With Gu Weizhou not sleeping at home, Ruan Yunxi felt a little better.
But I felt terrible inside.
Looking at the brand-new sheets and duvet cover that Gu Weizhou had never slept in, and then at the empty pillow beside her, Ruan Yunxi sighed: "Baby, don't go too far. If your dad is really forced to the point where he can't go home because of you, I'll really be angry."
"Just a little bit is fine, but if you go too far, it'll be hard to handle, you know?"
Her flat stomach remained unresponsive.
Ruan Yunxi patted her belly: "Consider it a promise. This month it's fine, but not next month, or Mommy will be unhappy."
I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep well.
Ruan Yunxi underestimated the power of pregnancy-induced sleepiness.
Before she could even remove her hand from her lower abdomen, she was already drifting off to sleep.
The nanny was still worried, so she got up to check on her. Seeing that she was asleep, she turned off the light to avoid it being too bright for her when she woke up.
I slept soundly through the night and woke up at a little after nine.
The nanny made her some millet porridge that she could eat: "This morning, Weizhou came and asked about you. He saw you were asleep and didn't have the heart to wake you up."
Upon hearing Gu Weizhou's name, Ruan Yunxi nodded and took a sip of millet porridge: "I understand, he should be here this afternoon."
"What would you like to eat for lunch?" The nanny is now in charge of Ruan Yunxi's meals, and she will arrange whatever Ruan Yunxi wants to eat.
Ruan Yunxi thought for a moment and said, "The crab roe rice cake that my nanny gave me when I was little."
"You can't eat crab roe right now, so how about this, we'll use salted duck egg yolk instead, see if you'll eat it or not." The old woman brought rice cakes, homemade, soaking in water, thankfully she didn't complain that they were too heavy and gave them away.
Ruan Yunxi nodded.
As soon as the salted egg yolk rice cake came out of the pot, Ruan Yunxi smelled the aroma and wanted to eat it.
Who knew that after taking one bite, she couldn't help but feel like throwing up: "It tastes different. Crab roe is still the best. Grandma, I can't eat this. You can eat it yourself. I'm sorry!"
"It's alright, it's alright. I'll cook you a bowl of noodles later, how about pork chop noodles?" The nanny saw that she was feeling unwell, so how could she scold her?
Ruan Yunxi nodded: "Okay!"
Just then, Xiao Yingtao and her brother came to find Ruan Yunxi.
The old woman was getting on in years and couldn't digest these sticky rice cakes easily, so she couldn't eat too many. After asking the two children if they had any dietary restrictions, she asked them to help her finish the rice cakes.
Little Cherry ate a piece: "Delicious! What is this? It's so delicious! I love it! It's chewy and sticky, like rice cake."
"It's rice cake. If you like it, I'll make it for you next time." Ruan Yunxi envied Xiao Yingtao and the others' good appetite.
Seeing that they were eating happily, Ruan Yunxi tried another piece, but she still felt that the taste was wrong. It tasted like kerosene, and she couldn't swallow it, so she spat it out.
The nanny made her a big bowl of pork chop noodles. Ruan Yunxi ate a small bowl, took two bites of the pork chop, and then stopped. The nanny didn't waste it; she didn't mind Ruan Yunxi's saliva and ate the pork chop herself.
Meat is so expensive these days.
Without meat coupons, you can't buy meat.
After taking a nap in the afternoon, Gu Weizhou took a shower and returned from the army, but Ruan Yunxi was still asleep.
Gu Weizhou quietly peered out the window.
Ruan Yunxi woke up when she smelled the cooking fumes from the old woman's cooking. She covered her mouth and held the spittoon to vomit for a while.
After she rinsed her mouth and went outside, she saw Gu Weizhou standing outside the courtyard, waving at her: "How was your day?"
"I feel much better, let's try it." Ruan Yunxi walked towards Gu Weizhou, but after taking only a few steps, she caught his scent, turned her head away, and continued to vomit.
Gu Weizhou: "......"
For dinner, we had tofu and cabbage, as well as a tomato and egg dish that Ruan Yunxi ordered. She didn't eat the egg, only the tomato, and also ate some tofu and cabbage.
I didn't eat much, but I managed to eat a few mouthfuls of rice.
