Chapter 105 Using Money to Throw At People (1/2)

Political Commissar Li nodded: "I called you here to ask where you were between 3:10 and 3:20 in the afternoon?"

Le Yao's heart skipped a beat; they were indeed after her.

Le Yao suppressed her inner turmoil: "I'm waiting for someone at the beach."

"Waiting for whom?"

Le Yao looked at Ruan Yunxi, who seemed to be enjoying the show, and said, "Wait for her."

Ruan Yunxi retorted, "You're lying."

"Didn't you tell me to wait for you at the beach?" Le Yao said matter-of-factly, since no one saw her set the fire, she would never admit it.

"You did wait, but you returned to the family compound at 3:10." Ruan Yunxi wouldn't let her make excuses; she would have to get her revenge for the trouble she started.

"Do you have any evidence?" Le Yao denied it.

Ruan Yunxi looked at Political Commissar Li.

Political Commissar Li nodded: "Go and call the people on duty."

Le Yao remembered that the family compound was guarded by soldiers on duty, and she did indeed run into them when she returned.

Her absence was discovered.

Soon, the soldier on duty arrived at the political commissar's office, saluted, and waited for Political Commissar Li to ask him questions.

Political Commissar Li asked, "What time did you see Comrade Le Yao return to her family compound this afternoon?"

The soldier on duty dared not hide anything. Under Le Yao's gaze, which almost popped out of her head, hoping she would lie for him, he answered truthfully: "It was around 3:10 when she entered the family compound."

Which way did she come from?

The soldier on duty didn't expect that the political commissar asked the same question as Comrade Ruan. He probably guessed what it was, and the soldier answered in detail: "He went to the small bungalows."

Le Yao shouted excitedly, "I didn't! You're mistaken!"

The soldier on duty shook his head: "I'm not mistaken. I remember what you were wearing. You weren't wearing this outfit before; you were wearing pants, not a skirt."

Le Yao glared at the soldier on duty, feeling that he was meddling in her business: "Yes, I went over there. I heard that some women in the family compound had planted cherries, and I wanted to see if the cherries were ripe. I didn't set any fires!"

"Wait, we don't think we mentioned you setting the fire, and nobody mentioned setting the fire either. Are you admitting it without being asked?" Ruan Yunxi focused on the key point.

Le Yao retorted, "She said it herself, that she set the fire and wet the bed!"

The girl being referred to looked completely bewildered.

Ruan Yunxi laughed: "You even use children, Le Yao, you're really despicable."

Le Yao didn't care. She knew she could escape being convicted, so what did it matter?

It's not her child, so she doesn't care.

Political Commissar Li never expected that even at this point, she would still try to argue.

Fortunately, they still had the most important evidence: "Do you know where you found your bracelet?"

Le Yao touched the smooth bracelet, then, as if remembering something, looked at the group leader in surprise.

The head of the cultural troupe said, "Your bracelet was given to you by Comrade Ruan Yunxi. Tell me, how did your bracelet end up near her house?"

Le Yao finally understood why Ruan Yunxi seemed so confident and certain that it was her. It turned out that the problem lay with the bracelet. She had tried to argue, but she hadn't realized that she had inadvertently left behind evidence.

Even so, she still refused to admit it and continued to argue: "Who knows if she found my bracelet somewhere else and deliberately framed me."

Ruan Yunxi was surprised: "How do you know that your bracelet was definitely not found in front of my house?"

Le Yao exclaimed excitedly, "Did you hear that? She's slandering me! She set the fire on purpose, that must be it! You wicked woman, you've gone too far!"

In response to Le Yao was a slap from Ruan Yunxi, along with a handful of burnt wood ash that she had brought beforehand, which she stuffed into Le Yao's mouth: "Even at this point, you still won't admit it, you still try to argue. Do you really think you can escape suspicion?"

Le Yao had her mouth stuffed with wood ash, and she felt so uncomfortable that she vomited.

Ruan Yunxi felt disgusted and let go of her hand.

Le Yao vomited profusely, disregarding her image.

Political Commissar Li was stunned.

After Le Yao had finished vomiting, Ruan Yunxi continued, "Although you didn't pick them up in front of my house, they were still on the way. Don't tell me you went to see the cherries again. How come my house caught fire after you saw the cherries?"
