Chapter 216: Traces of the Demonic Cult

When the three heroes reunited, they were filled with emotion and sighs.

Su Rui only then realized that the body-cultivation sect Wu Qianqian had joined was actually the Putuo Sect, the largest sect in the South China Sea. Legend has it that the Putuo Sect's founder was Cihang Zhenren, a legendary figure who practiced both Buddhism and Taoism and was one of the rare immortals to have achieved sainthood in the flesh. Others said that Cihang Zhenren had achieved immortality a thousand years ago and still roamed freely in the Earthly Immortal Realm.

However, these were ultimately just rumors, with no solid evidence to prove their authenticity. However, the fact that Putuo Sect, a major sect focused on physical training, and that they tamed a group of dragon Taoist soldiers was undeniable.

Wu Qianqian held a special position within the Putuo Sect. As the sect leader's last disciple, she enjoyed a small, independent mountaintop. It was no wonder that when she first met Su Rui, she boldly declared that she wanted the sect leader to accept her as a disciple and make her her junior apprentice!

Wu Qianqian led Su Rui and Shi Yi all the way to her Xiaonantian Realm. Many disciples along the way bowed respectfully to her, addressing her as "Junior Master." Wu Qianqian even returned the greeting properly, which amazed Su Rui and Shi Yi.

Though small, the Xiaonantian Realm where she resided was laid out like a delicate garden, with rockeries and waterways arranged in a well-organized pattern, dotted with exotic plants and flowers, and the pavilions and buildings all boasting unique styles. Upon entering the mountain gate, she was greeted by a young woman with two white dragon horns, accompanied by several fish-demon and clam maidens. These maidens, transformed from sea spirits, were each unique, and none were ugly. They were truly refreshing and pleasing to the eye.

"This Sister Bai was arranged by Master to look after my daily life!" Wu Qianqian focused on introducing the leading girl with dragon horns, then pointed at Su Rui and Shi Yi and introduced them, "These two are my close friends—the Second and Third Leaders of the Three Heroes Gang, Shi Yi, and Su Qinghe. They've now joined prestigious families! Sister Bai, just treat them like my own brothers and take care of them. They're all good buddies..."

She'd probably mentioned the Three Heroes Gang's past quite a bit here. Wu Qianqian's personality was probably influenced by her father, Constable Wu, with her carefree, underhanded demeanor and the air of a scoundrel. The Dragon Horned Girl, Su Rui, and Shi Yi all knew her personality and couldn't help but smile at each other.

After exchanging pleasantries, the dragon-horned girl smiled and instructed the group of fish demons and clam maidens behind her, who had transformed into young girls, to prepare a feast for Wu Qianqian and the other two so they could reminisce about the past. Then, she turned lightly and disappeared into the background like a ghost.

Not long after, a mysterious radiance shot out like a meteor from the palace atop the highest peak on the dragon's back, landing squarely in the hands of the dragon-horned girl. She carefully opened it and examined it, discovering a record of Su Rui and Shi Yi's past. The dragon-horned girl's brow furrowed slightly, a hint of worry in her eyes, as if lost in thought.

"Qianqian's two friends seem quite capable. But why are they appearing in the South China Sea at this hour... could they also be here for that matter?" the dragon-horned girl speculated, feeling somewhat worried. She knew the importance and sensitivity of the matter; any disturbance could cause a major uproar.

After three rounds of wine and five dishes, Shi Yi finally couldn't help but ask Wu Qianqian why the Putuo Sect appeared in this sea area.

It turns out that the Putuo Sect's main gate, built on the back of a dragon turtle, is a mobile mountain gate, but it mostly moves deep within the South China Sea, following a relatively fixed route. This time, they've made an exception and come to this coastal waters because the leader of the Eastern Demonic Cult, the Five Ghost Heavenly Kings, has come to the South China Sea and annihilated several smaller sects. The Putuo Sect, highly respected among the 3,000 islands of the South China Sea, naturally couldn't sit idly by. So, they tracked the Five Ghost Heavenly Kings and happened upon this place.

Upon hearing this, Su Rui and Shi Yi exchanged a glance, pondering in their minds. They discovered that their destination, Luoshengou, wasn't far from Heisha Island. What a coincidence! They both thought they could take a ride with Putuo Sect and go together.

After briefly mentioning this to Wu Qianqian, she was overjoyed to hear that they could travel to Black Sand Island together. Wu Qianqian then couldn't help but ask the Dragon Horned Girl to arrange accommodation for them in the Small Southern Heaven Realm so that they could settle down there with peace of mind.

Since the storm, Su Rui had been exhausted, both physically and mentally, but he hadn't found a good opportunity to rest. Yet, now within the Putuo Sect, he found it surprisingly difficult to calm down and concentrate. He was troubled by the fact that Chi Jiao, bearing the Black Mountain Divine Seal, hadn't yet returned to search for him. He wasn't worried about Chi Jiao failing to find him, as Chi Jiao knew his destination was Luoshengou. He was simply concerned that something bad might happen to him. After all, the conditions at sea were vastly different from those on land, and as a fire dragon, Chi Jiao was inevitably subject to numerous restrictions in the vast ocean.

Su Rui, feeling restless, decided to leave the residence Wu Qianqian had arranged for him and seek a peaceful place. He wandered through the Xiaonan Heaven Realm and finally found an empty pavilion. He stood there quietly, gazing at the vast ocean in the distance, as if the vast waves could soothe his inner restlessness.

Suddenly, his eyes were drawn to a school of sea loaches swimming by in the distance. These sea loaches darted freely through the sea, their nimble and agile movements stirring a powerful urge within Su Rui—to refine a sea loach boat. This urge, like an unstoppable torrent, propelled him to action.

Su Rui quickly pulled out all the materials needed to refine a first-level sea loach boat. The most eye-catching item was a sea loach carcass over two meters long. His movements were deft and confident, like those of a seasoned craftsman. However, the refining process wasn't always smooth sailing. Unforeseen circumstances would often arise, forcing him to pause and reflect before continuing.

The noise he made while refining the sea eel boat had already alerted the Dragon Horned Girl in the Small Southern Heaven Realm. However, upon seeing that he was completely immersed in the world of refining, the Dragon Horned Girl simply instructed her little demons not to disturb him and left him alone.

An hour later, a strange little boat inlaid with the head and tail of a sea loach appeared in the Xiaonantian Realm. Rather than being called a boat, it was more like a dragon boat, more than two meters long, wide in the middle and narrow at both ends. At the widest point, only five people could sit side by side. The hull was very deep, with a boat propeller, but no oars. It could be propelled by true qi to sail.

Su Rui was naturally dissatisfied with such a simple sea eel boat.

However, this is the first form of the Nine Transformations Sea Eel Boat. After Su Rui confirmed that the hull was fully functional without any omissions, he picked up the boat and flew into the sea for a swim.

Finally, it was rated as "trash".

However, after refining this first-level sea loach boat, he could immediately start refining the second-level sea loach boat, so he didn't have much dissatisfaction with this first-level sea loach boat. After all, this was just a process, and his goal was the ninth-level dragon loach boat.

After refining the first form of the sea eel boat, Su Rui felt much calmer.

Except when Wu Qianqian pulled him away for sparring, he would hide in his room, practicing while thinking about the repair work of the heavy-armored mechanical man.

A few days passed, and Wu Qianqian came to tell him that they had arrived at Black Sand Island. However, the situation on Black Sand Island was not optimistic, as it had completely become a demonic domain.
