"Hey, Jingyan! Are you about to head out?" Meng Wan's voice was still full of laughter. "Your mom arranged a teaching assistant for you. You'd better treat that young lady well. She's very capable and will save you a lot of trouble!"
Lu Jingyan's jawline was taut. He glanced at Su Wantang, who was silently in his arms, and when he spoke again, his tone was icy and unyielding.
"Who arranged this?"
"Huh?" Meng Wan was taken aback by his sudden question.
“I don’t need a teaching assistant.” Lu Jingyan’s voice wasn’t loud, but every word carried immense weight. “Let her go back.”

"I don't care what others think," Lu Jingyan said in a muffled voice.
"I care." Su Wantang cupped his face and looked earnestly into his eyes. "I don't want anyone, or any reason, to criticize our relationship. I especially don't want Mom to hold a grudge against me because of this."
She paused, a sly glint in her eyes.
"Besides, it's better to guide than to block. The more you push her away, the more Mom will probably think that there was something between you two in the past, and that you're just feeling guilty. We might as well openly bring her over and put her under our watchful eyes."
"I'd like to see what tricks she's up to."
"If she behaves herself, that's best. If she doesn't..." Su Wantang's lips curled into a cold smile, "That's perfect, I'll settle both the old and new scores with her."
It's better to lure the snake out of its hole than to guard against thieves for a thousand days.

Chu Yunfei was standing in front of the mirror, carefully adjusting her clothes.
She wore a brand-new white shirt today, made of fine fabric that perfectly accentuated her slender figure, especially her alluring curves. She paired it with army green trousers, which beautifully highlighted her long, straight legs.
She neatly tied her long, black hair into a high ponytail, revealing her smooth, full forehead. She looked dashing and full of youthful energy.
The girl in the mirror had an irrepressible joy and a confident glow on her face.
When Professor Meng Wan personally approached her and asked her to serve as Lu Jingyan's teaching assistant, she could hardly believe her ears.
