He should have received a reward and promotion, but because of this incident, the girl made a big fuss, and his superiors demanded that he marry her.

In Gu Huanian's opinion, the higher-ups valued Shi Yuan quite a bit. As long as he was willing to humble himself and marry that girl, the matter would be over.

But Shi Yuan was determined and refused to agree no matter what, saying that he had never touched her even a hair.

Finally, in front of the girl's parents, Shi Yuan said, "You really want to marry me? I guarantee that the day your daughter marries me will be the anniversary of her death." His tone was fierce and menacing, not at all like he was lying, which terrified the girl and her family.
