"Untie me first, and I'll tell you."
Gu Huanian kicked him twice and stuffed the sock back into his mouth.
Then he searched the other rooms outside. When he went out, he saw the man who had gone down the well earlier. Without thinking, Gu Huanian knocked the man unconscious from behind.
He then searched the basement, knocking down several people along the way, leaving only one man alive.
Where are the people who were arrested a couple of days ago?
The man, lacking much courage, simply said, "In the second room upstairs."
Gu Huanian just came out of that room; there was no one else in it except Xie Feng.
It seems that Su Li stayed in that room before, and Xie Feng is probably someone she's bound to!
"How many people are in this basement in total?"
The man shook his head; "I don't know the exact number, but in the days I've been here, I haven't seen more than ten people."
Gu Huanian knocked the man unconscious by striking him on the back of the neck, then walked away in different directions.
He arrived at a place where there was a slight noise in the room, and he quietly approached.
Suddenly, the door was opened, and there was a view of Su Li pulling Chen Shujing toward the door.
Hearing the door open, she thought it was Xie Feng's subordinates who had come looking for her. She was about to pull Chen Shujing away to hide when she was surprised to find it was Gu Huanian.
How did you manage to find me?
Gu Huanian walked up to Su Li, looked her up and down, then glanced at Chen Shujing and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
Seeing her son, Chen Shujing felt relieved: "We're alright. Those people were after money. Su Li promised to give them money, so they didn't hurt us. What about those people? Did you have them arrested?"
Seeing that his mother seemed unaware of the truth, and with Su Li winking at him again, Gu Huanian understood everything.
This is why Su Li didn't tell her the truth, because she wanted to comfort her mother.
However, there was one thing he didn't understand: why did Xie Feng want to capture Su Li and his mother?
According to what Su Li said before, Xie Feng likes her. If that's the case, then why doesn't he even spare his own mother?
"Have they mistreated you these past few days?"
Su Li shook her head. Xie Feng did want to cut off her finger, but he didn't manage to.
Strangely enough, that jade pendant looked almost exactly the same as the one she had before.
She bought it from Lu Shan, originally just as a prop to make Xie Feng give up. When she received it, she didn't feel anything different.
Unexpectedly, this jade pendant was not simple either. Now she couldn't go into the space to check it out, and she didn't know what the space was like now.
Let's leave here first.
"I'll take you back first, and I'll call the police here later."
That's what they say, but Gu Huanian knew in his heart that Xie Feng's father was the mayor of Beijing, and his uncle held an important position there.
It's almost impossible to put him in jail for this kidnapping.
The three of them quickly left the basement, and Su Li only realized after she came out that this place was actually the outskirts of the city.
This basement must have been built a long time ago; the Xie family is truly extraordinary.
After returning home, Su Li and Chen Shujing washed up and went to bed.
Gu Huanian reported the incident directly to the police. He made a simple report without mentioning who was inside.
The police quickly responded and arrested everyone inside.
However, Gu Huanian later inquired and found out that Xie Feng had also been released in a couple of days.
The reason given was that he was also tied up when they arrived, making him a victim.
Su Jiaojiao had actually secretly left the basement while Xie Feng was being tied up by Su Li.
She took a train back to the southern province overnight. According to her timeline from her previous life, the country has gradually opened up by now.
Street vendors have started to sneak off to set up stalls, and batches of educated youth are returning to the city.
After returning to the southern province, she went home immediately.
She didn't have the house key and couldn't get in, but luckily she knew where Su Guoqiang's steel plant was, so she went directly there.
When she arrived at the steel plant, she said to the old man at the gate, "Could you please call Su Guoqiang for me?"
"You wait here, I'll go get help now."
Su Jiaojiao didn't have to wait long before Su Guoqiang came out with the gatekeeper.
He was a little excited to see Su Jiaojiao return; "Jiaojiao, weren't you at the farm? Why are you back? You didn't run away, did you? If you get caught, it'll be terrible. You should go back right now."
Su Jiaojiao didn't know why, even though the South Province was so far from the Northeast, Su Guoqiang knew about her being sent down to a farm.
She shook her head. "I didn't sneak back. Someone helped me get back."
As Su Jiaojiao spoke, tears streamed down her face: "Dad, you have no idea what I've been through this past year. Su Li has hurt me so badly, I really wish I were dead now."
Su Guoqiang comforted her, "Don't be afraid, Dad will take care of everything. When that bitch Su Li comes back, I will teach her a lesson and get revenge for you."
Su Jiaojiao nodded, "Dad, you're still the best to me."
Su Guoqiang took Su Jiaojiao home, and then he went next door and brought back a little girl.
Su Guoqiang handed the child to Su Jiaojiao, who instinctively took it.
Looking at Su Guoqiang with a puzzled expression, he asked, "Dad, whose child is this?"
Su Guoqiang was somewhat surprised that Jiaojiao didn't recognize her as her daughter at first glance.
However, he didn't think much of it. The mother and daughter had been separated for more than a month, so it was normal for them not to recognize each other. After all, children change every day.
