Chapter 439 Qin Ye's Thoughts Li Xiaoge was so frightened that she instinctively took a step back, her back slamming heavily against the cold wall of the administration building, with nowhere left to retreat.
Qin Ye stopped in front of her. He was very tall, and his shadow completely covered her.
He looked down at her, his deep eyes devoid of any warmth, like two bottomless, icy pools.
"What are you hiding in your arms?" His voice was calm, yet carried an undeniable authority.
"N-nothing..." Li Xiaoge waved her hands frantically, pressing her body tightly against the wall, trying to use her frail body to cover the deadly thing in her arms.
Qin Ye's gaze fell on the obvious bulge on her chest.
"Take it out." He spoke again, his tone still calm, but the commanding tone caused Li Xiaogao's mental defenses to collapse instantly.
She felt like a chick being targeted by an eagle, and all her struggles and pretenses seemed so pale and powerless.
"I...I..." she stammered for a long time, her eyes reddened, and tears streamed down her face.
It wasn't that she didn't want to talk; she was just too scared to.
Qin Ye looked at her like this, and his brows furrowed almost imperceptibly. He showed no mercy, but simply stretched out his hand and placed it in front of her.
That hand had distinct knuckles, and was long and strong.
The movements were simple, yet they carried an irresistible pressure.
Li Xiaoge's mind went blank.
She knew she couldn't escape it any longer.
Overwhelmed by fear and pressure, she trembled as she pulled a stack of sweat-soaked letters from her bosom and handed them over.
The moment the letter left her body, she felt as if all her strength had been drained away, and her whole body went limp.
Qin Ye accepted the letter.
He didn't look at her immediately, but instead stared calmly at Li Xiaoge with his sharp eyes until she felt her hair stand on end and wished she could disappear into the ground.
"Who told you to deliver it?" he asked.
“It’s…it’s Comrade Bai Wei…” Li Xiaoge dared not hide anything and told everything out loud.
Qin Ye's gaze finally shifted from her face to the stack of letters in his hand.
There wasn't even an envelope, just a thick stack of manuscript paper, hastily tied together with a straw rope.
He untied the straw rope and unfolded the first page.
A line of large, crooked yet powerful characters written in red ink suddenly came into view.
"A tearful, real-name report! Female soldier Su An and male soldier Jiang Yan of the Third Battalion have violated military discipline, engaged in illicit affairs, and driven someone to death! They are suspected of being enemy agents. I request the organization to conduct a thorough investigation!"
Every word seemed to be written in blood, filled with resentment and madness.
Qin Ye's pupils contracted.
He continued reading.
The contents of the letter were far more filthy and vicious than he had imagined.
Bai Wei used an extremely inflammatory and imaginative style to describe in detail how Su An used her beauty to seduce Jiang Yan; how Wang Xiaoya discovered their affair; how Su An then coerced and lured Wang Xiaoya, ultimately leading to her mental breakdown and suicide.
