Chapter 170 Extorting Medical Expenses (1/2)

Ruan Yunxi bought a lot of butterfly cookies.

She ate all the butterfly cookies I brought last year.

There's no space left, so Ruan Yunxi needs to buy more this time.

I take some time every day to buy ten or eight packs. I'm leaving tomorrow, so Ruan Yunxi definitely won't miss it today.

She walked out of the store and went straight to the alley next door, where she hid the butterfly pastries. She only kept a bag of butterfly pastries, a bag of crab roe rice crackers, and yogurt buns in her hand, all of which were her favorites.

We'll save these to eat on the way back to Liancheng.

She had just stepped out of the alley when she saw a tram clanging past. Ruan Yunxi realized she hadn't taken Gu Weizhou on the tram yet, so she decided to ride it with him later.

Just then, someone suddenly reached out and pushed Ruan Yunxi.

Ruan Yunxi lost her balance and almost bumped into the oncoming tram.

Fortunately, the distance was a bit far, and Ruan Yunxi fell to the ground, just missing the tram that was slowly passing by.

Startled, Ruan Yunxi turned around and looked at Wang Xiang, who was pushing her forcefully.

Wang Xiang was surprised to find that Ruan Yunxi had only tripped and fallen, and had not been hit by the tram.

She wanted to stage a car accident to cause Ruan Yunxi to have an accident.

But they miscalculated.

Realizing she had been exposed, Wang Xiang immediately jumped onto her bicycle and tried to escape before Ruan Yunxi could catch up.

The pained Ruan Yunxi saw through Wang Xiang's intention, narrowed her eyes, and silently recited in her mind, putting a section of the bicycle chain into her spatial storage.

In an instant, the old-fashioned bicycle went out of control.

In her panic, Wang Xiang lost control of the handlebars, and her old bicycle crashed into a parked tram waiting for passengers to disembark.

Ruan Yunxi watched helplessly as Wang Xiang reaped the consequences of her actions.

Passengers getting off the bus exclaimed in surprise as they saw Wang Xiang being hit: "Someone's been in a car accident!"

"She's not dead, is she?"

"Is he still alive?"

With her head bleeding and lying on the ground, Wang Xiang slowly reached out her hand to the onlookers: "Help...help me..."

The tram driver got off to check and saw Wang Xiang, whom he had hit. He cursed his bad luck in his heart, but he couldn't just leave her to die. So he carried her onto the tram and took her to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Other passengers sighed, "Can't you be a little more careful when riding a bike?"

Ruan Yunxi picked up the broken butterfly pastry, crab roe rice crust, and yogurt cake, and looked at the remaining bloodstains on the ground with a gloating smile.

She didn't want to crash, but now look what happened, she crashed into it herself!

Ruan Yunxi looked at her slightly red, swollen, and broken hand; she had been injured when she fell to the ground.

When Ruan Yunxi returned, her wrist was so painful that she couldn't lift it. She knew she must have sprained it.

Seeing her rubbing her wrist, Gu Weizhou immediately picked it up to check: "How did you get hurt? Did something happen?"

Ruan Yunxi nodded and recounted how Wang Xiang had pushed her, which angered Gu Weizhou so much that he was about to go and settle the score with someone.

Ruan Yunxi reassured her, "I've already taken my revenge. Don't worry, she was injured more badly than I was."

The old woman took out some medicinal wine and asked Gu Weizhou to massage her wrist, which was swollen and must have injured a tendon.

When Gu Weizhou applied the medicine to Ruan Yunxi, she gasped in pain, saying, "Be gentle."

"You need to rub it in, otherwise it'll hurt the good fabric. Just bear with it." Gu Weizhou didn't want to use any force, knowing it would hurt.

He would rather be the one who gets hurt.

Ruan Yunxi was in so much pain she almost cried. Gu Weizhou looked at her wrist, which was red, swollen and hot from being rubbed, and breathed a sigh of relief: "Don't use this hand for now. If it doesn't get better after applying the medicine, you should go to the hospital to get it checked out and have an X-ray taken. You can get it done at any major hospital these days."

"Hmm." Ruan Yunxi hoped they wouldn't have to go to the hospital.

Fortunately, it was just a minor sprain. By the afternoon, the swelling had gone down, and apart from a little pain, it hadn't gotten any worse.
