Chapter 137 Could this money have been stolen by some evil spirit?

He looked around, and indeed Xiao Fang was nowhere to be seen in the yard. "Where's Xiao Fang?"

Two young police officers stepped forward and said, "Please be quiet for a moment."

He then looked at Li Qin and said, "Your son said you requested that the police be notified. Tell me why?"

Li Qin's face was covered in tears. She was no longer the factory director she used to be; her face was haggard.

"Officer, this is what happened. My daughter came out with Su Jiaojiao today."

As she spoke, she pointed at Su Jiaojiao and said, "I followed her out because I was worried. Just now, I overheard this old woman telling my daughter to date her son. My daughter disagreed, so they hid her. I still haven't been able to find her."

The young policeman immediately sensed something was wrong when he saw the mother and child in the courtyard; "Where did you hide them?"

The woman slapped her thigh and looked at the police officer, saying, "I'm innocent! My daughter brought her friend over today, and we were just being a little too hospitable, even preparing brown sugar water for them. Midway through, this friend said she had a stomachache, so my daughter took her to the restroom."

Another woman was there, and I offered her brown sugar water, but she wouldn't drink it. So I casually asked her a few questions, like how old she was and whether she had a boyfriend. My son is getting on in years, so I was thinking of playing matchmaker for the two of them. The young woman said she wasn't interested in dating right now, so we didn't say anything more.

She probably felt uncomfortable in our house! She insisted on leaving, and what could we do to stop her? We don't even know how her mother got to our house. She came in and started making a huge scene. We're more wronged than Dou E (a legendary figure known for her tragic fate). I bet that little comrade is home by now!

"That's right! I came back to my parents' house today, intending to work on making clothes with Jiaojiao, but who would have thought she would bring her cousin along, causing such a big misunderstanding."

Su Jiaojiao looked at Yuan Shuo with a wronged expression; "Uncle, I really just thought my cousin was bored at home, so I wanted to take her out for a walk. If I had known it would make her uncomfortable, I definitely wouldn't have brought her. Look at this misunderstanding."

Yuan Shuo believed Su Jiaojiao almost immediately and hurriedly said to the police, "Comrades, I'm sorry to have made you come all this way for nothing. It's all a misunderstanding."

Li Qin looked at her husband in disbelief. He hadn't seen their daughter yet, and he didn't say he was worried.

He believed his niece so quickly; does that mean his own daughter isn't as important as an outsider in his heart?

“Yuan Shuo, this is not a misunderstanding, this is a premeditated human trafficking operation.”

Then, turning to the two young police officers, he said, "My daughter is still missing. I suspect they've hidden her."

"Don't talk nonsense, I saw your daughter leave with my own eyes."

The police officer looked at the man who was speaking. He appeared to be in his early thirties, with a sleazy appearance and a face full of freckles.

"You said she left, but we didn't run into her on the way here. How do you explain that?"

The man chuckled, “She left through the back door.”

The police officer looked at him sharply; "Why didn't she use the main entrance? Why did she go through the back?"

"Well, there's a small path near the back gate that's closer to town. I saw she was in a hurry to get back, so I pointed out the way to her."

The young policeman walked towards the back door, and there was indeed a small path.

He also saw a white handkerchief on the ground. He picked it up and asked Li Qin behind him, "Do you think this is your daughter's?"

Li Qin took the handkerchief and said, "Yes, I embroidered this handkerchief for her, and she always carries it with her."

"If that's what they're saying, then your daughter might actually have already gone back. Let's go to your house and check on her now."

Li Qin nodded, and Yuan Shuo walked up to her and comforted her, "It's okay, Jiao Jiao is a sensible person, you don't need to worry, Xiao Fang will be fine."

She was absolutely furious; "Don't mention her to me, she's a jinx."

Upon hearing this, Su Jiaojiao's tears welled up, and Yuan Shuo felt heartbroken.

He had originally planned to invite her to stay for a nice meal at his house last time, but when he came back from grocery shopping, Li Qin said that Su Jiaojiao had left.

Without a doubt, she was the one who chased him away; he truly felt guilty towards his sister.

"Li Qin! Can you please not speak so harshly? Jiao Jiao meant well."

Li Qin ignored Yuan Shuo and asked Li Liang to take her back on his bicycle as soon as possible so she could check if her daughter had returned.

I don't have time to waste my breath arguing with these two.

Li Liang didn't dare to interrupt when his parents were arguing, but in this matter, he sided with his mother.

He knew his sister very well; she wouldn't have gone back early unless something had happened to make her uncomfortable.

So he rode his bicycle with his mother on the back, pedaling furiously towards the town.

The police followed behind. Su Li ate the food she used to cook in her space while watching them.

To be honest, this is no better than watching TV.

There were only two bicycles, and Yuan Shuo followed Su Jiaojiao out of the courtyard.

Even now, Su Jiaojiao still puts on a pitiful act in front of Yuan Shuo.

"Uncle, believe me, I never intended to harm Xiaofang. I just had a stomachache and went to the toilet. When I came out, she had already gone back inside. Before I could figure out what was going on, my aunt beat me up."

Her hair was a mess from Li Qin's rough handling, and her face was covered in scratches.

Yuan Shuo saw all of this, took out a wad of cash from his pocket, and handed it to Su Jiaojiao.

"I can't accept this money from my uncle. If my aunt sees it, she'll misunderstand me again."

"Here's two hundred yuan, take it. Your aunt won't know."

When Su Li saw the money in her spatial dimension, her eyes lit up. Su Jiaojiao didn't deserve to have that kind of money.

She threw a small stone from her spatial storage, which hit Su Jiaojiao's outstretched hand as she reached for the money.

Then he quickly threw a second stone, smashing the wad of money in Yuan Shuo's hand.

The two looked around at the same time, but didn't see anyone. They wondered how the stone had been thrown down.

In that split second, when Yuan Shuo tried to pick up the money from the ground, it was all gone.

He looked again at the spot where he had dropped the money, still not there.

"Jiaojiao, did you pick up the money on the ground just now?"

Su Jiaojiao shook her head; "Uncle, I didn't."

She looked down at the ground, but there was nothing there. Two hundred yuan had simply vanished.

Yuan Shuo looked around. There was no wind and no one around. Where did the money go?

"Who is it? Playing tricks there? Give me my money back right now, or don't blame me for calling the police."

After Yuan Shuo finished speaking, there was no sound from the surroundings.

Su Jiaojiao was also puzzled. Could there be a ghost here? She herself had been reborn, so what was impossible? Suddenly, she felt a chill run through her body.
