Chapter 131 Law Enforcement Mission

"Hic... It's okay, this wine is really strong! I, your uncle, almost couldn't hold it in!"

The woman burped, took a break, and then spoke.

Seeing that Uncle Zhou was fine, Su Rui's spirit returned and he immediately tried to dissuade him, "Uncle Zhou, there's only one jar of Five Poison Wine left. How about you save some and drink it tomorrow?"

Persuading someone requires skill. If you try to persuade her not to drink, you're definitely not going to succeed. However, if you tell her that the wine is rare and infrequent, and ask her to drink it slowly and save it for later, you might be able to persuade her.

However, Uncle Zhou was clearly not a stingy person. He immediately waved his hand and said, "Oh, that's alright. Let's drink while we can! Let's finish today's drink and talk about tomorrow's drink tomorrow... Come on, let's drink together!"

After saying that, she handed over the jar of wine.

Su Rui subconsciously wanted to take a step back, but when he saw the woman glaring at him, he immediately stepped forward and took the wine jar, intending to take just a small sip. However, he underestimated the flow rate of the wine jar and took a big gulp at once, almost choking him.

Su Rui hurriedly gulped down the wine in his mouth. He felt as if he had swallowed a mouthful of charcoal. A ball of scorching flame burned directly from his throat into his abdomen, making him feel like he was about to explode.

It's not like he hasn't drunk Shaodaozi wine before, but that wine was only about 30 degrees at most. The strength of the Wudu wine he just took was at least 70 or 80 degrees. If he had a match, he could even perform a fire-breathing performance.

Cough cough cough...

Su Rui hurriedly put down the wine, covered his throat and started coughing.

The woman quickly reached out and used her magic power to grab the wine jar that Su Rui had placed on the ground, so that Su Rui would not accidentally spill the wine.

After he used his luck to suppress the discomfort in his body, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing that he had recovered, the woman waved her hand and said, "Forget it, I won't force you if you can't drink! Go and get busy, don't disturb me while I'm drinking!"

The first half of this sentence was said to Su Rui, and the second half was said to Su Rui, Yuan Ning and Yu Shuangshuang.

Upon hearing this, Su Rui felt as if he had been granted amnesty. He imitated Yuan Ning and Yu Shuangshuang, bowed to the woman, and then quietly retreated.

"Junior Brother Su..."

Just as Su Rui was about to walk out of the Law Enforcement Hall, he was stopped by Yuan Ning.

Su Rui's heart skipped a beat, thinking that Yuan Ning was going to scold him for giving wine to Uncle Zhou.

He had no choice but to walk towards Yuan Ning, bowed and asked, "Brother, what do you want to talk to me about?"

"Uncle Zhou has just determined your responsibilities. If you have time, you'd better go to the Tianshu Room. There will be a letter of request for help sent from the Taoist temple at the foot of the mountain!" Yuan Ning said in a calm tone.

Tianshu Room is the first room on the right side near the entrance of the Law Enforcement Hall. Su Rui also discovered that each room in the Law Enforcement Hall has a unique name when he followed Yuan Ning's gaze.

"Thank you for the reminder, senior brother!" Since Yuan Ning was just giving him guidance out of kindness, Su Rui had no choice but to accept it.

Yuan Ning nodded and was about to leave when, for some reason, he turned back and warned, "Junior brother, you have to complete the mission of the Law Enforcement Hall, but your own cultivation always comes first. Remember!"

"Brother, I know!"

It was obvious that this was genuine concern, and Suri immediately responded with a grin.

Yuan Ning nodded, and without looking back, he took Yu Shuangshuang and walked into the second wing named "Sun" on the left near the door.

Su Rui restrained his smile, took a deep breath, rubbed his face which was burning from the alcohol, and walked towards Tianshu Room.

It was a small room, ten feet long and wide. On a lampstand hung an oil lamp emitting the scent of sandalwood smoke. It burned an unknown animal fat. The lamp's light was a brilliant white, illuminating the entire room. The room was dry and clean. Against the inner wall stood a cloud bed carved from rock, covered in scrolls of documents. Su Rui suspected that these were the requests for help from the Taoist temple at the foot of the mountain that Yuan Ning had mentioned.

Su Rui picked up a volume, opened it and started reading.

"There are poisonous bees in Niutou Town that kill people. These bees are about the size of an adult's fist. The pain is unbearable and the bees are extremely venomous. Anyone stung twice will not survive more than two nights and will die wailing. I hope the elders and brothers will have mercy and come down the mountain to eliminate the bees as soon as possible! The prosperous and optimistic people of Niutou Town pay their respects!"

Suri put the document aside and took out another one.

"There's a demon haunting Chatou Town, specializing in seizing human souls to use in rituals to refine evil weapons..."

Su Rui read several of them in a row. Almost all of them were requests for help, and almost all of them were about demons. The demons were either demons or demon humans, which made him feel a little bored.

This world of immortals and demons offers the chance to achieve immortality, but also houses monsters and demons that eat and kill people. When things are beautiful, they are beautiful to the extreme! When things are cruel, they are also cruel to the extreme!

But overall, this world still maintained a generally orderly state, because the forces of righteousness still held the upper hand. The mountains were protected by righteous sects, and the dynasties below were also protected by extraordinary forces such as Shinto and martial arts, barely maintaining a fragile balance.

In order to maintain this peaceful situation, righteous disciples need to go down the mountain from time to time to slay demons and monsters, and at the same time, obtain some of the resources brought by the demons.

Although the Qingcheng Sect is a small sect, it also has areas that need to be protected, and the Law Enforcement Hall happens to be one of the executive departments.

Su Rui stuffed the seven or eight documents he had read into his small cloth bag. He planned to take Chi Jiao, the little fox demon and the other two down the mountain after leaving Xuanmiao Temple, and then visit all the places recorded in the documents to meet those noisy monsters and demons.
