Chapter 188 Senior Brother’s Tips

"This wine is not good, it has too strong a medicinal taste! I'll just drink this jar, and you can divide the rest!" After taking a big gulp and wiping the corner of his mouth, Elder Zhou said bluntly.

Yuan Ning and the others were all incredulous. Could there possibly be a wine in this world that Elder Zhou couldn't handle? Elder Zhou was a renowned alcoholic, having drunk at least eight thousand jars of fine wine, if not ten thousand. He could thoroughly appreciate any wine and offer a lengthy discussion. Yet, he actually declared this wine unacceptable?

So, the always well-behaved Yuan Ning couldn't help but pick up a jar of Bixue Wine, opened the seal, and took a sip. Then, a look of surprise appeared on his face. At first, Su Rui had said the wine could replenish blood, and he'd thought Su Rui was exaggerating. But after drinking it, he felt a faint warmth flow through his internal organs, limbs, and bones, warming him up and making him feel indescribably comfortable.

"Wow, this wine... is delicious!" Yuan Ning blurted out.

"Is it really that magical?" Upon hearing this, the other people also picked up the wine jars and started to taste it.

"Hmm! It actually works!"

"I feel like my injuries have gotten better!"

"Me too! This wine is amazing!"

For a time, everyone praised the green blood wine.

Su Rui smiled a little embarrassedly when he heard this and said, "I got the secret recipe of this Bixue wine by chance. If you are interested, you can come to me!"

Su Rui's generosity earned everyone's praise. He took the opportunity to say, "Junior brother, I'm a wine lover. If you have any secret recipes for brewing wine, please share them with me!"

Everyone agreed.

No one noticed, except Su Rui, but Elder Zhou, who was sitting on the cloud bed, had already picked up the large purple-gold gourd on the other side and started guzzling it. My goodness, that single gulp must have weighed three pounds! She didn't even take a breath in between gulps. Su Rui was really worried she'd choke on the wine!

Elder Zhou put down the purple-gold gourd, burped, and a faint blush crept across her face. She sighed contentedly and muttered to herself, "This peach blossom wine truly has a unique flavor. It's much better than your green blood wine... though, it would be even better if it were a little richer."

Su Rui's mind moved, and he quickly stepped forward and asked, "Elder Zhou, in your opinion, how can this wine be improved?"

Elder Zhou narrowed his eyes slightly, thought for a moment, and said, "Hmm...you could try adding some spiritual herbs, or adjusting the brewing time and temperature."

Su Rui listened attentively, taking Elder Zhou's words to heart. He decided to return and study it carefully. Next time, he would go to the Rongcheng magistrate and "extort" another purple gold gourd. Amidst laughter and joy, the gathering concluded.

After everyone dispersed, Su Rui followed him out of the Law Enforcement Hall. But before he had gone far, Yuan Ning caught up with him and said, "Junior Brother Su, I've already reported this operation to the Master. I've also informed the Master that Senior Brother Yu'e asked me to recommend you for merit. I expect the Master will summon you and reward you soon. Don't leave Golden Whip Cliff for the next few days!"

Yuan Ning spoke as fast as lightning, and before Su Rui could even react, he had already finished his words. However, after hearing what he said, Su Rui felt as happy as if he had eaten honey.

He knew that receiving a reward from the headmaster was a rare opportunity. He also knew that all this was thanks to the help of his elusive master. If it weren't for Master Yu'e asking Yuan Ning to recommend him, he might not have received this reward.

Su Rui thought to himself: "Although my master is mysterious, he always solves problems for me when I need him most. I cannot let him down and must work harder to practice." He secretly made up his mind, and after saying goodbye to Yuan Ning, he walked into the Sutra Library not far away.

The Sutra Library remained largely unchanged from the first time he left. The old Taoist brother was still soundly asleep, leaning against a pillar. He hadn't brought the red dragon and the little fox demon with him this time, so the old Taoist brother didn't offer any pointers on where he could and couldn't go. Instead, he used a mysterious Taoist technique to say, "Pay close attention to the clues to the Immortal Mansion; they might be useful later!" With that, he fell silent.

Su Rui tried to get some information out of him, and kept nagging in his ear for a long time, but the old man refused to say a word and even made a slight snoring sound. The sound was like bursts of thunder, echoing in Su Rui's ears, as if telling him not to waste his breath.

Su Rui did not feel disappointed, because he knew that this senior brother had a strange personality. If he did not take the initiative to speak, it would be difficult for others to get any useful information from him.

So he stopped disturbing his senior brother and walked into the bookshelves on the first floor of the Sutra Library.

His main purpose of coming here this time was to find the whereabouts of the broken blade of the Qingluan Sword, but after entering the Sutra Library, he could not move his feet. He did not deliberately choose books in a certain field, but flipped through them randomly. If he saw content that interested him, he would finish reading it, and if he was not interested, he would put it down decisively.

If knowledge has two dimensions: width and height, then the books on the first floor are treasures that increase the width of knowledge, while the collections on the second, third and fourth floors are magic weapons that increase the height of knowledge.

Su Rui spent the whole day rummaging through the books. When he felt hungry, he realized it was already late at night.

However, the Sutra Library was not dark at all. Someone had placed many night-shining pearls in the Sutra Library, making the night in the Sutra Library as bright as day. Just as he was thinking about where to find something to eat, a tall figure rushed in.
