Chapter 12 Rumors of a Baby

When Su Rui returned to the county government office, it was almost midnight.

After he came back, "Lotus" brought over a bowl of snake soup and two fresh snake gallbladders.

It could still pretend to be a maid outside, but once it entered Suri's room, its true colors were revealed, and it sat down next to Suri as if it were half the owner.

"You humans are so cruel! Snakes are so cute, how can you eat them?"

"Do you want to eat?"

Suri was not fooled by its words. Seeing it swallowing its saliva, she politely invited it.

"Is it really possible?" it asked in surprise.

Suri nodded.

“That’s great!”

Upon hearing this, "Lotus" cheered, took the snake soup and began to eat it quickly, as if she was afraid that Su Rui would regret it.

Suri knew that it was a foodie, so she was not surprised by its rude behavior.

The snake soup was gone, so Su Rui picked up two snake gallbladders, put them in his mouth and swallowed them, then rinsed his mouth with cold boiled water.

He frequently opened his Golden Light Pupil today. Although the time was short and he did not feel any obvious discomfort, he should indeed eat some snake gall to nourish his eyes.

"Is the snake soup delicious?" Su Rui asked when he saw her eating like a starving ghost.

"Delicious..." The little fox demon nodded quickly in response while eating.

"Will you eat it next time?" Su Rui asked deliberately: "Snakes are so cute..."

"Be sure to eat more next time!" The little fox demon quickly took over the conversation.

Suri rolled her eyes and told it to finish eating and leave quickly.

Su Rui felt it was very strange to see her with a "lotus" face all day long, and it was time for her to start practicing!

"See you in the kitchen tonight at midnight, don't forget!"

The little fox demon licked his lips, still unsatisfied, and left with the empty plate after leaving a few words.

Su Rui shook his head, calmed down his emotions, and then sat down cross-legged to draw on the power of the stars and began to practice.

At three quarters past midnight, Su Rui finished his practice, lit the oil lamp, and went to the kitchen in the backyard.

The little fox demon had been waiting in the kitchen for a long time, and when he appeared, he immediately urged him to kill a chicken and make soup.

Today the little fox demon prepared two chickens. Their feet were tied and they were dozing on the ground, unaware that the blade of fate had already been swung at their necks.

Su Rui skillfully slaughtered the chicken and bled it, while the little fox demon poured out the boiling water, brought it to Su Rui, and began to scald the chicken to remove its feathers. The two worked together, and they quickly cleaned both chickens. Su Rui finally steamed one and made soup with the other for a late-night snack.

"I'll make you some beggar's chicken tomorrow. Prepare the lotus leaves and mud! Otherwise, won't you get tired of drinking chicken soup every day?"

Su Rui and the little fox demon said as they ate the chicken in big mouthfuls.

"Not greasy, not greasy! Chicken soup is the best!" The little fox demon swallowed a big mouthful of chicken soup and made a satisfied gesture.

"I met a wolf demon in the city tonight. He stole a child from a family in the city..." Seeing that the atmosphere was almost set, Su Rui recounted his experience today.

"Those guys are here too!" Upon hearing this, the little fox demon slowed down his eating of the chicken soup, and his pupils shrank into vertical needle shapes, but soon returned to normal.

"I just happened to run into him and saved him..." Su Rui continued. He didn't want to show off, he just wanted to state the facts.

"you?"

The little fox demon clearly didn't believe it. She had already known Su Rui's true character and strength during her time at the Su family. With his skills, he wouldn't be able to defeat even an ordinary wild wolf, let alone a wolf demon!

"If you don't believe me, you can go out and ask around tomorrow... Oh, no, let me tell you this. The point is not that I drove away the wolf demon, but that a wolf demon appeared in the city!" Su Rui was about to explain himself when he realized the building was tilted, so he quickly changed the subject back.

"I'm already in your house. Isn't it normal for wolf demons to appear in the city?" The little fox demon blinked and asked back.

Suri stared at her without saying a word.

"Okay, it's indeed abnormal!" The little fox demon felt a little guilty when he looked at her with his straight eyes, and hurriedly changed his words.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Su Rui didn't want to use her as a breakthrough point, but the city looked like it was about to be in trouble recently, which made him very uneasy.

"Rumor has it that there is a treasure hidden in Tongqu County..." He stopped talking here and gave a warning: "Those who come out of the mountains are all cruel and bloody guys. You may encounter a wolf demon today, and you may encounter a tiger demon tomorrow. Recently, if it is not an urgent matter, you should not go out. It is really dangerous!!"

Su Rui had heard similar warnings three times today, but he didn't take them lightly. He had already decided to go to crowded places tomorrow. He just didn't believe that these demons and monsters would dare to appear in crowded places!

"What treasure is it?" Su Rui asked tentatively.

The little fox demon shook his head and did not answer, but just ate the chicken in silence.

Su Rui did not ask any more questions. He was already very satisfied with the amount of useful information he could get from it today.

Since these guys are just here to hunt for treasure, I guess the situation won't be that chaotic! Su Rui thought to himself.

The man and the demon ate for a while, each with their own thoughts.

The only sound in the quiet kitchen was the sound of chewing food.

Su Rui stopped eating when he was about 70% full: "I'm full. According to the agreement, the rest is yours!"

"Hmm~" the little fox demon puffed up his cheeks and nodded.

Su Rui stood up, patted his butt and left the kitchen.

The little fox demon sat there and ate for a while. After confirming that Su Rui had really left, he took out a yellowish-brown bead as big as an ox eye from his arms.
