Chapter 43 We Got the Marriage Certificate (1/2)

Gu Weizhou pulled Ruan Yunxi into the car he had driven: "Did you bring your household registration booklet?"

Ruan Yunxi nodded.

Gu Weizhou grinned, his gaze fixed intently on her: "I'll give you one last chance to back out. Do you regret it?"

Ruan Yunxi smiled, the corners of her mouth turned up, her beautiful eyes filled with laughter, mimicking his deep and magnanimous tone: "I'll give you one last chance to back out. It's not too late now. Otherwise, if you marry me, you'll be bound to me for life. I could be your glory, or I could be your dark history."

Without even thinking, Gu Weizhou shook his head and refused: "No regrets."

“Me too!” Ruan Yunxi raised her chin slightly: “Let’s go, so we don’t have to wait until after get off work to get our marriage certificate.”

Gu Weizhou smiled, got into the car briskly, started the engine, and took Ruan Yunxi to the place where they would get their marriage certificate.

They were afraid people would leave work, but little did they know that their boss had called and told them they couldn't leave until they got their marriage certificates. A whole group of people were waiting to get their certificates for them!

Upon seeing the handsome man and beautiful woman appear before them, they raised an eyebrow, thinking that they could go out for a meal after getting the marriage certificate. They were more enthusiastic than if they had seen their ancestors: "Getting the marriage certificate, right? This way, please!"

Ruan Yunxi nodded.

They asked, "Did you bring your household registration booklet, marriage certificate, and medical examination report?"

Gu Weizhou examined them all at once. He looked at Ruan Yunxi with a gentle yet wary gaze.

It seemed as if they were afraid she might suddenly change.

Noticing his intense gaze, Ruan Yunxi smiled and gave him a meaningful look: "It's your turn to sign."

Gu Weizhou then realized that the staff were faster than he had imagined. After checking the documents and making sure nothing was missing, they had already prepared the marriage certificate for them to sign and put their fingerprints on, with only their names and seals left to be filled in.

Two copies were made, one for each of them.

Ruan Yunxi took the pen, wrote her name, pressed her fingerprint on her signature, and then handed it to Gu Weizhou.

He stood next to Ruan Yunxi, wrote his own name next to her delicate name, and pressed his fingerprint firmly on it. Looking at the fingerprints left on it, from this moment on, they were a legally recognized couple by the state.

The two held their marriage certificate, which looked much like an award certificate later on.

At that time, marriage certificates did not have photos, only their names.

You can also prepare your own group photo and just stamp it with an official seal.

Their wedding was rushed, and they didn't have time to take a photo together, so there are no pictures.

Gu Weizhou was a little disappointed.

Ruan Yunxi suggested, "Let's go to Shanghai to take one sometime. I know a photography studio that takes really good photos."

"Okay!" Gu Weizhou listened to her arrangements; he was sure what she said was the best.

After they received their marriage certificate, the staff congratulated them with smiles: "Happy marriage, may you live a long and happy life together, and have a baby soon!"

"Thank you!" Ruan Yunxi had candy in her space. Knowing that she would offer wedding candy to her husband, she happened to have a cloth bag in her hand. She pretended to take out wedding candy from the bag, but actually took out the White Rabbit milk candy and chocolate she had bought from her space.

The staff were surprised to receive wedding candy. When they saw it was White Rabbit candy, their eyes lit up. Little did they know that there were two chocolates hidden inside the White Rabbit candy. Those were imported candies, and many people never get to eat them in their entire lives.

Later, they discovered the chocolates, which were clearly from abroad, and they were astonished.

One of the staff members knew the truth: "It's just imported chocolate. The woman is a capitalist's daughter from Shanghai. She lives in a mansion, which is where the very rich live. It's probably just a basic thing for her to treat us to imported chocolate."

The others suddenly realized: "So she's a capitalist's daughter."

"No wonder he looks different."

"People who have been rich since childhood are different. This is the first time in my life I've ever eaten chocolate. It's quite an experience."
