Chapter 353 No Need to Hide Anymore

Old Hei's gaze quickly fell on Zhang Cishu behind Xu Xinghe, and his eyes narrowed slightly.

The young man was well-dressed and had an outstanding temperament. His eyes and brows revealed a calm and reserved demeanor. His aura was not something that ordinary people could cultivate. I immediately began to take a closer look at him.

Zhang Cishu didn't say anything, but stood quietly half a step behind Xu Xinghe, his gaze calmly sweeping over the room without any awkwardness.

Xu Xinghe didn't bother to introduce him, but sat down directly in the chair opposite Lao Hei and got straight to the point, "Brother Hei, I've come to see you this time because I want you to do me a favor."

Old Hei paused, holding his teacup. "We've known each other for so long, why are you being so polite? Just say what you want to say. If it's within my power, I'll definitely help you."

“I need you to gather some reliable brothers and come with me to a place.” Xu Xinghe’s tone became serious. “Once we get there, immediately surround the place completely and make sure that not even a fly can get out. We can’t let anyone escape.”

Old Hei's smile gradually faded. He could sense that Xu Xinghe's matter this time was not simple, but he didn't ask any more questions. He just nodded and said, "No problem! You name the location, and I'll go and gather people right away! I'll make sure you can't get through!"

He knew that Xu Xinghe was not the type to cause trouble easily. Since she had asked him to, it must be something important. He was helping her not only because of their past relationship, but more importantly because of her value.

Don't underestimate her just because she's a woman; it's better to befriend her than to make enemies with her.

Old Hei acted swiftly and decisively. He got up, walked to the door, and called out. Several burly men in black short jackets immediately came in from the next room. Each of them had sharp eyes and looked like a tough guy who had been out on the road for many years.

"You have half an hour to go and gather your reliable brothers and meet near the abandoned grain depot in the east of town. Remember, spread out and don't gather in groups to avoid attracting attention."

Old Hei's voice boomed, "Once we get there, follow Miss Xu's instructions. Do whatever she tells you to do!"

"Yes!" the group replied in unison, then turned and left quickly, their movements swift and decisive, without the slightest hesitation.

Old Hei turned to look at Xu Xinghe and said with a smile, "Don't worry, my people are reliable and I guarantee there won't be any problems."

Xu Xinghe nodded his thanks. "Brother Hei, tell the brothers to keep a close eye on the surrounding alleys and not give the people inside any chance to escape."

After Lao Hei agreed, she and Zhang Cishu walked out of the tile-roofed house, got into the jeep, and drove towards the east of the town.

The car drove smoothly all the way, and when they were almost near the abandoned grain station, Xu Xinghe asked Zhang Cishu to park the car in a secluded alley, and the two of them got out and walked.

The afternoon sun was still scorching, and the roadside weeds were wilted by the heat. Xu Xinghe walked a few steps along the alley and looked up to see a dilapidated courtyard not far away.

The courtyard wall was mottled, and a rusty padlock hung at the entrance. The weeds in the yard were almost half a person tall, and it looked like it had been abandoned for a long time. But if you looked closely, you could see that the weeds on the wall had been trampled, so someone had obviously been here recently.

“This is it.” Xu Xinghe lowered her voice and pointed to the courtyard.

Now she felt there was something wrong even more.

Feng Qiushi not only went to a place that was clearly uninhabited, but there was even someone inside.

If you keep it all hidden like this, who would believe there's no problem?

Zhang Cishu looked in the direction she pointed, his brows furrowing slightly, but he still didn't say anything.

The two waited quietly in the alley. Before long, men in plain clothes appeared one after another in the hidden places around the courtyard.

One of the men quietly approached Xu Xinghe and whispered, "Miss Xu, we're surrounded. We've even sent people to watch the gate and the wall of the neighboring courtyard. Even if the people inside want to jump over the wall and run away, they won't be able to."

Xu Xinghe nodded, feeling slightly relieved. She beckoned to a small, agile henchman beside her, "Go knock on the door and see if anyone is inside."

The younger brother immediately agreed, quickly walked to the courtyard gate, raised his hand and gently knocked on the door.

The courtyard was quiet, and there was no response.

He tapped it harder.

But there was only the rustling of the wind through the weeds, and not a sound of human voices.

The younger brother turned to look at Xu Xinghe, his face full of doubt. "Miss Xu, could it be that no one is inside? And this courtyard is so dilapidated, and there's a lock on the door. It doesn't look like anyone lives here at all."

Xu Xinghe frowned, staring intently at the dilapidated door.

Her intuition told her that someone was inside, perhaps hiding in the house and observing the outside world through the window.

She turned to Zhang Cishu, "Cishu, can you help me? I need to jump over the wall to take a look."

Without hesitation, Zhang Cishu walked to the base of the courtyard wall, squatted down, and said, "Step on my back, and I'll lift you up."

Xu Xinghe nodded and carefully stepped onto his back.

Zhang Cishu slowly stood up and lifted her up a little.

Xu Xinghe reached out and grabbed the top of the wall, pushed herself up, and flipped herself onto the wall, looking down at the top.

A worn path, worn through by countless footsteps, leads through the weeds in the yard to the main house.

The door was closed, but there was no lock.

Why would a place that is truly uninhabited have a locked front door but an unlocked interior door?

Before she could speak, Zhang Cishu had already leaped up, grabbed the top of the wall with both hands, easily flipped over, and landed steadily in the yard. He looked up and stretched out his hand to her, "Come down, I'll catch you."

Xu Xinghe grasped his hand, then lightly leaped down beside him.

She turned and waved to her underlings outside the wall, "Come in, all of you, no need to hide anymore!"

Upon hearing the noise, the men outside the wall nimbly scaled the wall and landed in the courtyard.

"Miss Xu, what do we do now? Should we just rush in?"

Xu Xinghe's gaze fell on the half-open door, her eyes sharp. "I guess the people inside have already discovered us. In that case, let's just swagger in!"

After saying that, she took the lead and walked ahead.

Seeing this, the man behind her immediately stepped forward, saying, "Miss Xu, let me go first."
