Chapter 199 Receiving Red Envelopes (2/2)

Gu Huahua doesn't have a job in Beijing. The money she has comes from her mother, and six yuan is already quite a lot for her.

"Look at you, you've received so many red envelopes so soon after you were born! Everyone loves you. Be good and grow up quickly so you can thank them in person next year!"

Ruan Yunxi spoke to them, and the eldest brother laughed and tugged at his leg, overjoyed.

The second child smiled toothlessly and reached out to him for a hug.

Little Soft Candy tried very hard to roll over, but unfortunately her bones were still too soft and she was still too young to roll over. Seeing this, Ruan Yunxi couldn't help but help her, turning Little Soft Candy over so that she could lie softly on her stomach.

When Gu Weizhou returned from washing up, he saw Ruan Yunxi playing with the three children. He strode over to her, lay down like her, put his big arm around her waist, and watched the three adorable children with her. He was so charmed by their cuteness that he turned his head and kissed the mother of the children: "You're so good at having children. Look how cute our three kids are!"

Ruan Yunxi smiled smugly: "You've really struck gold by marrying me."

Gu Weizhou smiled and nodded smugly: "Yes, marrying you is like marrying a treasure. My darling has given me three little ones. I'm so lucky."

Ruan Yunxi's smile never faded as she was coaxed. Thinking about his past life, if she hadn't married him, she would have remained unmarried and childless her whole life. Unlike now, she had a son, a daughter-in-law, and a son. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call him a winner in life.

These days, there's not much to do during the Lunar New Year. It's all about eating and drinking. It's too cold outside, so apart from the kids who can't stand sitting still and aren't afraid of the cold, very few people go out.

However, even during the Spring Festival, the leaders of the residential compound still run around the compound morning and evening. Some of them even take off their coats when they get hot and run in the snow with the heat radiating from them.

Gu's parents felt cold just looking at it.

They also met Gu Weizhou, who simply nodded slightly as a greeting.

If he ran into his wife, Gu Weizhou wouldn't just nod; he would wave, then leave the running group and walk towards her, asking, "Why are you up so early today?"

“Your son wet the bed; if he hadn’t gotten up, he would have been washed away.” Ruan Yunxi said, both amused and exasperated.

Gu Weizhou smiled helplessly: "You've given me something to do again."

"Who told you to be the child's father!" Ruan Yunxi didn't feel sorry for the man washing the sheets and diapers at all. She said to him, "Just run a little and then come home. Breakfast is almost ready. I'll go call Mom and Dad to come over for breakfast."

Gu Weizhou nodded, stopped running, and went straight home to take care of his son and daughter.

When Gu's parents saw Ruan Yunxi, they knew she had come to call them for breakfast.

Gu Huahua went to Ruan Yunxi's house early in the morning and is currently playing with Xiao Ruantang.

In the few days since she returned to the family compound, Xiao Lu has become familiar with her again.

The fawn is afraid of the cold and needs to go for a walk every day to relieve itself outside before going back inside. It has developed the habit of relieving itself outside, and if you don't take it out, it will hold it in.

I ate dumplings for breakfast. I made too many the night before Chinese New Year. We ate dumplings on the first day of the Lunar New Year, noodles on the second day, and today, the third day, we're eating dumplings again.

We went to Sister-in-law Shen's house for dinner in the evening, and had a simple lunch as well.

Although it's said to be a simple meal, with Ruan Yunxi at home, it's anything but simple.

Ruan Yunxi was worried that Sister-in-law Sheng wouldn't be able to handle everything alone, so she asked Gu Huahua to help. Gu Huahua returned quickly, bringing Xiao Yingtao and Xiao Tudou with her to prevent them from causing trouble. She entrusted the two children to Gu Huahua so that she could prepare dinner in peace.

We eat stewed goose in an iron pot during the Chinese New Year.

Tonight, Sister-in-law Sheng made braised chicken and mushrooms in an iron pot, along with lots of abalone, sea cucumber, some pork belly, potstickers, and some glass noodles—it's a real feast!

Since Gu's father and the three men, Gu Weizhou, wanted to drink some more, we prepared a plate of fried peanuts, a cold jellyfish salad, and a grilled dried squid for them—all dishes that go well with alcohol.

Father Gu was in a good mood as he drank the Maozi he had brought.

Everyone was stuffed after the meal.

Ruan Yunxi is the same.

She finished eating and saw that the little ones had woken up. Surprisingly, they didn't cry or fuss. They were all sleeping obediently in Little Cherry's bed. When Ruan Yunxi went to check on them, they smiled and reached out to her for a hug.

Ruan Yunxi knew her own strength; she couldn't lift her eldest child, and her second child had recently gained weight. Only her little one, Ruantang, was within her reach.

Ruan Yunxi carried the little candy outside.

She didn't need to worry about the two little ones; Gu's mother and Gu Huahua each carried one, allowing Sister-in-law Sheng and the nanny to rest.

Gu's parents are taking the train back to Beijing on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year. The holiday is short, and they can't stay too long.

During this time, Gu's mother could take the opportunity to spend some quality time with her three grandchildren.

While holding her eldest child and watching Xiao Yingtao and the others have a snowball fight at the door, the other women, having finished eating, brought their children down to play. When they saw Gu's mother, they greeted her with smiles and even mentioned the child's name: "Your family is so generous; your grandson can even take his mother's surname. I've never heard of that before."

Upon learning this for the first time, Gu's mother was speechless.
