Su Li didn't think they were calling her and continued walking forward.
But then the man behind him called out again, "Hey, what's your name?"
Su Li then turned around and saw the man who had picked up her scarf last time.
The man had long legs, a strong build, and very attractive, sparkling eyes.
"Are you calling me?"
The man strode over; "Yes! Is anyone else here?"
"What do you want?"
"I'd like to know your name?"
"We're not close, why should I tell you?"
As Su Li was about to continue walking, the man quickly took a few steps and blocked her path.
Su Li moved to the left, and he moved to the left; Su Li moved to the right, and he moved to the right. In short, he wouldn't let her leave, and his eyes were fixed on her.
She was somewhat annoyed; "What are you doing?"
What's your name?
Su Li was so angry she laughed. She immediately retorted, "My surname is Shi."
The man chuckled softly; "I also share the surname Shi, and my name is Shi Yuan. May I ask your original name?"
This man is relentless; she seriously suspects that even after she tells him her name, he will still ask her which village she lives in.
"Move aside, let's talk again when we happen to meet again!"
After saying that, Su Li tried to push the person away and leave.
As it turned out, she overestimated her strength, and Shi Yuan stood there motionless.
She herself stumbled; this man was incredibly strong!
"Get out of my way."
"Okay, next time we meet, you must tell me your name."
As he spoke, he stepped aside.
Su Li quickly ran away.
She was terrified that the man would catch up with her again, so she ran as fast as she could.
She breathed a sigh of relief once there were no more men behind her.
She didn't know how that person recognized her, even though she had clearly been disguised.
She wasn't in the mood to sell anymore, and it was getting late.
She found a secluded spot, entered the space, and changed back into her original attire.
She headed towards the state-run restaurant, having eaten most of the meat buns she had bought earlier.
I was thinking of packing twenty of them and storing them in my online space. It would be quite convenient to eat a couple when I don't feel like cooking in the morning.
They had only gone halfway when they ran into Zhou Yuting, an old woman who was helping her walk into a small alley ahead.
The old woman had her head down, so Su Li couldn't see her face clearly. She thought she was one of the village aunties.
I just have some doubts. Isn't Zhou Yuting supposed to be a clean freak?
She disliked being touched, but the thought of her hanging out with a slovenly woman like Zhao Meilan made it all the more understandable.
She quickened her pace towards the state-run restaurant. As she passed Zhou Yuting, she heard a very soft voice say, "Help me."
Su Li stopped and looked at Zhou Yuting, who seemed to have no strength left, leaning against the old woman.
She stepped forward and stopped the old woman.
"Who are you? Let her go!"
The old woman then raised her head, glared at Su Li, and said, "I'm her mother. My daughter is sick, and I'm in a hurry to take her to the hospital. Get out of my way."
Su Li was now certain that this person was indeed a human trafficker.
Zhou Yuting's parents have already been sent to the countryside, so how could they possibly come over now?
She glanced around and saw a few scattered people.
So he shouted loudly, "Everyone come and see! There are human traffickers here who are abducting women."
Upon hearing this, the group headed towards this location.
The old woman got anxious and angrily retorted, "Don't listen to her nonsense! I'm taking my daughter to see a doctor. She has some issues with our family and is deliberately trying to delay my daughter's treatment."
The group was unsure of whom to listen to, and some even muttered, "This girl is really crazy," before turning and leaving.
"Comrades, the woman next to her is a fellow educated youth who came to the countryside with me. If you don't believe me, please help me call the police. We'll wait here for the police to come and confirm."
The old woman's face changed when she heard that the police had been called.
She pushed Zhou Yuting toward Su Li and ran toward the edge of the crowd.
But before she could run out, someone grabbed her and held her down.
The moment Su Li looked up, she met a pair of starry eyes.
It's that man named Shi Yuan.
He's everywhere.
Soon someone brought the police, and the traffickers were handed over to the police for questioning.
Su Li looked at Zhou Yuting, who was unconscious in her arms, sighed, and carried her to the town hospital.
Shi Yuan followed Su Li silently until they arrived at the hospital, at which point she realized that the man had been following her the whole time.
She didn't even bother to pay attention to him; she took Zhou Yuting directly to register.
But before she could walk over, the man stopped her.
"Follow me"
Su Li was exhausted from carrying Zhou Yuting on her back and didn't bother arguing with him.
Following him to a consultation room, Shi Yuan said to the middle-aged doctor inside, "This comrade has been drugged by human traffickers. Please take a look."
The doctor said that Zhou Yuting had only taken some sleeping pills and was fine; she could be discharged as soon as she woke up.
Su Li sat on a stool in the ward, dozing off.
I thought Shi Yuan had already left, but who would have thought he went to pack up his food.
He placed the lunchbox on the small table beside the hospital bed and said to Su Li, "Comrade Shi, have something to eat first!"
"Thank you for today. I'm not hungry, so I won't eat. How much is the medical bill? I'll give it to you now."
The man's brows furrowed so deeply they could crush an ant.
There's no need for formalities between us.
Su Li; "........"
The way he said it made it seem like there was something going on between them. Was this man taking himself too seriously? She really didn't like that feeling.
