Chapter 210 She made an entire passenger ship wait for her.
The next morning, when Cen Yan got up, the sun was shining brightly outside. The continuous torrential rain had not had much of an impact on the small island, at least on the surface.
She stepped out of her room in her slippers, grabbed her toiletries, and went to the yard to take care of her personal hygiene, only to find that Qi Jingchuan was actually home.
Hearing the noise, Qi Jingchuan stopped watering the flowerbeds in the yard and came to her side. "It's only a little past eight. Why are you up so early? Why don't you sleep a little longer?"
"No, thank you." Cen Yan shook her head. "I need to ask for a few days off from work later, and I also need to come back to pack my things. What about you? Why didn't you go to the military base today?"
"I've asked for leave." Qi Jingchuan took a long stride to the water tank, scooped up a ladle of water, and washed the mud off his hands. "I've already got the boat tickets. After breakfast, I'll pack your things, take you to your workplace to ask for leave, and then I'll accompany you to the dock."
Cen Yan's smile was a little awkward. She really hadn't thought of asking Qi Jingchuan to take her to the pier, so she quickly explained, "I know Dongming Island like the back of my hand, I don't need you to take me."
"Breakfast is keeping warm in the pot. Today, the army canteen only has sauerkraut buns, no meat. Just make do with this." Qi Jingchuan said without room for argument.
Sending her to the dock to board the boat was not something that was discussed with Cen Yan at all.
Cen Yan sighed inwardly. If Qi Jingchuan insisted on seeing her off, then she couldn't keep her luggage in her spatial storage; she would have to pretend to pack a few clothes.
Thinking this, Cen Yan spat out the white foam in her mouth, quickly washed up, went into the room, took out a few autumn clothes from the wardrobe, and put them into her little leather shoes.
I also filled the basket with two hundred jars of Qibai ointment and handed them to Yang Mei when I got to work, asking her to help deliver them to Tianqi in a couple of days.
But it wasn't explicitly stated that this thing was for trading. Although she and Yang Mei had secrets about each other, the crime of speculation was far more serious than an office romance.
Therefore, she only told Yang Mei that Tian Qi was her cousin from the countryside.
I took a few days off and handed the goods over to Yangmei.
When the nurses at the health center learned that Cen Yan was going to Lancheng for an exam, they all asked her to help bring things back.
Adhering to the principle of being kind to others, Cen Yan did not refuse.
Sure enough, after walking around all morning, the list of things to bring back was two whole pages long, including some over-the-counter medicines that Dean Huang asked him to collect.
It wasn't until almost 11 a.m. that Cen Yan and Qi Jingchuan finally arrived at the dock. Cen Yan was especially worried that the delay would make them miss their boarding time.
When she arrived, she found that the people in charge of the passenger ship were waiting for her at the dock, or more precisely, they were waiting for Qi Jingchuan.
Upon seeing Qi Jingchuan, the ferry manager immediately greeted him, "Brother Chuan, you've finally arrived! If you hadn't come, I would have had to come up with an excuse to delay the departure time. This must be your wife, right?"
"My surname is Lin, and I'm in charge of passenger shipping on Dongming Island. You can just call me Xiao Liu. Brother Chuan told me a long time ago that you were going to Blue City. He came to my house late last night to remind me to make sure to save a seat for you. Brother Chuan is so good to you!"
Cen Yan then realized that Qi Jingchuan hadn't just gotten her a ticket; he had clearly made the entire passenger ship wait for her!
Thinking of this, Cen Yan looked up at the man.
Noticing his wife's gaze, his ears turned slightly red, and he cleared his throat.
"Enough with the nagging. Hurry up and get the boat ready to sail. I have a few more words to tell your sister-in-law."
Lin Xiaoliu said "Yes" and quickly ran back to the boat to make preparations, leaving Cen Yan and Qi Jingchuan some space to be alone.
Feeling the man's intense gaze, Cen Yan blushed involuntarily. "What do you have to say? Hurry up and say it, the ship is about to leave..."
