Chapter 31 was opened, and it was full of stones?!

He gave an "OK" sign and walked into the towering villa.

"Mr. Su, please bring your assets and come in with me."

Su Tingyuan's gaze fell on Su Yuze. "Yuze, come with me."

"Oh, okay."

Su Yuze snapped out of his daze and followed behind Su Tingyuan.

Su Tingyuan took out his key, opened the trunk, and took out the mahogany box that was placed on the outside.

I don't know why, but the closer it got to paying the money, the stronger the unease in my heart became, as if it were about to burn up.

He suppressed his emotions and ordered, "Move all the outermost ones inside."

These were all items he had already counted and intended to hand over to Mr. Smith.

The box in front of me is exactly the same as the one I had before leaving Chengdu.

Su Yuze picked up a mahogany box, his heart filled with increasing excitement.

It's coming soon, very soon! Soon all these assets will be his!

He used all his strength to lift a box, and Liu Yufen helped him lift the smallest one.

The three of them carried the assets and walked into the villa together.

Rows of guards stood around them, all staring intently at them.

Following Smith's instructions, many guards followed behind them and moved the remaining assets over.

After walking for a few minutes, the group arrived at a hall with a foreign flair.

Su Tingyuan placed the mahogany boxes on the ground. As expected, these boxes contained gold and silver jewelry, small yellow croakers, and countless large coins and red envelopes.

Smith, his face beaming with smiles, walked towards the three of them, leaning on his cane. "Mr. Su, these should be all there is, right?"

Su Tingyuan nodded, "Of course. I, Su Tingyuan, will not break contracts. I am a businessman who keeps his word."

"good!"

Smith clapped, his smile widening.

Seeing that he was standing still, Su Tingyuan frowned and said, "Mr. Smith, all the payments are here. Shouldn't you fulfill the contract?"

As he spoke, he reached out to grab the keys that were on the table.

Two guards stopped him.

Smith smiled and said, "Hey, Mr. Su, don't rush. Although I know you are a qualified and trustworthy businessman, just to be on the safe side, we should count the items in person to prevent any accidents, right?"

What do you mean by that?

Su Tingyuan frowned slightly.

At this moment, Liu Yufen advised, "Tingyuan, why don't you open it and let them count it? That way, they won't try to renege on their debts later!"

Su Yuze was also very curious about what was in the box, and said, "Dad, these assets aren't going anywhere, it's just a matter of taking a look."

He was already getting impatient.

Su Tingyuan cursed his teammates inwardly, his intuition telling him that opening it now might lead to some unexpected problems.

Seeing his silence, Liu Yufen urged, "Tingyuan, hurry up! We've been driving here for days and are exhausted. Let's get the keys and go back to pack our things."

Just thinking about the luxurious villa and countless other assets made Su Yuze's eyes flash with pride. "Dad, I think Mom is right. Let's open it quickly."

Smith stood in front of the assets, surrounded by the smoke of cigars.

"Mr. Su, please."

With the arrow already on the bowstring, Su Tingyuan glanced at Liu Yufen and Su Yuze before stepping forward.

The gleaming leather shoes clattered on the snow-white floor tiles with each step.

The moment he pulled out the key, Su Tingyuan's eyelids twitched wildly, and his weary heart felt uneasy, as if it were about to leap out of his chest.

Almost everyone's eyes were on him.

As the keys were taken out of the pocket, the light shone on the metal, and the keys rubbed together, producing a unique metallic clanging sound.

Su Tingyuan inserted the key.

Everyone stared intently at his movements, eager to see just how wealthy the capitalist was.

Su Yuze was extremely excited.

He gripped his sleeve tightly, his palms drenched in sweat without him even noticing.

"Snap—"

Turn the key to the side.

The lock is open.

With a serious expression, Su Tingyuan pulled out the key and, in front of everyone, grasped the edge of the box and opened it upwards!

Their expectant and curious gazes followed Su Tingyuan's movements and landed on the box.

But when Su Tingyuan saw what was inside, he froze on the spot, completely motionless.

Su Yuze also curiously peeked over, and upon seeing it, his reaction was exactly the same as Su Tingyuan's.

Inside, there was neither the gold and silver jewelry nor the banknotes one might have imagined.

Yes, there are some, but they are just stones of a dull gray color.

"What, what's going on?"

With his blood seemingly frozen in his veins, Su Tingyuan felt dizzy and almost couldn't stand up.

Su Yuze walked forward in disbelief, rubbed his eyes, and after confirming that he was not seeing things, grabbed Su Tingyuan's shoulder.

"Dad, where's the money? Where did the money go? Why are there only stones?!"

Su Tingyuan's mind was buzzing, and he had no strength to speak.

The moment Liu Yufen saw the stones in the box, her vision went black and she collapsed to the ground, her body going limp.

She and Su Tingyuan had checked it just the day before, and it was clearly full of assets. How come it turned into stone when they opened it today?!

The guards around him had their expressions change constantly the moment they saw the stone.

Mr. Smith, who was in the lead, exuded a chilling aura. "Mr. Su, are you playing me for a fool?!"

What's inside isn't assets; it's just cold, useless stones!

"I, Smith, have been involved in the black market for years, and I've always been the one outmaneuvering others." Smith tapped the ground with his cane. "I never imagined that I'd be outmaneuvered by a capitalist like you today!"

Su Tingyuan trembled as he reached into the box and desperately tried to dig deeper, but all he found inside were stones.

How could this be...?

The once elegant and dignified upper-class capitalists were now kneeling on the ground, their stubble-covered faces holding a handful of stones, their gold-rimmed glasses long since thrown to the ground.

Smith looked down at him, his leather shoes crushing his glasses without hesitation, as if trampling on his self-esteem.

The guards next to them opened all the other boxes, and they were all filled with stones.

Smith turned around coldly. "Throw them out, along with these crates! Don't let me see them here again!"

The guard glanced at the three men with disgust, then strode forward to deal with the boxes containing stones.

"How dare you waste our time, bah!"

The guard spat hard in the faces of the three men, and ignoring their struggles and resistance, threw them heavily to the ground.

"Take your stones and get out of here!"
