Listen! What's that sound?!"
