The military boots crunched on the snow as they walked away.
He knew he shouldn't have done that.
Lian Xiao is Xu Xinghe's friend and a relative of an elder she trusts; their relationship is very close.
He should have been with Xu Xinghe, befriended Lian Xiao, and gotten along well with him.
But he couldn't do it.
Lian Xiao is a thief who is eyeing his treasure.
If he wants to prevent Xu Xinghe from being stolen, he has to take action.
