Chapter 103 Caught Yang Mei on a Date
Aunt Tang winked and smiled, "Gotta wash it, so that Squad Leader Yu can go out with a face full of bloody claw marks this morning?"
"You can't say that in front of Sister-in-law Yu and Squad Leader Yu, or they'll say we're making fun of her," Cen Yan reminded Aunt Tang.
While gossip can be enjoyable, it's counterproductive if it damages the unity of military families.
Aunt Tang waved her hand, "I'm an old woman, I still know my limits. I only came to whisper to you after I saw Sister Yu leave for work, to make sure she couldn't hear me. You know, Sister Yu makes a fuss all day and night, aren't you afraid that one day she'll push Sergeant Yu too far and go looking for a mistress outside, having an affair?"
"Shh! Aunt Tang, this involves reputation and conduct. You can't just say things like that. If it gets out, people will believe it whether it's true or not. Our jokes behind closed doors will become weapons that harm people. We can't let that happen."
Cen Yan's warm and gentle expression suddenly turned serious as she solemnly reminded Aunt Tang.
Cen Yan was willing to chat with her sisters-in-law about minor squabbles and private banter, but when it came to matters of principle or anything that might be harmful, she definitely couldn't say anything. Who knew that one day someone might overhear and spread the word? Even if it was false, people would believe it, which would be considered spreading rumors and could land you in jail.
Cen Yan explained the reasoning in detail and gave Aunt Tang a few reminders.
If Aunt Tang insists on courting death, then it's none of her business. Aunt Tang is good in every way, except she can't control her mouth. If she knows something, the whole family in the compound will know about it.
It seems I shouldn't chat with Aunt Tang too often in the future.
"Thank goodness you reminded me, Xiao Cen, otherwise I would have gotten carried away and started making up all sorts of nonsense!"
Aunt Tang covered her mouth and urged, "Go to work now, I won't keep you talking."
After saying that, Aunt Tang quickly left, taking small, quick steps and covering her mouth, indicating that she had taken her words to heart.
That's good, life in the family compound is quite boring, and she's hoping that Aunt Tang will bring her more news.
Cen Yan rode her bicycle to the hospital. It wasn't time for work yet, so everyone was taking their time.
On the way, Cen Yan also met Yang Mei, a nurse from the health center, who was entangled in a very intimate manner with a man.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be Zhou Chen, the intern who had just arrived recently. She had joined the hospital around the same time as Pang Ziyang and was the third doctor at the health center.
He'd only been at the hospital a few days when he started dating Yang Mei?
Seeing that their tongues were stuck together as if they were glued together, Cen Yan quickly sped up her bike, afraid that she would be discovered if she was even a fraction of a second too slow.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned, and Cen Yan was still discovered.
When Yang Mei saw the familiar, latest model 26-inch bicycle and then saw Cen Yan's stylishly dressed back, she quickly pushed the man away and rode after her.
"Cen Yan, Cen Yan, Cen Yan! Why aren't you paying attention to me?" Yang Mei called out several times before she finally caught up with Cen Yan and rode her bicycle alongside her, smiling at her.
Cen Yan pretended to just realize what was happening, "Xiao Mei, it's you! I was thinking about something and didn't notice anything else. Are you also going to work at this time?"
"You saw it all, right?" Yang Mei winked at her, clearly wanting to say something else.
Unable to keep up the act any longer, Cen Yan immediately laid her cards on the table: "Don't worry, I'm a married man, and it's a military marriage that's harder than climbing to heaven. I wouldn't have any improper thoughts about Dr. Zhou."
"Oh dear! I know what kind of person you are, but could you please do me a small favor?"
When Yang Mei heard Cen Yan admit that she was married and had no feelings for Zhou Chen, she breathed a sigh of relief, but soon her heart was filled with anxiety again.
