Chapter 62 One or two were shamelessly eager to please.

The old lady waved her hand and said, "I'll go get it for you. This vegetable jar isn't worth much. You can take it and use it; you don't need to return it."

As she spoke, the old lady went into the house to get the vegetable jar.

The vegetable jar was quite heavy, and Su Li was worried that the old lady wouldn't be able to carry it, so she followed behind her and said, "Grandma, let me help you carry it."

The old lady chuckled and said, "Okay, okay."

Su Li finally realized something was wrong. Every time she came before, it would take the old lady a long time to understand what she was saying.

This time, I actually managed to answer her, and it seems I'm not hard of hearing at all.

It seems the spiritual spring water is indeed effective. Su Li observed the old lady and noticed that her legs and feet had become a bit more agile.

The jar was in the main room. Seeing the old lady about to take it, she quickly stopped her, saying, "Grandma, let me get it."

"Don't underestimate this old woman. Although I'm old, I'm still capable of lifting two jars."

Su Li didn't expect the little old lady to be so proud.

After leaving Lu Huai's house, Su Li carried the two jars back home.

In the afternoon, she made two jars of pickled green beans, and by the time she finished, it was almost dinnertime.

Su Li planned to cook the roe deer meat she had caught in the mountains last time that evening.

There were always outsiders around, so she couldn't explain and hadn't eaten.

Su Li first used her consciousness to skin the roe deer in the space, and then cut it into small pieces.

Take it out and wash it clean, then put it in scallion and ginger water and roe deer meat.

First, remove the fishy smell.

After the water boiled, she simmered the roe deer meat for ten minutes before taking it out and draining it.

Heat oil in a wok, then add scallions, ginger, garlic, star anise, and chili peppers. Stir-fry for a while, then add the roe deer meat.

Only when the pot sizzles can you hear a spicy aroma being released.

After stir-frying for a while, Su Li started adding spiritual spring water.

While the potatoes were simmering, she washed two more.

Peel off the skin with a knife, then cut it into small pieces, which will be stewed with the roe deer meat later.

I'll stir-fry some of the bok choy from the kitchen later, and then cook some rice. That should be enough for dinner.

When Gousheng carried firewood in, the yard was filled with the aroma of meat.

Seeing that Su Li was still in the kitchen, he didn't call her. He quietly placed the firewood next to the kitchen and turned to leave.

Su Li happened to come out to wash vegetables, and as soon as she came out, she saw Gou Sheng about to leave, so she quickly called him to stop.

"Gousheng, don't rush off, come and help me out."

When Gou Sheng heard that he needed help, he stopped and turned around, saying, "Sister Li, what kind of help do you need? Just tell me."

"Come help me start a fire."

Gou Sheng scratched his head, knowing that Sister Li was saying this on purpose to get him to stay for dinner.

Su Li was washing vegetables outside. Gou Sheng listened to the bubbling sound from the pot and smelled the aroma of the food in the air. His stomach also started to rumble.

Half an hour later, Su Li brought the stewed roe deer meat and potatoes from the pot, along with a plate of green vegetables, to the dining table in the main room, and also served two bowls of rice.

She didn't make mixed grain rice today. It had been a long time since she had eaten proper rice, and she really wanted to eat it, so she made it.

Su Li placed the rice on the table and saw Gou Sheng standing there dumbfounded.

She smiled and said, "What are you daydreaming about? Hurry up and wash your hands and come eat."

"Okay, I'll go wash my hands now."

After Gousheng washed his hands, Su Li picked up her chopsticks and placed a piece of meat on his plate. "Try it and see if I cook it well?"

Without even tasting it, Gousheng knew how delicious Sister Li's dishes were; he could remember them for a long time after each meal.

He took a bite of the meat Su Li had placed on his plate, and said with a satisfied look, "Sister Li's cooking is still so delicious."

"If it's delicious, have more. Don't be shy with me."

Gou Sheng nodded.

While they were eating and drinking well, Su Guoqiang and his son on the other side were practically starving.

Su Mu's leg wasn't healed, so she couldn't go to school and spent all her time lying at home, barely alive.

Su Guoqiang only eats one meal a day at noon. He doesn't dare to eat at the factory. Every time, he brings his lunchbox back and he and Su Mu each eat half of it.

Su Guoqiang's colleagues all started looking at him differently.

He was too thin and seemed mentally unstable every day.

That day, Su Mu was waiting at home for lunch, hoping to at least get enough to eat, but no one came.

Does this mean Su Guoqiang doesn't even want to feed him a single meal and really wants to starve him to death?

Thinking of this, he became very angry. He thought of going to find someone to ask for some food, but he fell off the bed after only a couple of movements.

He couldn't use his injured leg, and it took him a while to crawl on the ground before he could slowly get up using only one hand.

I waited at home for another hour. It was past dinner time, but Su Guoqiang still hadn't returned.

Just as Su Mu was about to smash something in anger, she heard a knock on the door; "Little Mu! I'm coming in."

Aunt Wang knew he couldn't get out of bed, so she specifically told him before pushing the door open and coming in.

She carried a bowl of mixed grain porridge and walked towards Su Mu by the bedside.

"You must be starving! Have a bowl of rice first."

Su Mu quickly sat up, almost snatched the bowl from Aunt Wang's hand, and began frantically shoveling food into her mouth.

Aunt Wang felt heartbroken. If she hadn't heard from her husband that Su Guoqiang had gotten into trouble and she was worried that the child would starve to death at home, she wouldn't have bothered to care.

What an ingrate! Xiao Li treated them so well! These two heartless bastards still bully people like this.

Especially Su Mu, everyone in their neighborhood knows that Su Li dotes on him like the apple of her eye.

But this person just can't tell right from wrong. What did Su Jiaojiao do for them, the father and son? They're all so shamelessly fawning over each other.

After Su Mu wolfed down his meal, Aunt Wang said, "Your father fainted at work today, and his colleagues from the steel mill have taken him to the hospital."
