Chapter 222 Flying Kites (1/2)

The Gu family doesn't have many rooms.

Ruan Yunxi and her child slept in Gu Weizhou's old room.

The nanny has one room, and Gu Huahua has one room.

Mr. Gu has a study, and the elderly couple has a room.

The children were in an unfamiliar place and didn't want to sleep separately from their parents, so they slept with Ruan Yunxi and his wife at night.

It's a bit cramped for five people to sleep together.

After the two children, Ruan Yunxi and her two youngest, fell asleep, she quietly carried them to the nanny's room. The nanny was happy to let the two children sleep with her.

She's used to having children around, and she's not used to sleeping without them!

Ruan Yunxi slept with Xiao Ruantang and Gu Weizhou, so Gu Weizhou didn't need to hang on the edge of the bed, as he could fall off at any time.

When the two brothers woke up the next day and found that they were not next to Ruan Yunxi, they were a little unhappy: "Why did I sleep with the nanny again?"

The younger child asked in confusion, "Don't I sleep with Mom and Dad?"

“Yes, we slept together. We woke up early this morning and, afraid you would run around, we had the nanny sleep with you,” Ruan Yunxi explained.

The second child suddenly realized.

The eldest brother seemed to be deep in thought.

However, the children's attention was quickly drawn to Mr. and Mrs. Gu, who said they would take the children out to play.

The kids wanted to go out and play, and even asked, "Is Mommy going?"

Mrs. Gu nodded.

The younger child asked, "Is Daddy going?"

Mrs. Gu nodded again.

Little Soft Candy tugged at the old woman's sleeve: "Old woman, you want to go too."

Mrs. Gu smiled and said, "Go ahead, we'll go have breakfast together and show you around Beijing's breakfast scene."

The little gummy bears happily followed them out.

After they each took a sip of the unpleasant-tasting soy milk, which amused Gu's parents and Gu Huahua, they realized they had been tricked.

"It doesn't taste good!" Little Gummy frowned and stuck out her tongue, as if her tongue was rotten.

The eldest brother immediately wiped his tongue and exclaimed, "It tastes awful!"

The younger brother, who hadn't drunk any yet, covered his mouth and refused to drink no matter who tried to persuade him. Even his older brother, who was such a glutton, thought it tasted bad, so it must taste bad too!

He doesn't want to make things difficult for himself.

Gu's parents: "Haha, you'll get used to it!"

Little Gummy said, "Grandpa and Grandma like to drink more, but we don't!"

The eldest son nodded in agreement.

The second child quietly pushed his bowl of soy milk over for them to drink.

Gu's parents didn't force the children; if they didn't want to drink, that was fine.

The point was to let them have a taste.

They don't like drinking douzhi (fermented mung bean juice) or eating fried liver.

Ruan Yunxi ate a little bit of braised pork offal, but she wasn't used to it.

Finally, the mother and her three children ate noodles with soybean paste.

The noodles with the thick, dark sauce were alright; compared to the other dishes, they were still palatable.

Gu Huahua said, "Zhong Ming treated us to roast duck for lunch. The roast duck was delicious. Auntie is not lying."

"Yay! I love roast duck!" Little Softie cheered enthusiastically.

Ruan Yunxi then found an opportunity to ask Gu Huahua about her fiancé. They met at the hospital. Gu Huahua was interning at the hospital and, while giving someone an injection, she was so nervous that she swollen their hand.

Later, he was injured again and came to the hospital. He was still a patient under Gu Huahua's care.

After a while, when he was discharged from the hospital, he and Gu Huahua hit it off. After learning about her situation, he didn't care about her past and was willing to marry her.

The two started dating, and later, feeling that he was a good person, they met each other's parents.

Gu's parents inquired and found out that the other family had a good atmosphere. He was their only son, with two younger brothers. He was a bus driver, and in this day and age, drivers were still quite skilled and sought after.

Gu's parents thought the person's family was alright, and their job was just average.

Gu Huahua likes it.
