When facing outsiders, Gu Weizhou immediately reverted to his icy demeanor, leaving the nurses bewildered. Why did he suddenly turn so sullen?
After the examination, the doctor in charge called them together, chatted with them for a few minutes, and then coughed lightly: "The test results are not yet available. At present, the officers seem to be in good health. We will have to wait for the test results to be finalized."
"Our hospital will give you the results as quickly as possible, probably before dark."
The doctor said, "I have a suggestion here, and I hope everyone can take it into consideration."
Commander Sheng nodded: "Please speak, doctor."
"So everyone here should be married by now, right?" the doctor asked.
Commander Sheng nodded. Those who could become commanders were generally over 25 years old. If you weren't old enough, you couldn't become one even if you wanted to; you'd have to keep waiting.
These days, it's rare to find someone who's 25 and still unmarried.
Even their base leader, Gu Weizhou, got married this year.
The last regimental commander, a bachelor, was removed from the list.
The doctor nodded to indicate that he understood: "In that case, I suggest that you do not have children for the next six months. During this time, you can use the necessary supplies if needed. Come back for a check-up in six months. If there are no problems, it is not too late to try to conceive again."
Most of the group leaders, who all have children, don't care.
Everyone turned to look at the newlywed Gu Weizhou.
Gu Weizhou remained unfazed. Even with a dozen pairs of eyes staring at him, he didn't flinch, as if Mount Tai would collapse without him even flinching: "Only six months?"
The doctor nodded affirmatively.
Gu Weizhou replied, "I understand!"
The doctor was relieved and said, "If you need anything, you can come here to get the necessities."
Everyone here is an adult and has a wife. The doctor understands; he's been through it all. When he was his age, he and his wife had a wonderful relationship.
Commander Sheng and his group were a little embarrassed and said they still had some at home.
They looked at each other, but no one went to ask the doctor for help.
Gu Weizhou was too lazy to bother with these loading and unloading operations. If they really didn't need the goods, they wouldn't have had one, two, three, four, five, or six children.
Gu Weizhou asked the doctor for a large amount of necessities, leaving the others dumbfounded: "Commander Gu, your health is the most important thing!"
Gu Weizhou, with an air of "as long as I'm not embarrassed, it's other people's stares that are embarrassing," said, "If you're not feeling well, you can have a doctor take a look, so you don't have to make a second trip. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"You little brat!"
"Who's not quite up to par?"
"I'm perfectly healthy!"
"Doctor, give me ten...no...twenty!"
"I need 30, 20 isn't enough!"
"You little rascal, do you think you can use 30? I need 35."
"I'll have 40!"
The doctor looked at the officers, each one so competitive and eager to outdo the others, and couldn't help but laugh and cry. Men's competitive spirit is just so childish.
"Not that many. Ten for each of you, which can be reused at least three times, enough for half a year." The doctor knew their situation perfectly well; they were middle-aged and their strength was failing them!
Commander Sheng and his group: "..."
Who does this doctor look down on?!
They glanced at Gu Weizhou with subtle expressions, each one of them eager to make a move.
Before they could make a move, Gu Weizhou ran away clutching his pocket, trying to snatch it from him. What were they thinking?
After the examination, Gu Weizhou requested to meet with Dean Hu. The leader in charge of the team gave him two hours. They rested at a guesthouse near the hospital and bought some things in the city.
Since we're already here, we can't let this trip go to waste.
