Ruler
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room were covered by heavy curtains, with only a warm yellow night light quietly on. Zhou Min suddenly woke up, but soon she closed her eyes in despair.
Damn biological clock.
Wake up when you shouldn’t wake up, and don’t wake up when you should wake up.
"Awake? Then it's time to settle the score."
A hoarse voice sounded not far away, followed by the sound of chains, and Zhou Min felt his neck being gently pulled.
She had every reason to suspect that Zhou Qiting had mixed sleeping drugs into the air of the bedroom. Otherwise, how could she have slept so soundly without waking up even when her hands and neck were tied with chains?
Feeling discouraged, Zhou Min felt a sense of admiration for the eldest lady. She had been tormented for a long time, and last night she looked so tired that she could sleep all night long. Now, in order to take revenge on her, she could actually wake up earlier than her.
If this happened in the past, it would be an inspirational story comparable to sleeping on straw and tasting gall.
It was death anyway, so Zhou Min reluctantly opened his eyes again and looked straight at the eldest lady sitting on the edge of the bed.
Zhou Qiting was seen staring sideways at the person who had just opened his eyes. Her black hair was like a waterfall, cascading down her graceful shoulders and winding in front of her exquisitely slender body.
Besides a hint of laziness, there was a hint of displeasure in his eyes. All of this was intertwined in his deep black pupils under the dim light, making him look deadly and seductive.
Zhou Min seemed unable to escape from the night.
The rapid heartbeat quickly awakened the body that was still in standby mode, and the hot blood steamed the body.
It's over, I hope I don't have high blood pressure. Feeling dizzy and swollen, Zhou Min tugged at the chain wrapped around his wrist and found it was tied very tightly, with the base of his palm pressed against his wrist, leaving almost no room for movement.
In addition to the collar he wore last night, his neck was tied with a thin chain with a loose knot. When pulled, it would tighten, tightly squeezing his flesh. The other end was held in Zhou Yiting's hand.
Well, in short, Zhou Min is completely sober.
So she was very decisive: "I'm sorry, I won't dare to do it again, please let me go."
Finally, fearing that the person in front of her would think she wasn't sincere enough, she squeezed out a few more tears, looked at the person pulling the chain around her neck with red eyes, and said pitifully: "Zhou Qiting..."
This was good. After a long plea for mercy, the corners of the young lady's mouth curled up into a faint smile. The displeasure in her eyes disappeared, but it turned into a stronger interest. Zhou Min felt a chill down his spine under the stare.
"Then tell me, what did you do wrong?" The voice was still a little hoarse after a night's rest, and now it was accusing the culprit.
As the day wore on, Zhou Min's shame was rekindled. His mind automatically replayed the events of last night, and he found it difficult to speak. So, he chose a crime that wasn't so difficult to articulate, and hesitantly mumbled, "My fault is... I bit you without your permission."
"What else?" Zhou Qiting increased the strength in his hands and watched Zhou Min's slightly protruding larynx tremble.
The gradually tightening chain around his neck dug slightly into his skin. Zhou Min could feel the pulse on the side of his neck throbbing, as if trying to be transmitted through the thin chain to the person who was controlling his breathing.
Her lips parted slightly, breathing softly, her cheeks flushed with memories. After a moment of calming down, she continued, "My mistake was... not listening to you."
"Yeah?"
Zhou Qiting chuckled and wrapped the chain around her palm. She watched as Zhou Min, who was increasingly suffocating and had to exert force on his waist and abdomen, raised his upper body, and moved closer to her little by little as the chain gradually shortened.
It was so close that Zhou Min knelt in front of her and could smell the familiar warm fragrance on her body. He subconsciously took a deep sniff, instinctively wanting to absorb more.
The tips of his teeth rubbed up and down impatiently, and his pupils, which had been slightly dilated due to difficulty in breathing, refocused, and were lit up with a little light through desire.
Zhou Qiting raised her other hand, and only then did Zhou Min see clearly what was in her hand that had just been obscured due to the angle... a sandalwood ruler.
He gently lifted Zhou Min's chin with the end of the ruler, carefully admiring the lust in her eyes for a while, then Zhou Qiting suppressed his smile and whispered, "Your mistake is that you don't repent."
Apart from showing no sign of remorse, his actions were also very honest, clearly showing his thoughts on his face. He was almost telling Zhou Yiting directly that as soon as she loosened her control, the person who was listing his sins in the previous second would commit the same sins again without restraint.
Blatant greed and incorrigible covetousness.
Before, he knew how to restrain his claws, but after he tasted the sweetness, he showed his true colors. Zhou Qiting felt it necessary to teach the puppy a lesson on what it means to obey orders.
"Are you afraid of pain?" Zhou Qiting's white jade-like knuckles contrasted sharply with the deep color of the sandalwood ruler. She pinched the ruler and gently patted Zhou Min's cheek.
Of course he wasn't afraid, he actually enjoyed it. Zhou Min felt the restraint on his neck grow stronger as he swallowed, and this feeling of suffocation, combined with the vague expectation of a punishment more severe than a light pat, gave rise to a deeper sense of dissatisfaction.
Given the mischievous nature of the young lady, Zhou Min was worried that even if she spoke frankly, she might not get what she wanted. So, the words on her lips became insincere lies. She lowered her eyes, pretending to be afraid, and suppressed her excited trembling voice: "I'm scared, very scared..."
The ruler moved down from the cheek little by little. Zhou Min could feel that although the polished corners of the ruler had lost their sharpness, the feeling of it sinking into the skin when he pressed down slightly was very strong.
The round, dull feeling gently brushed across the side of her neck, causing a crackling sound as it passed through the tightening chain, resonating closely with her pulse.
When it was falling, it paused and retracted some of its strength. The hard ruler just scraped across the straight collarbone through the skin, and it made the soul seem to itch.
After picking up one shoulder strap, the ruler gently stroked the solid shoulder, as if wanting to let this piece of dead wood be infected with the burning body temperature so as to take root of spring.
Every time the ruler traced an inch of his skin, Zhou Min's spirit became more tense.
The body is like land that has been dry for a long time, anxiously and thirstily waiting for an unexpected gift.
The person holding the gift, however, simply used the ruler to playfully tease Zhou Min's upper body, before finally saying lightly, "Forget it if you're afraid of the pain."
We can't just let it go like this!
Zhou Min suppressed a sigh, almost gritting his teeth, but waited for such a result. Naturally, he was unwilling to accept it, so he said insincerely: "I really won't dare to do it again. Sorry."
There was a sneer after the silence.
Zhou Qiting wore a smile that barely reached his eyes. He yanked the chain, forcing the kneeling figure to bend down to look at him. He whispered, "It suddenly occurred to me that there's another way to make you obedient."
Then she completely loosened the restraints on his hands, giving Zhou Min some room to breathe, and continued, "As long as you remain obedient, it doesn't matter whether you repent or not. Don't you agree?"
Zhou Min did not feel happy about regaining his breathing ability, but began to think about the words of the person in front of him that had deeper meaning.
The next moment, Zhou Qiting did not keep the secret any longer and calmly revealed the cards in his hand, each of which made Zhou Min unable to cope.
"You met my mother yesterday. Do you think she would trust you, the 'Investigation Agency Agent'?"
"She might not point out your problem directly to the Zheng family because of me, but she should at least hint at it indirectly, right? Can your investigation still proceed smoothly?"
"And..." Zhou Qiting paused at the right time, put his palm on Zhou Min's cheek, and gently rubbed her dry lips with his fingertips. His eyes were dim, as if he was recalling something.
"You should also know that the man you beat that night died in a strange way, right?"
Zhou Qiting recalled the puppy's crying that night, and her heart softened a little. She then said softly, "My promise is still valid."
So these problems may not be a problem.
Zhou Min frowned. Combining the information in Zhou Qiting's words with the clues she had, she guessed that Zhou Qiting probably hadn't recognized her identity yet. The promise she made naturally meant that she would willingly give her true self in exchange for the young lady satisfying her in anything.
But how could that be possible? She couldn't be willing, committed, or authentic.
To clear the last of his doubts, Zhou Min met Zhou Qiting's gentle gaze and asked the question he had never dared to bring out: "Who killed that man?"
He hadn't dared to ask before because he was afraid the young lady wasn't behind it. Asking would be like exposing himself. Now that she had spoken so bluntly, Zhou Min really needed to take this opportunity to get to the bottom of it, so he could figure out who was behind it.
Seeing her ask this question so directly, Zhou Qiting could easily guess that she was one of the possible answers in Zhou Min's mind.
"You suspect it's me?" Zhou Qiting's eyes were cold, but the corners of his mouth curled up in an unpredictable arc, as if he was smiling. "So in your eyes, my bottom line is so low."
Hearing this, Zhou Min breathed a sigh of relief in her heart. She didn't know when it started, and subconsciously she didn't want Zhou Qiting to get involved in these things. It was enough for her to just stay high and mighty.
When Zhou Min realized how relieved he was about this, he was stunned for a moment, and then he comforted himself, thinking that maybe he was waiting for the last moment to drag the young lady into the dust with his own hands?
His thoughts changed in a flash. Zhou Min used his bound hands to slowly collect the chains scattered in front of him, raised his eyes to look at the man who was still slightly angry, and smiled faintly.
"It doesn't matter."
"Just like you don't care whether I repent or not, I don't care what your bottom line is."
Zhou Min had the intention of taking advantage of the person, but his eyes were shining with clarity. He looked straight at the person in front of him and personally placed the end of the chain that controlled his weakness in Zhou Qiting's palm.
"Can you, the real you, accept the unrepentant me?"
