Chapter 40 Marriage Application Rejected (2/2)

Her status as a capitalist's daughter was known to all the wives in the family compound and to all the leaders. Even if she dressed like a beggar now, the leaders would not think that she was born a beggar and would turn a blind eye to her capitalist background because of her tattered clothes.

Since she couldn't change the mountain in their hearts, Ruan Yunxi went her own way and didn't try to prove her innocence. Instead, she wore her usual style: a white shirt, a navy blue long skirt, and a pair of Converse sneakers on her feet. Her white sneakers were dirty from yesterday and hadn't been washed yet.

The sneakers didn't look out of place with her outfit.

After getting dressed, Ruan Yunxi came out of the space, opened the bedroom door, and met Sister Sheng who was waiting in the yard. Sister Sheng thought that Ruan Yunxi was clean, gentle and beautiful, and compared with her simple sisters-in-law, she was much more fashionable and beautiful.

Come to think of it, she wasn't an ordinary person to begin with.

She comes from a capitalist family, but she doesn't wear gold and silver. Her outfit is the same as that of many leaders' children. It's not ostentatious or showy.

Is it because she is beautiful, has an outstanding temperament, and exudes an air of nobility?

Indeed, some people are born clothes hangers.

Sister-in-law Sheng somewhat understood why Gu Weizhou liked this childhood sweetheart so much; if she were a man, she would like her too.

"Could you please show me the way, sister-in-law? I don't know where the political commissar's office is?" Ruan Yunxi thought she would deal with whatever came her way, and no matter what, she had to find out how to proceed.

Sister-in-law Sheng nodded and appeared with Ruan Yunxi.

The other sisters-in-law hadn't gone back yet; they were all waiting on their usual route.

Seeing Ruan Yunxi's eye-catching outfit, he looked her up and down, his gaze landing on her Converse shoes: "It doesn't seem to be the white sneakers you wore before. These shoes are quite nice, and they look more durable than our multi-layered cloth shoes."

"The black and white fabric looks even better than the canvas shoes."

"Why do I feel that her clothes are different from our white shirts and blue skirts? Capitalist ladies wear good fabrics."

One woman commented, "It seems to depend on the person; this outfit doesn't look good on me either!"

The sisters-in-law: "......"

It's because you're ugly. No matter how nice the clothes are, they'll look like a beggar wearing a coat. Ugly!

"Oh dear, Comrade Ruan, do you know that your marriage application has been rejected?"

"I know, thanks for reminding me. If you have nothing else to do, go beachcombing more often, it's spacious there!" Ruan Yunxi said, annoyed that they were meddling.

I know they're all waiting to see me make a fool of myself.

Ruan Yunxi hates these gossipy old women!

The women snorted, "We don't want to go beachcombing today. We just want to know if your relationship with Commander Gu will work out. If it doesn't, all that furniture and appliances we bought will go to someone else. They're all brand new, and you've barely used them."

Ruan Yunxi sneered, "As long as it doesn't benefit you."

Ruan Yunxi is good at roasting people.

The sisters-in-law looked unhappy, knowing they had no chance. They still had their younger sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Commander Gu was so well-off; they wouldn't let the good stuff go to outsiders.

At this moment, Gu Weizhou was like fish on a chopping board, and they had their eyes on him again.

They seemed to have forgotten that they had previously introduced potential partners to Gu Weizhou, only to be flatly rejected by him, who said he couldn't betray the promise of their childhood betrothal.

After Ruan Yunxi and Sister-in-law Sheng left, the sisters-in-law grumbled and complained a lot about Ruan Yunxi behind her back.

Someone mentioned wanting to ask the political commissar something, and suddenly, all the women had something to ask him. They all rushed to the political commissar's office building, claiming they had something to do, but really they just wanted to watch the spectacle.

And it's so good that no one can find fault with it.

Ruan Yunxi noticed a group of people following her and knew they were there to watch the excitement. She frowned and decided not to bother with them.

Sister-in-law Sheng led the person to the office building and advised Ruan Yunxi: "We'll talk things out later. Don't have any conflicts with the political commissar, so as not to be bad for you or Commander Gu."

Ruan Yunxi nodded: "Don't worry, sister-in-law, I will persuade her with reason."
