Chapter 89 Blue Tears (1/2)

I don't know how long I rode.

When Ruan Yunxi's buttocks were almost numb from the jolting, she pinched Gu Weizhou's abs and asked, "How much longer until we arrive?"

"Almost there!" Gu Weizhou adjusted the angle of the flashlight to ensure it didn't miss the road and cause him to take the wrong turn or have an accident.

Ruan Yunxi endured it.

After riding for about ten more minutes, Gu Weizhou finally stopped, braced himself with his feet on the ground, and turned to Ruan Yunxi, saying, "We're here. Look over there..."

Following the direction of his flashlight, Ruan Yunxi could vaguely see a blue light, glowing fluorescently in the night, like aquamarine.

Ruan Yunxi asked curiously, "What is that?"

"It's a kind of microorganism that the fishermen here call 'blue tears.' It appears in this sea area during red tides and can only be seen at night. It disappears after the season. I thought you hadn't seen it before, so I brought you here to see it!" Gu Weizhou helped Ruan Yunxi stand up and then put the bicycle by the roadside.

Each of them carried a flashlight. He walked ahead, holding Ruan Yunxi's small hand, and led her to the beach where the Blue Tears were located.

Ruan Yunxi wasn't afraid of falling when she followed him, and with him around, she wasn't afraid of seeing anything she shouldn't.

The young couple held hands and walked for several minutes before arriving at their destination. Looking at the large patch of blue teardrop-shaped creatures, Ruan Yunxi wanted to scoop them up with her hands.

Seeing that he didn't stop her, Ruan Yunxi knew she could retrieve it by hand.

She scooped some up in her hand, looked at the tiny blue creatures, and couldn't help but widen her eyes: "They seem to be alive."

"It's alive." Gu Weizhou smiled, looking at Ruan Yunxi's surprised expression with doting eyes: "Isn't it beautiful?"

Ruan Yunxi nodded: "Can I take this home?"

Gu Weizhou shook his head: "Taking him away would mean death. I've tried it before. If you like, we can come here to see him anytime soon."

"It's too far!" Ruan Yunxi's bottom went numb from sitting for so long before they arrived.

Gu Weizhou smiled and said, "If you'd like, we can bring some blankets over tomorrow night and sleep here until the next morning."

"Is that alright?" Ruan Yunxi raised an eyebrow.

Gu Weizhou nodded: "It's fine with me here, but it won't work if you come alone or with someone else."

"Okay, let's go camping tomorrow, have a barbecue, and see the bioluminescent plankton."

Gu Weizhou agreed to her arrangement.

After watching the blue tears for a while, Ruan Yunxi washed her hands and sat on the beach with Gu Weizhou, watching the waves crashing in. The shimmering blue ocean looked like a group of Smurfs.

Ruan Yunxi felt it was absolutely dreamlike; this was truly the first spectacle she had ever witnessed.

Gu Weizhou was worried she was cold, so he made her wrap herself in a shawl. She leaned against Gu Weizhou's chest, and even without saying a word, just looking at each other made them feel happy.

Gu Weizhou tilted his head and kissed her forehead: "I'll bring you here every year from now on. There are huge fields of them every year, they're so beautiful."

Ruan Yunxi made a request: "Can you drive here next time? My butt hurts."

Gu Weizhou: "...I applied in advance."

Ruan Yunxi smiled: "Then I'm willing to come with you every year."

Gu Weizhou affectionately flicked her nose. Their eyes met, sparkling. Ruan Yunxi couldn't help but smile. His lips moved from between her brows to her soft lips, his breath sweet and warm. Under the glow of the blue tears, they kissed intimately.

If the venue hadn't been unsuitable, the two of them almost couldn't resist doing *that*.

With rocks shoving under her buttocks, Ruan Yunxi had no desire for a wild encounter.

Gu Weizhou had no such intention. He knew his wife was delicate and didn't want to hurt her.

The young couple watched the sea for almost two hours. Ruan Yunxi noticed that it was getting late and he had training the next day, so the two packed up and went back to rest.

The bioluminescent plankton is beautiful, but it's too far away; it took almost an hour and a half to cycle there.

Moreover, the winding coastal road, with its ups and downs, is quite thrilling.
