Su Li sneered, "I suggest you go home, wash up, and go to sleep! You can have anything in your dreams."
"You little brat, I'm talking to my daughter, stop being sarcastic."
Chen Shujing walked up to Su Li, took her arm, and said to the old woman, "What Su Li said is exactly what I wanted to say. You just ask for five hundred yuan. Where am I supposed to get that much? Even if I did, I wouldn't give it to you. I'm telling you right now, take this fifty yuan or not."
The old woman said unwillingly, "Two hundred is the lowest I can go, otherwise I'll stay here and never leave."
The fifty yuan she took back wasn't even enough to pay for Da Bao's expenses. She clearly had money, so why wasn't she willing to help her own younger brother?
If she gets into trouble later and tries to get her family to support her, she'll regret it eventually.
"So you're not going to take Fifty, are you? Fine, Auntie, let's go back. Let her make a scene here, we'll leave her alone."
As Su Li was talking, she tried to pull Chen Shujing home, and the old woman saw that the money that was about to be in her mouth was about to slip away.
He immediately grabbed Su Li's arm; "Don't go, fifty it is, give me the money now."
Su Li pushed her hand away; "Let go of me first, I'm going to write the letter severing ties now."
The old woman reluctantly let go, and Su Li went into the room, found paper and pen, wrote the letter severing ties, and then came out.
The old woman was illiterate, but she wasn't stupid either.
"You need to find someone who can read to read this, otherwise how am I supposed to know if this is a letter severing ties? What if it's an IOU you made me sign? Who am I supposed to complain to later?"
A young woman in the crowd said, "I'm a Chinese language teacher from the elementary school up ahead. Let me read it for you."
The old woman glanced at her. Since she had arrived, this woman had not spoken up for Chen Shuqing, so she felt relieved.
"Okay, then I'll trouble you."
Su Li handed the paper to the female teacher.
The female teacher read it aloud in front of everyone.
"But I can't write, so maybe we should just forget about this letter of severance!" She really didn't want to sign it.
Su Li had anticipated this move and said with a smile, "I just brought out some red clay from home. You can just put your fingerprint on it."
The old woman finally pressed her fingerprint on the document, took the fifty yuan, and left.
Seeing that the matter was resolved, everyone dispersed.
Chen Shujing breathed a sigh of relief and said to Su Li and Liu Wenqing, "Thank you for today."
Liu Wenqing smiled and said, "Shujing, there's no need for us to be so polite."
Su Li smiled and said, "Auntie, you two chat, I'll go back to my room first."
She didn't want to be a third wheel for the two of them.
After Su Li left, Chen Shuqing looked at Liu Wenqing and said, "I haven't told my family about our relationship yet, and I don't know if they agree. You should watch your words next time."
After all, she's getting on in years, and her son is already so grown up.
If Hua Nian objects, then she will respect her son's wishes and break off her relationship with Liu Wenqing.
Liu Wenqing; "........."
Why does it feel like middle-aged people are having a secret relationship, as if it's something they can't be in the open?
"Shujing, this had to be said sooner or later. My feelings for you are genuine. You know our Xiaoru's mother passed away early. She always liked you very much. The day you agreed to be with me, I told her. She was genuinely happy and said she would treat you like her own mother from now on. I think Huanian and Suli are good kids too. As long as we're happy together, they definitely won't object."
"I know, but I want to wait a bit longer. I'm worried that Hua Nian won't be able to accept it. Let's wait until after the New Year before I bring it up with Hua Nian again, okay?"
Although Liu Wenqing wanted to announce it to Chen Shujing as soon as possible and get married quickly.
But he also knew that Chen Shuqing had too many concerns right now.
Then he would be more patient; "Okay, I'll listen to you, but we can't delay any longer after the New Year. I want to marry you as soon as possible. You don't know how long Xiaoru has been looking forward to this day."
Chen Shujing smiled and nodded; "Okay, you can go ahead and do what you need to do! I should go home and cook."
Liu Wenqing, remembering he had come back to pick up the magazine and still needed to go to the newspaper office, nodded and said, "Okay."
The first thing Su Li did upon returning to her room was to look at the box of jewelry Chen Shujing had given her, taking it out one piece at a time.
She loved each one; she took out a bright green bracelet and put it on her wrist.
Her hands, from the village of hand-stringed bracelets, became increasingly white and tender, like jade, and were extremely beautiful.
Now that the country has gradually reopened, Su Li is thinking about buying a few more houses and what kind of business she should start after university.
She also majored in finance in college, and both she and the original owner of this body were good at making clothes.
Now is the perfect time; she has plenty of fruits and vegetables in her space, and she also wants to open a large supermarket.
Large supermarkets and clothing factories all need to buy land, and thinking about this, Su Li suddenly felt that her tens of thousands of yuan were not enough.
I still need to figure out how to make quick money during this period.
As she pondered, Su Li remembered that she had deer in her space. She wondered how much deer antlers could sell for now.
She wondered if there were any precious herbs like wild ginseng on that mountain. If so, she could transplant them to the cultivation area in her space, which would improve the quality. Last time she used her consciousness to check, she only glanced at it briefly, so she wasn't sure if there were any on the mountain.
Just as she thought of this, Su Li flashed into the space.
She went to check on the deer first. There was a lawn on the ground in the breeding area, and the deer was eating the grass.
