They are vengeful and will seek revenge for even the smallest wrongdoing.
"Okay." He only said one word.
Then, he looked at Su Tang and said in an extremely solemn tone, word by word, "I'll set up a stage for you."
Su Tang's heart skipped a beat.
She looked at the man in front of her. In the moonlight, his features were distinct, and his eyes were firm. He didn't say "I'll help you" or "I'll take care of it," but instead said, "I'll set up a platform for you."
He completely handed over the initiative of revenge to her. He chose to be her strongest support, clearing away all obstacles for her, and then letting her personally cut off the head of her enemy.
This trust, this tacit understanding, this deep-seated comprehension... moved Su Tang more than any "I love you" could ever say.
"good."
All those words could be summed up in just one word.
Qin Ye handed the poisoned letter back to her.
"Keep this," he said in a low voice. "You might need it."
Su Tang took the letter, carefully folded it, and tucked it close to her body. The cold paper made her chest feel hot.
"It's getting late, let's go back." Qin Ye glanced at the flashlight beams of the patrol team in the distance. "Don't get spotted."
"Um."
Su Tang nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute," Qin Ye called out to her again.
Su Tang turned around.
Qin Ye stepped forward and, without saying a word, pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.
His embrace was firm yet warm, carrying a chilling aura unique to him. Su Tang's cheek pressed against his strong chest, and she could clearly hear his steady, powerful heartbeat.
"Tangtang," he whispered in her ear, his voice hoarse, "Take care of yourself."
"Don't make me...worry."
After saying that, he released her, took a step back, looked at her deeply, then turned around and disappeared into the night without any hesitation.
Su Tang stood there, stunned for a moment. She raised her hand and touched her slightly flushed cheeks and the shoulders where she could still feel the warmth of his embrace.
After a long while, she gave a self-deprecating laugh, turned around, and like a nimble cat in the night, silently returned to her dormitory.
Lying back on the cold bed, Su Tang could no longer fall asleep.
She opened her eyes and looked at the cold, bright moon hanging high in the night sky outside the window. The outline of the letter in her arms was clearly pressed against her body.
Her eyes were as calm as a stagnant pool. But deep within that stagnant water, endless killing intent surged and boiled.
Little girl...
Did you see that?
The murderer who drove you to your death is now dreaming, thinking he has the victory in his grasp.
Those who look down on you, laugh at you, and wrong you all sleep soundly.
They all thought that this matter would end with your death.
But they didn't know.
My sister swore to herself that she would definitely get justice for you.
Now, the time has come.
Little girl, watch carefully.
