Chapter 432 Annoying Love-Obsessed Person
"Get out! All of you get out! I'm going to die, and none of you can stop me. Don't think you can stop me just by having someone keep an eye on me. If I can't hang myself, I can starve myself to death! You can't stop me!" Yang Mei's energetic voice came through the door as soon as she knocked.
Upon hearing this voice, Cen Yan knew that nothing had happened to Yang Mei, and she immediately breathed a sigh of relief. However, Yang Mei's words made her mood worse.
If Yang Mei is truly a spineless coward who would rather die than be with a man, then it proves that Cen Yan misjudged her and should never have befriended such a coward!
"Yang Mei, it's me, Cen Yan! Open the door!"
Cen Yan spoke in a very unfriendly tone. If Yang Xinxin hadn't been working under her and hadn't begged her, given Yang Mei's desperate act of wanting to die for a man, she wouldn't have bothered to persuade Yang Mei. Instead, she would have gone to her space to prepare a bottle of poison and had Yang Xinxin bring it back. One sip and she would surely die!
Footsteps came from inside the house, and then the door opened. Yang Mei peeked out, her eyes red as she stared at Cen Yan, her voice hoarse.
What brings you here?
"Xin Xin asked me to come."
As soon as Cen Yan finished speaking, Yang Mei pulled her into the room. Then Yang Mei looked at a woman with braided pigtails in the room.
"Sister-in-law, I'm fine now. You can go out now. You don't need to keep an eye on me."
The woman fled as if her life depended on it, clearly terrified by Yang Mei's tense demeanor.
Only Cen Yan and Yang Mei remained in the room, the latter still sobbing as if she had suffered a great injustice.
Yang Mei was sobbing and clearly unable to speak, so Cen Yan had to speak first.
"Zhou Chen came to propose marriage, and your parents have already agreed. The wedding is just around the corner, so why did you suddenly get yourself into this mess?"
"Yanyan!" Yang Mei looked up, tears streaming down her face like a broken string of pearls. "I want to break up with Zhou Chen! He's a two-faced hypocrite, I hate him!"
"No matter how much you hate him, you can't joke around with yourself and the child in your womb! Yang Mei, I thought you were a woman who could take things in stride and was straightforward, but I never expected you to be so stupid, ruining yourself like this for a man! "Do you know how heartbroken your parents are? When I arrived just now, your mother was talking and she almost fainted, as if she was about to die!"
Cen Yan didn't give Yang Mei a friendly look; she hated people who were obsessed with romance.
A woman who threatens suicide for a man doesn't deserve her kindness.
Yang Mei tensed up instantly, "Is my mom alright?"
"You still know how to worry? You're not hopeless."
Cen Yan sneered, "Auntie is alright, but the situation isn't good. Tell me, who would be completely unaffected if they saw their daughter threatening to hang herself? If you're really worried about your parents, then honestly explain the reason clearly. What happened that's worth risking your life for?"
Seeing Yang Mei's evasive and guilty expression, with not a trace of will to die, Cen Yan immediately understood that Yang Mei deserved a reprimand!
The nicer you talk to her, the more she acts up!
Yang Mei muttered, "Actually, I regretted it the moment I put the collar around my neck and kicked the stool to hang myself. Luckily, my parents heard the sound of the stool hitting the ground and rushed in to save me, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable..."
"Stop. I came here in the middle of the night not to hear your regrets. What exactly happened? If you're not going to tell me, I'm going back. Tell me when you want to."
Cen Yan interrupted her relief at surviving the ordeal and went straight to the point, "Did Zhou Chen cheat on her? Or did Zhou Chen call off the wedding?"
